Dave, most of us are actual grand parents, and a couple of us are great grand parents.

I know there are some “old guys” like JR and Don

I guess we could do a show of hands who’s what age check in.   If I am the youngest on the forum I give in

We are all thinking the same thing!
Yup, Ryan.  And besides, he cant drive at night with those headlights pointing at the moon

They will be great signal lights to find.

Do we all think the same of ferds?
I don't like em
My boys and I play "F150"
When we start off to go somewhere, each suggests a number
Then we count the F150s
It's pitiful how many we can see on a typical 20 min drive. thirty, forty, more.
How would you like to realize you lack imagination to the extent that you can't park and not be within 20 feet of another F150
I hear that by 2035, the F150 will surpass concrete as the most man made thing on earth

35.    I count in five year increments.  Any more detailed than that requires a ID and calculations or I call the wife.

Got a new cheapo grill.   Need something for burgers and hotdogs.

Now to buy that bottle gas stuff.  Haven’t had a grill for year or two

I've got you by a couple years.

Just got back from the range this morning.  Pulled the plow of this morning and loaded the ATV up so I could get out and check and paint steel on the 600 yard range.  Then flung some lead for a bit.  It was a nice sunny 20 degree day.  A little windy but not to bad.

I think new Cameron said 19 or something young like that.

My boy is 25 this year...no grandkids yet, but wedding is June.

Me 45 feels like 60...

That’s how I feel working with these 20 something kids.   My hands cramp up and my body just won’t move like it used to.   Lost a bunch of weight and things got better but still not 20 again.  Ten years who would have thought.   I can out think em and still put more work

I'm sure some of the guys will agree, the 30s are the best... enjoy the heck out of it, and don't hurt yourself. I started with back issues at 26 working 16-18 hrs a day, and I wish I could go back and change my habits. For me,  40 is when the pain index started ramping up at a high rate of speed.

Age is a state of mind. I refuse to use it as an excuse to slow down. My personal strength best was at 42. At 52 I’m only about 75 lbs off and gaining on it after 9 years off the gym.

As soon as I get my knee problem solved I’ll be back at it hard.

Yeah I hurt and it takes me a while to get moving in the morning but it’s no excuse.

It’s harder to hit a moving target and if I stop I’m afraid someone will kick dirt on me

I’m six weeks into it on no carb or sugar, down about 15# so far. I do get a cheat meal every two weeks but honestly don’t really divert much usually just some bread and taters. In my 20’s I did this just as a way to stay healthy (didn’t need to lose weight per say) and was a gym rat so it helped in that regards too.

On another note, didn’t realize your fav color was pink....

Not the oldest and not the youngest, 47 years old. I have five girls, 17, 16, 11, 6, and 1. I also have 5 boys, 14, 12, 9, 8, and 3. I don’t have time to slow down, but have a few extra pounds I could stand to lose.

Me, I’m 55 and feel blessed to be aging well compared to younger people I work with.  Two daughters, oldest turns 29 tomorrow, youngest turned 14 a month ago - Jacob would have been 27 this July.  Grandson turned 8 months last week.

Per Nate’s question about where we’re moving - local; into a better High School district for our youngest.  Will be looking for buy a fixer-upper for a 4 year live and flip God willing.

Spent the weekend pushing snow piles. Trying to make room for more. -16 this morning but clear as a bell.

I'm 60 with a 20 year old daughter and 17 year old son. Wife is 10 years younger so I will be working well into my 70's.

Thing is, you can easily work and work strong well into your 70's. Thinking you have to lay down in your 60's is a myth, little more.

The secret I have discovered is to first and foremost, get your spiritual life right. If you are well connected to God you have an energy that is hard to describe. Look at Moses. So he spent 40 years or so under Pharo where he learned all he could about egypt, which would be helpful later on when they were persueing. He then spent 40 years in the wilderness. Then after 80 years of training he was ready to live on in his most useful years preparing God's people to cross the Jordan. Wasn't the number of his days 120 years?
Then there is Kaleb, a man I fancy myself after. He was allowed to survive the 40 years in the wilderness because he did not worship the idles, and only after all of that, he started his recon missions into the lands which would become Israel. Then he led troops along with Joshua to conquer those lands. He did all of that at a very advanced age.

In the modern day America setting, we are obliged to think we need to retire at 62 ish, and considered to past prime if we are still working into our 70's. But I think that is more about big pharma making money on a dying and sick population than on actual facts according to God. He designed out bodies for a life of 120 years or so. He designed us to work. He says in his word that working with our hands is good, and useful. Why is it that so many successful people retire to a life of gentleman farming? Most of my Doctor friends own farms. Many of the Fox News hosts of a more advanced age own and work farms. I know I am never happier and settled than when I am engaged in hard work on my farm. I sometimes end up worshiping most of the day while killing cedar trees and knockin' big holes in the ground. It's just good to work. It loosens up the joints and makes you more flexible, and maintains your strength.

I will be 65 in April. I work most of the time. I run a security team and train the "hand to hand" stuff with them. I am still very strong and frankly see no change on the horizon.

Getting old and decrepit is a myth, don't buy into all of that, Instead, dive in to the good book, and pray and get to know your real healer, and drive on with a quiet rage against the forces of the devil which seek to lie to you and defeat you!

Well said Don.  I almost said, “as usual”, but I didn’t want you to get thinking too much of yourself.

My wife and I have talked about it, we both plan to live well into our 100s, we’ll see what the Lord has to say about it, but I expect we’ll get to see great great grand babies.

You absolutely can.
THis artificial concept of dying in your 70's is hog wash. God never intended that for us. People just don't give in to just how greatly the spiritual affects the carnal life. Since the spiritual world is where we come from and where we return to, why not keep that strong and well lubricated. I believe human life is meant to be around 120 years. And healthy years at that. Walking around on land mines, in amongst disease, working for the devil, and other activities curtails that greatly.

Love thy neighbor as yourself, and get to know God and serve him and see what happens to everything else.

Don, I thought you were a little younger than that. I turn 61 in June, feel pretty darn good too but I need to get in shape. Keeping up wit those scouts is a job.

100, that would be great. Don't plan on running laps then but as long as I am moving good I'll be good.

There is WORK... and then there is WORK... I currently work full time at basically the same job I have had since 1993. I enjoy some of the people but have to say I don't enjoy the work like I used to. I like the really good pay check that allows me to send my kids to College and pay the bills.

If I could do the WORK I wanted to do I wouldn't be living in MN and I probably wouldn't be doing the same thing I have been doing sine '93. But for now and the next 6 years it is what it is.

39 in November. Met my future bride when my stepson was 5 and I've been Dad ever since. My daughter turns 9 this year in Sept, so I've got a good gap there, but oh well, I'm used to raising only children anyhow. Watch out Tex, Sam's moving to New Braunfels this summer. His lady's got a scholarship and family out that way.
