Interesting! Good thing I like asparagus! I think I will be making it a more regular part of my diet, just for GP. Thanks!
True! There are a lot of "home" remedies that work. For instance, eating cherries (or drinking cherry juice) treats/prevents gout. Eating local made honey treats, and prevents seasonal allergies (until you travel to a different area). Hot caffeinated beverages ease asthma/respiratory issues. These are an example of the ones I have personal experience with, and they work well. Of course, most modern docs will say the results are psychosomatic, but I don't buy it.
There was a world of knowledge that passed away when we became a big pharma and insurance moderated health care system. So many doctors do not know how to cure diseases, but can recommend and prescribe a medication to cure the symptoms. How many examples of that can you point to in your experience?? probably many.Do things in moderation. Eat veggies and fruits. Exercise. Stay out in the cold. Work up a sweat and breath hard every day if you can. Laugh a lot, go to bed early and wake up at a decent hour...all simple things to do that lead to long lives
