Went and got more junk. Slide was stuck so we had to take back roads. I ran ahead and flagged traffic.

Well it was yesterday, well yesterday evening and my girlfriend kicked me out of the house so she could have a couple of her friends over to do cookies and have ladies only time for a couple hours. So I went to the local indoor range and rented a G19 and 100rds.. I'm saddened to say my skills have slacked up. However, it still was nice to put some wireless earphones in, throw the ear pro overtop, slip on the gloves, eye pro and just focus on the front sight for 30 minutes.

Then I wandered to Home Depot and picked up some bathroom caulk so I can fix the badly done caulk job the people who flipped the house did on the bathroom shower before my GF got her house.

Ohh I almost forgot.. I drank 3 cups of coffee today.

Drove my new to me old truck home.
Drove just like it should other than it bottomed HARD in the rear on every decent bump.
I noticed it has air bags and maybe no air and no bump stop?

In any case made it home in true LBZ fashion netting around 18 or so mpg.
Now to determine the order and the parts list.

I assume I just need to source a replacement of this

Just dropped $$$ at shootsteel.com with their sale. Free shipping went to $250 so didn't quite make it. My range will be happy though.

Also ordered a flashbacks, a scarfing tip, rose bud and welding tip for the new torch set.

Shawn must be sleeping so I'll chime in.
The valve he's talking about is where the big tube from the pump hooks to the tank. Your pic shows the pressure switch. They go bad also but you can usually hear them leaking.

This is one version of a check valve:

No, that is pressure relief valve or pop off valve

Big air line going from compressor head to tank. Check valve, it screws into tank and big air line connects to the check valve.

Gotcha.  I see where your talking now.   I source one of those and a fitting for the air chuck. Must have left all of that stuff with the framing trailer

Well fourth time the charm.

The pics don’t do justice to the amount of snow for November. We’re somewhere between 30-36” already.
The lake. Well it’s still not frozen well. Probably a little over half of the four miles was slush. No stopping to see how deep as we’ve had a foot of snow since it slushed up.

Can you explain this? You were on the lake? In what mode of transportation while said lake was not quite frozen?

Thanks Nate.
Water skipping is fun.

Slush can be a nightmare.
If the track and suspension loads up with slush you go down.
Once in the slush. Well heavier than water and hours till freeze in.

I had been afoot three times over the past couple weeks.
2” of ice was the troubling part and why the lake slushed up.
To support the snow load, needed more ice to float.
One of the test holes I drilled shot about a six inch water column.

So now that I’ve mad a pass, those areas can now freeze with the insulation (snow) compacted and pressed into the water. I’ll need a couple more passes to widen and properly compact the trail.
At that point it will be safe to travel. Until then, not for the faint of heart.
(PC way to say idiot...) or bold.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

That would be interesting riding over that. Much less I haven't been on a snowmobile for 50 years!

Picked up some foam sheets today off FBMP. Wasn't looking but it will insulate my garage roof here in the storage area great. Plus I need some for the TH when I take it up to the ridge for skirting.

So Sam, I’m assuming if it’s slush it’s WOT?
I’ll say I was between 75-100% throttle.
At 40 odd mph you don’t sink in all the way.
The two feet of snow help as well, as the slush was down a foot or so.
The trail around the cabin was what the lake was like, well except it was yellow in the bottom on the way back. Will take a few trips to get it all frozen.

Other than the pucker that comes when the back end drops it was uneventful.
Not knowing or being oblivious would be down right dangerous though.
Getting stuck in slush is the worst, and this stuff is deep.

I’ll go out on the weekend and go walkabout and find some good stuff for y’all to see.

Keep us updated on the spatchcock bird Charles. Mine last year was really dry

I was riding with a much younger group and definitely lacking in practice on my part,   I forgot simple steps for sand riding like lower tire pressure (3psi) in front tire, physical stretching, and speed is the key

I miss read a corner, it pushed or blew out the corner as I forced to throttle through it.  That all set me up to far to the right side of a drop,  more throttle would have saved it or at least flown me over what I ultimately landed on.    I speed checked at the lip instead of WOT and landed on a opposing direction slope which put my bars into the uphill flying from there was all I remember until coming to covered in pain and sand.

Dave. My bird came out amazing. Without all the culinary jujitsu I normall have to do to get the thigh and breast to their ideal temp together. Foil, frozen wet washcloths etc.

This came to temp at the exact right time  as was amazingly juicey for both dark and white

The thigh probe was not placed quite right so it was 168 by instant read and the breast 155

Produced in between 1973-1983 as a hobby saw, but used by many in professional use,

The history of Stihl is really neat to read about and how they are a debt free company, 3100 employees in the US and other plants around the country

I’ll be looking for some parts,  choke switch is missing,  it has a nasty little knock in the motor, so maybe some bearings or a new crank.   Time will tell

I’d like to build a little “hot saw” with some porting and maybe a high compression position or maybe kill the head down a little bit for higher compression.

Very cool. Guy I know was rebuilding one recently. It was old enough it had points and a condenser like an old car

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

We had a nice small meal for Thanksgiving.  Started a new tradition.  Zane wanted to say a prayer before dinner. From now on hes the one giving the blessing. I always make the turkey and a few other things in my kitchen in the basement since we usually have 20 people over. Some of the guys and I hide down there with the turkey and stay out of the women's way. This year Jen made it. It wasn't very good. It was hard to stay out of the way and say you are doing it wrong. But I did. It was edible but the animals outside are getting the leftovers. The chickens will clean every sliver of meat off the bones. In her defense it was a different brand of turkey than we usually get and it was half the size. I really do believe the size affected the flavor. The bird was not allowed to mature.

Insted of black Friday shopping we are going camping. Going to go check out a campground we have never been to before.

Jasper made this at school.
