Faith Discussion / Hope
« on: October 19, 2014, 07:43:45 PM »
I was thinking of the hope we have as Christians

Some verses that come to mind:

1 Peter 4-9
4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Romans 8:1
8 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus

As I approached the stop at an exit near a truck stop, I see a young man holding up a sign
Which Reads:
USMC Veteran
Need $$$ for ticket home

So I study the guy.
1. He is clean and recently shaven
2. Has gay-boy sneakers, not something a Marine would wear.
3. He as a cammo pack, a small one...in ARMY COLORS!
What Marine who you have ever seen would ever wear anything Army????
4. The ruck sack is very new looking and says US Army Reserve!
5. He has a small sleeping bag rolled up attached to the bottom of the ruck
It is like one of those $15 ones you got for your niece.
6. As I roll up, I stare straight at him, like I'm boring a hole in him, and he looks away and walks away...Marine???

Hardly, and I am getting dammed sick of these losers begging and now using an honorable group to pray in our sympathies. I see real desperation in the eyes of the homeless in Cincinnati, and there is a definite difference between them and these liars.

OK, done venting...

Hell, had he been a real Marine, I would have taken him to eat, allowed him to shower, taken him to the bus station and bought his ticket home.

Coffee Induced Early Morning Rant / Who is Obama?
« on: October 17, 2014, 02:03:21 PM »
Who is this man who sits as our president?
Can anybody say?
Does anybody know?
Why are his records sealed?

I believe he is the single biggest hoax perpetrated upon the American public in the history of this nation!

These are interesting and extremely reasonable questions being asked without so much as a “peep” in response for years.  There are too many missing pieces for this to be naturally occurring, I have a strong feeling the American public has been masterfully manipulated and duped.  The bigger question is how and why did so many people drink the KOOL-Aid without insisting on having answers to these questions prior to the 2008 election.

It will be interesting to see what they put in his "Presidential Library" about his early years when he is out of office.

In a country where we take notice of many, many facets of our public figures' lives, doesn't seem odd that there's so little we know about our current president, Barack Obama.

For example, we know that Andrew Jackson 's wife smoked a corn cob pipe and was accused of adultery; Abe Lincoln never went to school; Jack Kennedy wore a back brace; Harry Truman played the piano.

As Americans, we enjoy knowing details about our newsmakers, but none of us know one single humanizing fact about the history of our own president.

We are all aware of the lack of uncontestable birth records for Obama; that document managing has been spectacularly successful.

There are however, several additional oddities in Obama's history that appear to be as well managed as the birthing issue.

One other interesting thing... There are no birth certificates of his daughters that can be found ?

It's interesting that no one who ever dated him has shown up. The charisma that caused women to be drawn to him so strongly during his campaign, certainly would in the normal course of events, lead some lady to come forward, if only to garner some attention for herself. We all know about JFK's magnetism, that McCain was no monk and quite a few

details about Palin's courtship and even her athletic prowess Joe Biden's aneurisms are no secret; look at Cheney and Clinton, we all know about their heart problems. Certainly Wild Bill Clinton's exploits before and during his White House years, were well known. That's why it's so odd that not one lady has stepped up and said, "He was soooo shy..." or "What a great dancer..."

It's virtually impossible to know anything about this fellow.

Who was the best man at his wedding? Start there. Then check groomsmen.

Then get the footage of the graduation ceremony. Has anyone talked to
the professors? It is odd that no one is bragging that they knew him or
taught him or lived with him.

When did he meet Michele, and how? Are there photos there? Every president gives to the public all their photos, etc. for their library, etc. What has he released? And who in hell voted for him to be the most popular man in 2010? Doesn't this make you wonder?

Ever wonder why no one ever came forward from President Obama's past saying they knew him, attended school with him, was his friend, etc??  Not one person has ever come forward from his past. It certainly is very, very strange...

This should be a cause for great concern. To those who voted for him, you may have elected an unqualified, inexperienced shadow man. Have you seen a movie named "The Manchurian Candidate"?

As insignificant as each of us might be, someone with whom we went to
school will remember our name or face; someone will remember we were the
clown or the dork or the brain or the quiet one or the bully or something
about us.

George Stephanopoulos of ABC News said the same thing during the 2008
campaign. He questions why no one has acknowledged the president was in
their classroom or ate in the same cafeteria or made impromptu speeches
on campus. Stephanopoulos also was a classmate of Obama at Columbia --
the class of 1984. He says he never had a single class with him.

He is such a great orator; why doesn't anyone in Obama's college class remember him? Why won't he allow Columbia to release his records?

Nobody remembers Obama at Columbia  University ....

Looking for evidence of Obama's past, Fox News contacted 400 Columbia University students from the period when Obama claims to have been there... but none remembered him.

Wayne Allyn Root was, like Obama, a political science major at Columbia who also graduated in 1983. In 2008, Root says of Obama, "I don't know a single person at Columbia that knew him, and they all know me. I don't have a classmate who ever knew Barack Obama at Columbia, ever."

Nobody recalls him. Root adds that he was also, like Obama, Class of '83 Political Science, and says, "You don't get more exact or closer than that. Never met him in my life, don't know anyone who ever met him. At the class reunion, our 20th reunion five years ago, who was asked to be the speaker of the class? Me. No one ever heard of Barack! And five years ago, nobody even knew who he was. The guy who writes the class notes, who's kind of the, as we say in New   York , 'the macha' who knows everybody, has yet to find a person, a human who ever met him."

Obama's photograph does not appear in the school's yearbook and Obama consistently declines requests to talk about his years at Columbia, provide school records, or provide the name of any former classmates or friends while at Columbia .

Some other interesting questions:

Why was Obama's law license inactivated in 2002?  It is said there is no record of him ever taking the Bar exam.

Why was Michelle's law license inactivated by court order? We understand that was forced to avoid fraud charges.

It is circulating that according to the U.S. Census, there is only one Barack Obama but 27 Social Security numbers and over 80 alias connected to him.

The Social Security number he uses now originated in Connecticut where he
is never reported to have lived. And was originally registered to another man
(Thomas Louis Wood) from Connecticut, who died in Hawaii while on vacation there.

As we all know Social Security Numbers are only issued 'once, they are not reused'

No wonder all his records are sealed...

Please continue sending this out to everyone. Somewhere, someone had to know him in school...before he "reorganized" Chicago & burst upon the Scene at the 2004 Democratic Convention.

Real Man Knowledge base / How to make chlorine bleach
« on: October 16, 2014, 08:22:59 PM »
How to Make Homemade Chlorine Bleach

One of the main components that you’ll want to have around the house (or apartment) during a SHTF situation is chlorine bleach. Not only can it be used for cleaning water (although boiling is hands down more effective and healthier) it is excellent for keeping things sanitary.

Unfortunately, the average shelf life of liquid bleach (being stored between 50 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit) is around 6 months. After that, bleach will lose 20% of it’s strength at around the year mark and then 20% each year after that. So if you’re not vigilant about keeping it rotated, chances are when you need it for disinfecting water or to keep things clean you’ll be fresh out of bleach and luck.

There is a better option. What if you could make your own fresh chlorine bleach that could be used for both keeping things sanitary and will disinfect water? Here’s how:

How to Make Chlorine Bleach

Before we go into how to make it, I just wanted to point out the differences between this homemade chlorine bleach and your standard household Chlorox variety.

First off, liquid chlorine bleach is a solution made from mostly water and 3-6% Sodium Hypochlorite. This homemade variety is made from Calcium Hypochlorite which you can easily find as “pool shock” at your pool-supplier store or Walmart. Both are used throughout the world for water purification and are the main chemicals in standard household cleaning products.

The Benefit of Calcium Hypochlorite

The major benefit of using Calcium Hypochlorite over Sodium Hypochlorite is shelf life. Calcium Hypochlorite (pool shock) is sold in a solid granular form and has a 10 year shelf life when stored in a cool, dark place. This will easily meet your long-term storage needs.

The other benefit is the amount of available chlorine. The concentration of chlorine is much higher with Calcium Hypochlorite. For example, a small 1-pound bag of calcium hypochlorite can disinfect up to 10,000 gallons of drinking water. That’s around 5 gallons/day for one person for 5 1/2 years! Not bad for only 1 lb of granules.

Making Chlorine Bleach

To make a chlorine bleach solution using calcium hypochlorite, here are some formulas I got from the Army Technical Bulletin entitled, “SANITARY CONTROL AND SURVEILLANCE OF FIELD WATER SUPPLIES” (TB MED 577).

From the Army manual, to make a concentrated chlorine solution that you can use for disinfecting water (or to be used in maintaining a clean and sanitary living environment), you’ll want to use calcium hypochlorite that has around 70% available chlorine.

If you’re buying pool shock, on the back of the bag it will tell you what percentage of chlorine is available. The one I use is called “Zappit 73 Pool Shock, it is pure calcium hyphochlorite that contains up to 73% available chlorine and sells for around $5 for a 1lb bag.

To make the homemade chlorine bleach solution, you’ll need to do the following:
•Mix 2 level Tablespoons of Calcium Hypochlorite to 3 cups of water..
.
After you’ve made your stock of chlorine solution, you’ll want to follow the formula from the Army Technical Bulletin in determining how much of the above stock chlorine solution you’ll need for your desired number of gallons of water to be disinfected. *Note: I’ve updated the formula to calculate the same concentration that household bleach has. If you have questions, fire me an email and I’ll be more than happy to explain the math.

mL of stock chlorine required = (desired concentration (mg/L)*number of gallons to be treated)/18.12

The desired concentration refers to how much chlorine in mg/L you want the disinfected water to have. A recommended amount is 7 mg/L of concentration. This equates to adding 8 drops of household liquid bleach to 1 gallon of water (the recommended amount when disinfecting water with household bleach).

Given these amounts, if you wanted to disinfect 1 gallon of water with the homemade chlorine solution, the formula would be as follows:

(7*1)/18.12

This equates to .38mL or 8 drops of the concentrated solution per gallon of water. Just like normal household bleach!

So the 3 step process is as follows:
1.Place 8 drops of homemade chlorine bleach in 1 gallon of water.
2.Let stand for 30 min.
3.If water is still cloudy, repeat steps until clear; otherwise it is ready to drink.
.
Keep in mind, that once the homemade chlorine bleach is made it will follow the same shelf-life limitations as standard household liquid bleach. So be sure to only make amounts you will be using within that time frame.

Well we managed to feed somewhere from 100-200 last night on the streets of Cincinnati
We must be doing something right because the demons were sure attacking us. While Pastor Jim preached the hope of Jesus before we served some vile man wheeled his wheel chair up into the crowd and started screeching like some animal...that was weird. We wheeled him right back out.
Later some people tried to sell crack out of a car parked right beside our tables!
I mingled, did security, talked to people, prayed with some and ended up serving pork paddies.
Wouldn't ya know it...some man comes up and sticks out his plate. I serve him tow pork paddies. He says he doesn't eat pork. (Muslim I'm thinking)
So I look him in the eye and ask when is the last time he ate. He answers "2 Days ago." I said would you rather go hungry or eat the pork? He looked at me and I saw the resignation in his eyes. I added a third paddie!
Again, the money you donated made this all possible. So while on the other side of the road some unsavory looking dudes were leaning against my Toureg smoking and cursing, we fed many and prayed, and listened, and fellowshipped for 2 hours.
His work will be done!

Tonight we fed somewhere between one and two hundred on the streets of Cincinnati.
One guy who was really out of it, acting like he was demon possessed or something tried to interrupt, but, well, it didn't work out for him. He ended up yelling "Help" and "Someone call the police" long before we let him go.
Suffice it to say, we own that street corner while the Lord's work is being done!
One woman who asked me for a blanket last week, now has found a home!

During this part, we will pick up as the truck closes in on its OD Green paint job. It will start to take on uniquely military attributes.

At this point I am no longer thinking this truck is any back up sort of vehicle, but a primary go to truck should things turn horribly bad quickly. Knowing the vulnerability to the electronic Duramax truck, I could not really rely on it in all situations. A major EMP event would render it and all my efforts there useless, so this simple and old, yet modernized survival truck is now being given full attention.

Further as I am asked to demonstrate and teach on survival subjects, I have need of a "Technology Demonstrator," And SquareD will fill that role.

Not a high technology demonstrator, mind you, but rather a "Smart and Practical" technology demonstrator

Watch and enjoy in the pages to follow the coming departure from everything stock and a major transformation which will actually have the truck shedding many of it's former "repairs and fixes" in lieu of rock solid utterly reliability infused with some of the things I learned over 5+ years serving in combat theaters around the world.

Enjoy!

Medical Corner / Steroids and Canadian Pharmacies

Just putting this out there, but shouldn't we consider stocking up on behind the counter drugs as well as the over the counter stuff?

With my recent knee surgery, My progress was slow until I got some predesome in me. Days after that I am healing like crazy, albeit while breaking out (Side effect?)

I am now going to include a bottle of those gems in my "Tier-2" Medical kit. You know, not bug out size, but better stocked hide site sized. So one in America just can't go buy the stuff anywhere, but in anywhere else, planet earth you could. With the Canadian pharmacies advertising on my browser for Viagra every 15 minutes, would/couldn't/t they sell something useful just as easily?

I never considered them, but are meds like antibiotics, steroids, and pain killers available from them through the magic of the mail? Is that legal to purchase?

Can someone read in of some experience, sources, factual info or the like?

I'm looking at some gas masks

NBC, good filters

That round eye matrian invader Russian mask scared the heck out of me

You'd get shot just for wearing it

I was looking at Serbian Army surplus masks today. Pricing in about $55 with a decent filter and way better (Human like) ergonomics

Good? Not so good?

Better option?

Who sells Armee surplus masks and can we civies get the good filters?

I like the Glock pistol
It's a combat proven winner. I can say that first hand as I have carried the glock in combat as my backup to my trusty M4 carbine and sometimes AK-47

I like several models and believe use each one in a particular niche that it fits well

One thing that I really like about it is the lack of safeties. I don't know how many times I handed my Beretta 92F to a person at a range with the de-cocking lever facing down and watched them pull the trigger over and over, then report that "The gun doesn't work" Now that is after instruction and practice. I just imagine what will happen when that element of stark raving fear is introduced???

As for you combat pukers
You are ah-plenty
(You see, the DOTs have sucked me down into their pointless, mindless pit of debauchery and wasted prose!)

Anyway, doing the young pilot thing, which most Armee Aviators are you want to be Tom Cruise for a moment. Hey, it's training so who cares if the troopers arrive at the LZ totally sick and unable to do much or are only about 20% effective due to your antics.

Then for the few who make it to mid grade. You see being an officer , there is so much B.S. that the real McCoy's are eaten quickly by the OER (Officer Evaluation Report) monster for being frank and pointing out the fact that this commander or that is a farking fool. It's the way of the Warrant, sa' Live'
At this point you start to be an officer. I mean you start to care about those boneheads in the back. As an officer we are charged with taking care of our men, and for the brief time these warriors climb into the back until they get out again, they are yours. It is this time when you only jink when you really need to and you make the flight warm, comfortable and as safe as you can.

Then comes old age AOL (Army Officer life) Not many survive to reach this point. Out of my graduating class of 54, only 6 of us remained when I got all senior and wise (Or at least I thought so) Now this is the pilot all you combat pukers want to fly with. This guy now has become the father of all you good-for nuthins'. He will do everything he can (and usually succeeds) in getting you safely around the AO. He is not kind, nope approach him and he will snap your head off.

He has become that way because at this point in his career at least half of the officers around him are his sworn enemy. He routinely has to contain himself in front of you crunchies, but rip some Colonels head off behind closed doors. So he's in a constant state of anxiety, but above all he loves all of you pukers because finally, and it has only taken 20+ years, he knows the nations safety is at stake and worse that that, the fate of these precious foul smellin' hopelessly overloaded young men arrayed in the back of his aircraft.
Find him and fly with him. He will have a SFC or SSG crew chief, because those guys want to live as well, and survive in comfort until the RPG makes everything white and fluffy.

So in closing God Bless all you good for nuthin' stinky, unwashed, unshaven, scarred, bleeding, tobacco chewin', med kit stealing, grunts and all those who hang around you!

Bug-Out Bag and Camping gear / My bug out bag lesson plan
« on: October 07, 2014, 01:31:09 PM »
It's my lesson plan for teaching a beginners class on the run away bag/bug out bag. You can see I practice what I preach

Subject: Runaway Bag Contents
The purpose of the runaway bag is to provide the user with emergency need items prepacked in a convenient ruck sack type bag. The bag would normally be stored in a vehicle, aircraft, or even at your primary home or emergency shelter locations. The contents of the bag are varied depending on what needs one feels he/she must be prepared for.

Type of bag:
The best type of bag is one that is large handbag or small ruck sack sized. It should be of a sturdy hiker or military style with reinforced stitching, a heavy duty bottom and provide some water proofing for its contents. I would choose a bag with some exterior pockets, perhaps two to three to help in the organization of the contents. Later styled military bags will come with exterior nylon webbing sewn on in a regular pattern which is called Molle (MOdular Light weight Load carrying Equipment). The purpose of the MOLLE (pronounced “molly”) is to provide a customizable exterior where you may affix readily available pouches, sheaths, or bags.
Whatever bag you select, do not compromise on the quality, you don’t want the bag to tear open spilling out your medical supplies when you’re on the run from a hazardous area. A good surplus military rucksack is a great cost effective alternative to some of the new trendy bags. Just do a good pre-flight of the bag prior to purchase to make sure it is in decent condition. A couple small holes here and there are not necessarily grounds not to purchase. If the bottom, clips, and straps are in good condition it is a keeper.
Since the advent of the two desert wars our military has fought during the past decade, the need for water has become very important. Some bags will include an integrated water bag capable of holding a gallon or more of fresh water. Just keep in mind the bag will become bulkier and water weighs about 8 pounds per gallon. On the flip side, the water bag provides a cushion for your back and as it sweats, it will naturally cool the water inside and your skin as well!

Considerations:
For a moderate climate there may not be as great a need for warm clothing or a blanket, whereas in a northern climate those items would be paramount. Generally speaking the bag will always contain several items because of their universal need. The size of the bag normally should remain smaller so that it will net impede movement and slow you down. Therefore the goal will be to keep the bag relatively light, say no more than 30 pounds again, dependent on who will be carrying it. A full grown man could easily walk all day with 30 pounds, where as a woman or child might not be able to handle that much weight at all.
You may want to put a couple of bags and preposition each in convenient places, say one in the home and one in the trunk of your car. One of your bags might be more universal in what it contains whereas one might be heavily loaded with just a few things you absolutely need and expect to need in quantity. For example a bag to be used in a arid location would obviously contain more water than anything else. A bag to be used where you anticipate urban warfare like conditions might have extra ammunition for your personal weapon. When flying in Afghanistan I always knew there was a threat of being shot down. If that were to happen, I would immediately have been in a survival situation, not due to lack of water or food or shelter, but under threat from those who had shot down the aircraft. Therefore I carried hundreds of rounds of ammunition to help me ward off attempts to kill or capture me, while hopefully others came to my rescue. Long term survival was never going to be an issue. Contrasting with that situation when I would fly in remote mountain areas, I would make sure I had items needed to survive there for days or longer while I awaited search and rescue.

Recommended bag contents:
1. A high quality knife or survival tool with a strong knife blade. Single edge is for survival, double edge is for fighting. Note: Do not purposely engage in a knife fight unless you want to get cut!
2. Water bag or canteen(s). Water bladders which fold down are very useful for bulk storage.
3. Fire starting device such as waterproof matches, a lighter, magnesium fire starter, steel wool and 9V battery. Fire is important so have multiple devices on hand.
4. Signaling device such as a mirror, flare, smoke device, strobe light, or VS-17 panel
5. Compass (attached by a lanyard to pack)
6. Space blanket
7. Flashlight, blue/green lens filter (Reason: Tactical, more on this later)
8. Spare batteries
9. GPS
10. Needle and thread
11. Rope or nylon cord. Military “550” chord is a favorite.
12. Lip balm, sun screen, insect repellent
13. Sunglasses, spare reading or prescription glasses
14. Hat, full brimmed or insulated and waterproof. Place money bandages, thread, and so forth in the brim.
15. Poncho and possibly a poncho liner (Military surplus with a camo pattern)
16. Medical Kit consisting of:
a. Bandages, combat type, US military or Israeli military.
b. Bandages, square cotton type
c. Medical tape
d. Band-Aids
e. Anti bacterial ointment
f. Colloidal Silver liquid
g. Tourniquet
h. Quick clot type product
i. Heavy Duty Scissors
j. Alcohol wipes
k. Sterilizing wipes
l. Emergency sling
m. Aspirin, 325 mg
n. Anti-biotic
o. Burn cream or ointment
p. Diarrhea control medication
q. Any medication you currently take and require
r. Suture kit
s. Heavy gage needle (to introduce small hole into chest cavity)
t. Breathing tube, nasal or throat
17. Radio
18. Survival book
19. Food
20. Map of the area
21. Water filter or water treatment tablets
22. Lightweight Binoculars
23. Clothing to include: (Wrap these in zip-lock bags)
a. Spare socks
b. Spare underwear
24. Foot powder
25. Ammunition
26. Fishing kit including line, hooks and a lure
27. Cash or barter money
28. Small weapon for animal control, food acquisition, protection if required) Something like a single stack 9mm pistol is easily concealed and light weight.

Training: Practice With your bag
A vital component to your personal survival is your physical condition. You should be exercising approximately once a day with either an organized activity or by merely walking a little more or taking the staircase in lieu of the elevator. When you put your runaway or bug out bag together, try wearing it during one of your walks. Take a hike of about an hour or two in length while wearing the fully loaded bag. Plan to train with some of its contents. For example, move to a highpoint in the terrain and use the compass to shoot an azimuth to a distant feature. Plan for regular drinking intervals and perhaps simulate an injury at some point.
The idea is to become familiar with what you have and where you have it packed. You might discover that some reorganization is necessary for commonly used items, or that other items are adding no value, only extra weight. If you have moved long enough to have generated some sweat and perhaps some discomfort, then any unwanted features of your bag will have shown themselves. You can consequently make adjustments and perfect the proper balance of form and function.

Some other considerations:
1. For the most part, your medical kit is for your use and not for others except perhaps your family. If and when you become serious enough about the threats to your family as well, you will eventually make up survival bags for each of them. The medical kit described above is very limited and only supports a narrow range of trauma for short periods of time. It is recommended you develop a more complete medical supply kit fitted into another ruck-sack type bag to provide more in-depth coverage of wound, injury, and sickness treatment.
2. Unfortunately the masses you will encounter during a time of civil upheaval will not be prepared. Most people, perhaps as many as 90%or more will not have anything except for the clothes on their backs. Their needs will be great and if you share your supplies you will quickly be striped of everything you will need for your own survival.
3. Consider the climatology of your area carefully when out fitting your bag
4. Will you be primarily in a rural or an urban setting? Counter to conventions thinking, urban settings will not always be the safest places to be. When disaster first occurs there will be shock followed quickly by crime such as looting. You do not want to be anywhere near that sort of activity. Some areas will fall into anarchy quickly as police and military assets are retasked to protection of higher value activities such as hospitals, government facilities and critical infrastructure. Those areas unmonitored by government forces will revert to basic laws of the jungle.
5. Construct your medical kit IAW your knowledge of emergency medicine. I would recommend you attend a good emergency medical course then equip your medical kit accordingly. Military and police often refer to the medical bag as your “Blow Out” bag.

COLLOIDAL SILVER Overview Information

Colloidal silver is a mineral. Despite promoters’ claims, silver has no known function in the body and is not an essential mineral supplement. Colloidal silver products were once available as over-the-counter products, but in 1997, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ruled that colloidal silver drug products were not considered safe or effective. Colloidal silver products marketed for medical purposes or promoted for unproven uses are now considered “misbranded” under the law.

There are many Internet ads for the parts of a generator that produces colloidal silver at home. People who produce colloidal silver at home will likely not be able to evaluate their product for purity or strength. There are many products that are far safer and more effective than colloidal silver.

Despite these concerns about safety and effectiveness, people still buy colloidal silver as a dietary supplement and use it for a wide range of ailments. Colloidal silver is used to treat infections due to yeast; bacteria (tuberculosis, Lyme disease, bubonic plague, pneumonia, leprosy, gonorrhea, syphilis, scarlet fever, stomach ulcers, cholera); parasites (ringworm, malaria); and viruses (HIV/AIDS, pneumonia, herpes, shingles, warts).

Colloidal silver is also used for lung conditions including emphysema and bronchitis; skin conditions including rosacea, cradle cap (atopic dermatitis), eczema, impetigo, and psoriasis; and inflammation (sometimes due to infection) of the bladder (cystitis), prostate (prostatitis), colon (colitis), nose (rhinitis), stomach (gastritis), tonsils (tonsillitis), appendix (appendicitis), and sinuses (sinusitis).

Other uses include treatment of cancer, diabetes, arthritis, lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome, leukemia, hay fever and other allergies, trench foot, and gum disease.

Colloidal silver is also used to prevent flu, H1N1 (swine) flu, and the common cold.

Some women take colloidal silver during pregnancy to aid the baby's growth and health as well as the mother's delivery and recovery.

Colloidal silver is applied directly to the skin for acne, burns, eye infections, fungal infections, throat infections, skin infections, and Staphylococcus infections.

How does it work?

Colloidal silver can kill certain germs by binding to and destroying proteins.

Powerplant, Driveline, and Braking / NP-203 Writeup by JR
« on: October 07, 2014, 11:51:54 AM »
I had a 205 in my old chevy, it was bullet proof. The 205 is part time and all steel gears, 203 is full time with a chain. Here is write up on one.

The full-time four-wheel-drive NP203 transfer case is one of the most standard items found in ’70s fullsize 4x4s. Big, heavy, and relatively strong despite its chaindrive, this box can be converted to part-time with a simple gear or shaft swap inside the case. But few people understand how the insides tick on this case, so we thought we’d clue you in to some of the innards and theory without a complete rebuild or overhaul.

The full-time aspect of the 203 is all in the rear section of the unit. The case has an internal differential that selectively splits the power to the front and rear axles when the shifter is not in one of the locked positions. When shifted into Hi-Loc or Lo-Loc, the differential locks to provide equal power to both driveshafts. If you removed either driveshaft and tried to drive the truck with the case in the nonlocked position, the internal diff would send all the power to the yoke with the missing shaft. It’s just like an open rear axle differential, where all the power goes to the tire with the least traction. However, if the case was shifted into a locked position, power would be equally distributed to the front and rear, so you’d be able to drive the rig as long as one driveshaft was still in place.

Many of you with 203s are running around without a front driveshaft and with the shifter in Hi-Loc since that’s the free method of overriding the full-time 4x4 feature. But after a while you’ll probably notice a clunk emanating from the case. Whether your rig is a Dodge, a Chevy, or a Ford, the NP203 will develop internal wear when subjected to this type of use. Minimal driving isn’t a problem, but continual driving in the Hi-Loc position without the front shaft installed causes the internal coupler on the differential to develop a lot of slop, eventually causing a banging noise and then destruction.

The differential carrier is also an item that can shred with this type of abuse. Many 203 cases use a pressed-steel cage for the differential gears instead of the two-piece heavy-duty style, and Jason Bunch at Tri-County Gear says the pressed-steel unit wears out quickly if you do a quasi conversion this way. The best bet is to install a conversion kit in the 203 case and add locking front hubs to eliminate wear and drag on the front axle internal components. Even the ’74-’79 Dodge trucks and Ramchargers with the live-axle front end can be converted to use hubs with a MileMarker kit.

Such was the situation on our subject vehicle, a ’74 Dodge Ramcharger with a couple thousand miles in Hi-Loc—and a terrible clunk. The noise from the T-case got so bad it made us think the whole shebang was going to be scattered across the freeway during our rush-hour commute. Fortunately, it made it to Tri-County Gear, where Bunch diagnosed and inspected the dead Dodge case. After a thorough evaluation, the good Dr. Bunch recommended installing the MileMarker part-time kit into a rebuilt NP203 from Boyce Equipment—something that had been rolling around in the back of the Ramcharger for a while, adding ballast and just waiting for this opportunity.

Once finished, the new parts had eliminated the drivetrain clunk and provided extra peace of mind. Because of the conversion, the Dodge now has a two-wheel-drive low-range position, although we’re going to use it sparingly to prevent overstressing the rear axle. The case we got from Boyce Equipment was also a near-direct replacement for the Dodge, but many of the internals will also fit Fords and Chevys.

2075
In this section we get into the body work, painting, a roof rack and a host of changes that cause this truck to depart the restoration/mod course it was on and onto a whole new project much more advanced in nature and purpose than what you have a feel for so far.

Seat belts on...Lets go!

2076
It's difficult to call the exact point where this project changes or turns the corner between the phase it was in to the next evolution.

With the adding of the Ruff-Stuff shock brackets, double shear hard core off road parts, I'll call the ball right here.

Medical Corner / Ebola/truth test
« on: October 03, 2014, 08:41:28 AM »
OK so the gentleman who travelled from Monrovia to Brussels to Dulles, to Dallas while infected with Ebola is now in an isolation ward in Dallas.

Government says not to worry, everything is OK.

My take: We are probably OK, however the disease is only infectious with the onset of symptoms. So no symptoms at Dulles where he shared airspace with worldwide and nation wide travelers...and that's a very good thing.

Then onto Dallas. As a former airline and military pilot, I can tell you jets are one of the most diseased places on earth. I can pretty much guarantee that if you flew, you sat on a seat that was vomited on, urinated on, or defecated on. Some pretty good blood trails as well...I've seen it all. I even had a Hollywood movie star, name withheld...who was as high as a kite on Cocaine, I believe...fall on my plane and broke his nose. He bled all over people and the seats...nasty! Very large people are the greatest offenders followed by the sick and children.

When I flew jets I got sick every other month from breathing all that infectious air...and I was working out all the time to try and fight it. Sadly even though the cockpit has a dedicated AC unit, the airflow is pulled down and through a cockpit and belly full of hot electronics to cool all that stuff a bit. So when someone in the back has an issue, you get sensory overload up front...yea, not fun.

The air all comes through the engines, no ram air thing, all processed by a hungry compressor section(s) then cooled a couple million degrees and fed through gaspers to you. And you should see the insides of those bacteria farms called air lines...

With an infected person, infected with anything, depending on the size of the aircraft, a lot of people will be rebreathing whatever his lungs just processed.

So with respect to the Ebola man on his way to Dallas, on the United flight, I am not so sure things are rosy red. Shortly afterward he went to the hospital. People do not go to the hospital at the onset of symptoms, but generally when they start getting really sick. That suggests to me, that for some time before he was seen and released by the hospital in Dallas for the first time the man was pretty sick.

Since the man was travelling from Africa, and an African, my bet he was in much better shape than most fat Americans who because of their walking poor condition get sick much faster than a fit man used to walking 5 miles a day and eating a healthier diet. I'm suggesting the man might have been sick longer than we consider normal, but because of his physical conditioning, able to accommodate it.

With all that said, I think it is fair to suggest he likely had contact with hundreds of people in the Dallas area before he was finally placed in isolation.

I think we possibly now have active colonies of Ebola here in the United States. The government is in no way ready to respond, heck there is no real vaccine in any quantity.

I'd suggest you limit contact down there or with anyone or anything you think might have been a part of all of this but also watch what unfolds, and what you are being told.

And I hope and Pray that I am very, very wrong about all of this!

Radio/Comms / GMRS: Who is using them?
« on: October 03, 2014, 08:08:20 AM »
The GMRS radios are out there everywhere and have lots of frequencies available

How well are they working for you? Mine seems to have a pretty limited range.

Is there a way to scramble the frequencies for secure comms, or frequency hop? Anything commercial available?

I can tell you it is pretty easy for some folks to get on freq pretty quick and listen away without you knowing. If I'm giving my wife my birthday wishes, I'd prefer to keep it private!

Thoughts...Experiences???

JR, world,

I hear the guberment is squeamish with regard to we civies picking up a "drone" capability. I suppose a camera on a quad is a drone!

Kind of like a 7 year old holding a broken strawberry pop tart up in the school cafeteria can be misconstrued into gun play worthy of suspension...sorry, I'm drifting...but aren't we gettin' a little control happy Mr. big brother???

So I hear there is regulation afoot and ah' comin...what do we know at the moment?

Faith Discussion / Isaiah 1:4-20
« on: October 02, 2014, 08:27:33 AM »
I had a very active mind last night with lots of ideas, concepts, and a sense of abode. I woke with the feeling I needed to jump into the word, so I did.

When I get that sort of feeling I don't necessarily go at the book with any preconceived notion, but rather just let God lead me where he may

This morning the bible, NIV (Large print ;-) while being held by my left hand while I cleared a spot on the desk and made an unsuccessful visual scan for my reading glasses fell open, so I just laid it down. It was open to Isaiah, home of my favorite verse in the bible, IS 6:8.

Looking at it I thought, well, it's a good time to learn more about Isiah so I decided to tackle the whole book. Not today mind you, but I want to study the life of Isiah, and his visions and interactions with God...So I began in chapter 1

Needless to say, my mood quickly changed and I sobered right up from last night's fitful sleep.

It reads starting in verse 4:

Woe to the sinful nation
a people whose guilt is great
a brood of evildoers
children given to corruption
They have forsaken the Lord
they have spurned the holy one of Israel
and have turned their backs on him
Why should you be beaten anymore?
Why do you persist in rebellion?
Your whole head is injured
your whole heart is afflicted
From the sole of your foot to the top of your head
there is no soundness
only wounds and welts
and open sores
not cleansed or bandaged
or soothed with olive oil.
Your country is desolate
your cities burned with fire
your fields are being stripped by foreigners
right before you
laid waste as when overthrown by strangers.
...
Unless the Lord Almighty
had left some survivors
we would have become like Sodom
we would have been like Gomorrah
Hear the word of the Lord
you rulers of Sodom
Listen to the instruction of our God
you people of Gomorrah
The multitude of your sacrifices
what are they to me?
...
Stop bringing meaningless offerings!
Your incense is detestable to me.
...
I cannot bear your worthless assemblies
...
I hate with all my being.
They have become a burden to me;
I am weary of hearing them.
When you spread out your hands to prayer
I hide my eyes from you
even when you offer many prayers
I am not listening.
Your hands are full of blood!

Wash and make yourselves clean.
Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
stop doing wrong.
Learn to do right, seek justice
Defend the oppressed
Take up the cause of the fatherless
Plead the case of the widow

Come now, let us settle this matter
says the Lord.
Though your sins are like scarlet
They shall be white as snow
Though they are red as crimson
they shall be like wool.
If you are willing and obedient
you will eat the good things of the land;
but if you resist and rebel
you will be devoured by the sword
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Now for any cognizant person little needs to be said, as applied to the modern context, we are talking about America. The head, our government is overtaken by evil doers starting with our president. He is aided by a congress and a supreme court who are either muzzled or inept, Same-same as evil, scandal, lies deceit and anything but the will of God is all that comes out of that place. Although hundreds of thousands of good people work for the government, it is but a small rudder that steers a mighty ship.

We have allowed Sodom, in the person of the gay community to dictate molest our good laws and morals. We practically worship the "Freedom" and courage that those who have come out of the closet so to speak have shown. I agree, it took courage to openly admit you are gay. But I see it as open defiance to the word of a living God, and I don't want it to happen but the fires of hell will cleanse that community and all who go against the word of God to aid them and to pervert good people.

And I don't mean to pick on Gays, they are people too and between me and 5 other gays, know which one God loves the most? Neither of us...Yup, he loves us all equally. So if God can love them, and I want to follow him and do as Jesus, I guess that so can I. Have to caveat though, I certainly don't like them very much, but love is not like/dislike. Love thy neighbor means willing to share and indeed sacrifice for them.

Chinese, Japanese, Mexicans, Russians, and a host of others rape and pillage our lands, and we as a nation stand idly by watching "The bachelor." Crime is everywhere while bound and muzzled police officers cry out but are not allowed to do anything. Some Muslims now carry knives in America which they say they plan to use to behead Christians!...YOU HEARING ME??? RIGHT FRIKIN HERE.

Like some of you here, I stood the ramparts in Iraq a few times, and in Afghanistan a few more times and I will not surrender one micro gram of my freedom to some perverted cult that our nation is embracing as some bonafide religion.

Starting today I am going to open carry my weapon. Had been my pocket hidden for years, where I am licensed to carry it, but no more. I'm going from 9mm sub compact all the way to Glock 36, which is the weapon I would prefer to use anyway to stop someone if necessary. And I think that is my right.

God has spoken in Isaiah. Christina brothers. Get on your knees. Men of God, bury your faces in humility and get your lives right now. Repent! I do believe our father will indeed use his sword and we are very, very near it's swift wielding, but I do also believe God will protect his people. We, the followers of Jesus need to be living examples so that we can reach the lost. So that we are credible. I most of all of us, for I battle sin and temptation almost daily, need to do a better job, for I have been given leadership here and in other places.

But in the end, the grasshopper is many, we ants are few. Be mindful of the needs of your neighbor, but resolute in preparing yourself and your family

May God bless all of us and our once mighty nation.

Coffee Induced Early Morning Rant / Veterans are getting angry
« on: October 01, 2014, 11:12:57 AM »

VETERANS RUMBLE-VOTE-STORM WASHINGTON DC!

It doesn't matter if you're a veteran or not.  Please read and forward this to all your e-mail buddies.  Let it go viral.

The 2014 United States elections will be held on Tuesday 4 November 2014. During this midterm election year all 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 33 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be contested. Get out and VOTE!

A movement has started in our armed forces to get out the vote in 2014. They are organizing themselves but this can be done by all of us.

The President, the Commander in Chief, has made the Rules of Engagement (ROE) so difficult our troops are often killed before they can get permission to fight. Nothing has been done to stop our troops from being murdered by the Afghanis they are training either.

Now the President wants the US to sign on to the UNs International Criminal Court (ICC), which would allow the UN's ICC to arrest and try US troops for War Crimes without the legal protections guaranteed under US Law and from which there is no appeal. The President, with his Democratic control of the Senate, has nearly all the power.

If the Non-Establishment Republicans and Conservatives can take back the Senate in 2014 our troops can once again be protected from unnecessary danger.

Please consider this and send it on to your mailing lists.
Interestingly enough, when GWB was president you heard about the military deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan almost daily. With Obama in the White House the mainstream media has been strangely quiet.
More than 1,000 American soldiers have lost their lives in Afghanistan in the last 27 months. This is more than the combined total of the 5 years before that.
Many have died since August. During the last six months over 50 additional NATO and US servicemen have been murdered, inside jobs by those who are hired to be a "force for good in Afghanistan ."
The commander in chief is AWOL. Not a peep, although he ordered the White House flag flown at half-staff for the Sikhs who were killed.

There's a deep disgust, a fury, growing in the ranks of the military against the indifferent incompetence of this president.

It has taken on a dangerous tone. No one knows what to do about him but the anger runs deep as the deaths continue with no strategic end in sight to the idiocy of this war.
Obama has had 5 years to end this futile insanity during which time he has vacationed, golfed, campaigned and generally ignored the plight of our men and women in uniform.
There's now a movement afoot in the armed services to launch a massive “get out the vote” drive against this president's party. Not just current active duty types, but the National Guard, Reserves, the retired and all other prior service members.

This is no small special interest group but many millions of veterans who can have an enormous impact on the outcome of the November 2014 mid-term election if they all respond.
The one million military retirees in Florida alone could mean an overwhelming victory in that state if they all show up at the polls.

It might not keep another one hundred US troops from dying between now and November, but a turnout to vote by the military against this heartbreaking lack of leadership can make a powerful statement that hastens a change to the indifference of this shallow little man who just lets our soldiers die.

Tech/Electronics / Camera Mast
« on: September 30, 2014, 09:32:38 AM »
Hey JR,

Where can I find an affordable telescoping mast that I could bolt to Square D that would erect say 25 feet to which I could mount a decent camera?

I see some brits making some and an American firm, but no prices...

I wonder how I could make one of me own???

 > > Leadership: The Arab Curse In Libya
 > >
 > >
 > > > September 17, 2014: Britain recently revealed that in August they had to deal with a mutiny among 300 Libyan soldiers being trained at a British base. The Libyans were selected to receive combat and leadership training so they could better train and command Libyan soldiers back in Libya. The mutiny occurred when British officers in charge of the training put three of the trainees under guard after police picked them up for being off base without permission. Then twenty other trainees went and threatened the British soldier guarding the three Libyan trainees. The British guard let the three go free rather than risk violence. Senior officers were uncertain about how to handle this insubordination given the nature of Arab military trainees.
 > > > What happened with these Libyans was not uncommon when Westerners are assigned to train Arabs to be military leaders. What these trainers run into is a collection of problems that have long made it difficult for Arab, and many other poor (and often Moslem) nations to establish democratic governments or prosperous economies. A lot of the problem has to do with culture, especially culture influenced by Islam. There are a number of reasons for this and the most important problems are;
 > > > Most Arab countries are a patchwork of different tribes and groups, and Arab leaders survive by playing one group off against another. Loyalty is to one's group, not the nation. Most countries are dominated by a single group that is usually a minority (Bedouins in Jordan, Alawites in Syria, Sunnis in Iraq, Nejdis in Saudi Arabia). All of which means that officers are assigned not by merit but by loyalty and tribal affiliation.
 > > > Islamic schools favor rote memorization, especially of scripture. Most Islamic scholars are hostile to the concept of interpreting the Koran (considered the word of God as given to His prophet Mohammed). This has resulted in looking down on Western troops that will look something up that they don't know. Arabs prefer to fake it, and pretend it's all in their head. Despite that improvisation and innovation is generally discouraged. Arab armies go by the book, Western armies rewrite the book as needed and thus usually win.
 > > > There is no real use of NCOs (sergeants or petty officers). Officers and enlisted troops are treated like two different social castes and there is no effort to bridge the gap using career NCOs. Enlisted personnel are treated harshly. Training accidents that would end the careers of US officers are commonplace in Arab armies, and nobody cares. The troops do not appreciate this and that dislike often manifests itself in unpleasant ways.
 > > > Officers tend to be despised by their troops, and this does not bother the officers much it all. Many Arab officers simply cannot understand how treating the troops decently will make them better soldiers. Westerners have a hard time convincing a lot of Arab leaders on this point and those that do understand and implement these ideas risk ridicule for not being authentic (as an Arab).
 > > > Paranoia prevents adequate training. Arab tyrants insist that their military units have little contact with each other, thus insuring that no general can became powerful enough to overthrow them. Units are purposely kept from working together or training on a large scale. Arab generals don't have as broad a knowledge of their armed forces as do their Western counterparts. Promotions are based more on political reliability than combat proficiency. Arab leaders prefer to be feared, rather than respected, by their soldiers. This approach leads to poorly trained armies and low morale. A few rousing speeches about "Moslem brotherhood" before a war starts does little to repair the damage.
 > > > Arab officers often do not trust each other. While an American infantry officer can be reasonably confident that the artillery officers will conduct their bombardment on time and on target, Arab infantry officers seriously doubt that their artillery will do its job on time or on target. This is a fatal attitude in combat.
 > > > Arab military leaders consider it acceptable to lie to subordinates and allies in order to further their personal agenda. This had catastrophic consequences during all of the Arab-Israeli wars and continues to make peace difficult between Israelis and Palestinians. When called out on this behavior, Arabs will assert that they were "misunderstood."
 > > > While Western officers and NCOs are only too happy to impart their wisdom and skill to others (teaching is the ultimate expression of prestige), Arab officers try to keep any technical information and manuals secret. To Arabs, the value and prestige of an individual is based not on what he can teach, but on what he knows that no one else knows.
 > > > While Western officers thrive on competition among themselves, Arab officers avoid this as the loser would be humiliated. Better for everyone to fail together than for competition to be allowed, even if it eventually benefits everyone.
 > > > Westerners are taught leadership and technology; Arab officers are taught only technology. Leadership is given little attention as officers are assumed to know this by virtue of their social status as officers.
 > > > Initiative is considered a dangerous trait. So subordinates prefer to fail rather than make an independent decision. Battles are micromanaged by senior generals, who prefer to suffer defeat rather than lose control of their subordinates. Even worse, an Arab officer will not tell a US ally why he cannot make the decision (or even that he cannot make it), leaving Western officers angry and frustrated because the Arabs won't make a decision. The Arab officers simply will not admit that they do not have that authority.
 > > > Lack of initiative makes it difficult for Arab armies to maintain modern weapons. Complex modern weapons require on the spot maintenance, and that means delegating authority, information, and tools. Arab armies avoid doing this and prefer to use easier to control central repair shops. This makes the timely maintenance of weapons difficult.
 > > > Security is maniacal. Everything even vaguely military is top secret. While Western promotion lists are routinely published, this rarely happens in Arab armies. Officers are suddenly transferred without warning to keep them from forging alliances or networks. Any team spirit among officers is discouraged.
 > > > All these traits were reinforced, from the 1950s to the 1990s, by Soviet advisors. To the Russians, anything military was secret, enlisted personnel were scum, they had no use for NCOs and everyone was paranoid about everyone else. These were not "communist" traits, but Russian customs that had existed for centuries and were adopted by the communists to make their dictatorship more secure from rebellion. Arab dictators avidly accepted this kind of advice, but are still concerned about how rapidly the communist dictatorships all came tumbling down between 1989 and 1991.
 > > > Such a system can produce fearsome looking armies, at least on paper. But these troops cannot n survive an encounter with well trained and led soldiers. Even fanatical Islamic terrorists are often too much to handle. This is still happening throughout the Arab world as can be seen currently in Libya and Iraq.

All of the perspective pilots were "princes" of some sort or other and would NOT accept any criticism of any sort relative to their flying ability. It was a monstrous clusterfuk.

Hide Site / Some thoughts to get you started
« on: September 28, 2014, 06:04:13 PM »
You have set up a bug out bag, trained some, weaponed up, lost some weight, changed your attitude, changed the way you save money and a host of other things.

So where are you going?

Let me guess...The mountains or  a national forest...right along with half a zillion other folks who think they will arrive to a hippie commune serving deer chili and weaving baskets to carry the excess millet seed bread!

OK anyone who realistically thinks that any of that will work probably need not be reading material on this web site, but just plan for that trip to Disney and enjoy yourself.

A hide site may be your home. If you are rural and well established and more that a few days walk from a urban center, don't move. Dig in right there. Your plan would have Plan A as a "Bug-In" scenario where you stay in place, get security up, go dark and bring some supporting like minded people

Not about the people. Test them! Anyone can talk a good line and these days from Don's perspective, most do. I remember the guy in the Preppers show who was a bit larger in circumference that he was tall, and was wearing a kit (Vest) and sporting a M1A was hopping around like some bunny. from defensive position to defensive position. They were all within 50 feet of each other and on level ground...nuff said. Well, not enough just yet. I remember chuckling, actually rolling laughter because I realized this guy just might survive. You see a maraudering band of now killers who had been observing him for hours through the scope of a 300 Win Mag decided this guy was so funny, they weren't going to shoot him, but keep him around for amusement.

People. Test them. invite them out to help you dig some defensive firing or observation positions. Ask them to bring say 100 jars of canned protein. Ask them to show up with a shotgun. pistol, then give them some range time to see if they actually know where the safety is. A 12 gage and 25 rounds of #8 is not a well thought out evasion weapon.

Vett, vett, and vett your people again. I served with mine, down range, I know what to expect of them...

If you are in the burbs of a town, well you'll need a plan to get rural, to your place. You could buy that place. You could purchase land with several other like minded families, or maybe lease it. Survival is serious...I cashed out a chunk of my retirement to buy a place. Heck if Jesus comes back I can always sell it to get my money back, right?

If you are near a population center, for me that is Cincinnati and Northern KY, it will not work. Likely you will fall victim to crime long before you end up in some DHS camp, which will also fall apart in time. No sir, you have to get out. We talk extensively about vehicle modifications such as big fuel and lots of essentials (Read truck, not Prius)

Look for something with water, forest (Cover) more that several days walking distance from the city. After a few weeks, folks won't be walking the roads anymore because the highwaymen who will emerge once more will be robbing or worse, every hapless soul they come across. Choke points like bridges over rivers will be favorite kill zones. They are in war, so I suspect they will be here as well and except for major avenues of transportation, with no police.

What, no police you say? Well I have a metric tonne (Used the queens spelling there, eh?) of LEO friends. I know them as loving fathers and husbands. What happens to their families while they are fighting off some crime gang making a run on Walmart? Well they fall victim of course, and that's why they will not be present for duty. I pray for their safety, those brave warriors. In fact in my survival plan I plan to stand shoulder to shoulder with them for a time, but there are so many bad people out there, that shear numbers will prevail. The cops will stop serving the public and protect their families. They will later emerge as that sheep Dog I live to reference. We soldiers will as well, but when the thing kicks off and is burning furiously for a month or two, we are going to just dig in and wait for when it is safer, say when the population has been reduced by half, or there abouts.

I know how this all sounds, like reality...

You need a place or two you can walk to in the initial phases, just in case your transportation is compromised. But allow me to make a suggestion, In Army Special operations training that I attended some years ago, we were taught how, to, how do I say it, hmmm, well, procure cars. I'd say those guys are pretty good at survival in bad environments, so that might be a skillset you need to train...just saying.

And another note about walking. Initially while everying is wondering what just happened, you will be able to walk on a road at night. A better plan is to walk off road and at night. From my experience where some ninja types had to package up a bunch of us aviators and move us unnoticed, which is the equivalent of police moving civilians I suppose in a scaled world. Those guys moved at night and through really bad stuff. Like I wouldn't go in there on the best of days. I noted that we averaged maybe 6 kilometers a night. Math man says 6km X 6 the multiplier for converting to miles is equal to 3.2 miles!

Say you don't have endless miles of North Carolina briar patches, wait a minute vines and yes, the occasional electric fence, you might move much farther. I'd suggest you do some test runs and see how far you get without falling off a Clift (One of my guys did that one night...yea like whoosh and he was gone, then Ker-plunk!) Another guy Stepped up, then lost his balance. He was doing his hour carrying a heavy pack. He fell backward and was knocked out like a light. Later he exhibited confusion, then vomiting...yup, concussion. 0300 urgent medevac out of the Urarrie forest!

So what am I saying here? Tow things, train and plan. Or plan then try to execute your plan and then in the after-action review, modify the plan. Repeat every time some new factor enters the plan. A new person who is stepping up to help, a new member of the family, a knee surgery, and all manner of things. You want to occasionally validate your plan. And not the whole thing. Don't take off and walk to Mexico. Have a buddy drop you along your route and meet you at another point in a day or two. Have a phone and give him the plan so he can tell us and we can come get you, but do it!

Another factor will come into play after a week or so. Trust will evaporate. The masses walking to the hippie commune in Kentucky who are approaching hillbillyville will find themselves being turned back or shot down. Country people will not openly absorb "Foreigners" forever. We can't help all the grasshoppers who expect us to feed them. When it all breaks down, we need to feed ourselves and make sure the ag machine does not break down or else no one walks out of this bad dream.

I just suggested to you that there is a window of time when you can actually execute a movement to your BO site easily. Thereafter you will be swimming across rivers down stream and just out of sight of that bridge and the murderous people who occupy it. You will be looking at trees for the moss to figure out where north is and hunkering down in briar patches or perhaps an old barn, well if you're smart you will. I don't know when that movement time is, but I'd say after a week or so, and the killing veil has been broken your chances on the road will be greatly diminished. For that reason I built SquareD a survival and evasion truck. I built it to survive gunfire and get through areas I'd rather not be. I learned about all that first hand in Baghdad and Kabul.

I like hide sites with water, cover, shelter, which is well off the beaten trail. I have such a place. One has to exit the paved road and travel on trails which barely support a vehicle just to get to my front gate. I intend to keep it that way with minimal improvement. I'll have some crops, shelter, fuel, electricity, supplies, and necessary life support cached in various locations known only to my circle of friends.

Perhaps over time I will show you how I did and am doing that

Until then, get into your plan, train, get in shape, develop a plan and get serious

To your Prep and ultimate survival.

Asuming you are a crafty fellow and own a grinder and a welder or can borrow one, here's a neat little trick for you

Did you ever notice how low the shocks hang below the axle tube?

Well in a word, too low...well, OK that's two words.

They tend to catch on all sorts of stuff and actually constitute the lowest point on the truck except for the big diff.

We'll use a 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500 for this conversion (C-Max) from this site

Here's the stock bracket just waiting to hang you up on a rock or some road debris:

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT ANYONE ELSE, BUT I'M SICK AND TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT MUSLIMS, AND OUR INTERNATIONAL EMBARASSMENT OF A PRESIDENT TALK ABOUT "AMERICAS MUSLIM HERITAGE" MUSLIM OUTREACH PROGRAMS MY ASS.

Are you kidding me?

PLEASE SHARE WITH EVERYONE

Did you know that Hilliard, Ohio has a special room for Muslims to pray?

in the High School........... YES, call the school if you aren't believing. ....

Sorry NO CHRISTIAN, Jewish or any other religion available..........

This was checked out on Politi facts and Ask and both confirmed it.

I can't begin to tell you how livid I am over this. Our children are not allowed to recite The Lord's Prayer, not allowed to bring a Bible to school, not allowed to wear a Christian themed T-Shirt, not allowed to have Bible study classes at school, not allowed to display a picture of Jesus, and now this Peace of Crap President, is going to use federal tax dollars to promote Islam to our children.

Enough is ENOUGH ! Where are all these "Christian-hating, separation of church and state" atheists? Why aren't they lining up the to sue the federal government over the use of federal tax dollars to promote a religion in our public schools? I would be willing to bet that nobody will hear a peep out of the "Freedom From Religion" organization.

Obama Administration Announces Nationwide Muslim Outreach Program For Children Grades K-12

American children gathered around a Muslim learning about the Qur'an... for school credit.

Washington, DC - At a press conference Friday afternoon, President Obama announced plans for the first ever federally funded Muslim outreach program.

#

The program will be available nationwide for all elementary school students grade K-12 beginning February 1st, 2014.

#

The program is designed to educate children about the fundamentals of the Muslim religion and Islamic belief. President Obama spoke with reporters to explain why it is so important that these outreach programs exist. "The Muslim community deserves our full understanding and respect," Obama said. "We have killed millions of Muslims overseas since the September 11th attacks.

#

These folks are not all bad. In fact, most of them are hardworking citizens just like you and me. I encourage every student in America to participate in your school's Muslim outreach program. Learn about the Muslim community, the beauty of the Sunnah and the magic of the Qur'an."

#

35-year-old Paul Horner, a teacher at Starks Elementary School in Louisiana, told MSNBC he is excited about the new programs. "I think anything a child can learn is good. We need more learning in this country. And, these classes are not mandatory but children can use them as extra credit towards other classes.

#

For example, if Becky has a D+ in math she can simply take a three week after school class on the Qur'an and now Sally has an A in Math.. How great is that?"

#

The Muslim youth outreach program is designed to help young people from different cultures work together to break down ethnic barriers. Their goal is to help promote a greater respect for other cultures, understanding while at the same time learning about all that culture has to offer.

#

Khaled Matei, who is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party, told CNN he is pleased with Obama and his actions. "I spoke with President Obama by telephone yesterday and personally thanked him for what he is doing for the Muslim community," Matei said. "This is definitely a step in the right direction I explained to him. Praise Allah." If any parents of students would like to volunteer to teach the Muslim religion you can call the United States Muslim Outreach hotline at (785) 273-0325   (785) 273-0325 .

Do we do this for other cultures and religions? NO

Do we federally fund religion for other religions? NO

Powerplant, Driveline, and Braking / How to build a snorkel
« on: September 27, 2014, 12:08:50 PM »
I built a snorkel from scratch for my Tundra and later one for the SquareD project survival truck.

It is really pretty generic to just about any vehicle, so I'll lay it out here and you can get the basic idea and apply it to your vehicle

First why do you need a snorkel?

Most folks would answer deep water fording and if you ever got into deep water where your truck did not A. Float, of B. Sink, then keeping the engine from sucking in water is mandatory. Water intake in a sufficient quantity will immediately hydraulically lock the engine. That does bad things like bending the connecting rods and blowing out the sides of blocks...you know things like that which will definitely stop forward movement as well as render your vehicle in need of a new engine.

You probably need to plan to be able to ford water of around 20" depth, and given the low sitting of most (so called) off road SUV's of today is a significant challenge. At that depth they are floating or buoyant enough to lift the tires off the bottom giving you no traction while you slowly fill with water and sink.

A lifted truck should be able to handle much more, and I like 36" as a good working number. That's pretty deep water. you're 5'9" right? Well do the math...would you be comfortable driving across a stream past your waist in depth? Now let me start shooting at you, then rethink your decision. Correct, you're driving straight ahead, and hopefully you can cross.

So for the evasion piece of survival, if it should actually ever happen, it would be nice to be able to do it.

But a snorkel does a lot more. Air is pulled from the fender well. The tire lives down there as well. The tire is the thing that makes that dust cloud you see behind you. Granted there is an inter-space if you will that reduces the amount of dust, but the air your engine breathes is placed in one of the dustiest environments anyone could find.

Evernotice when driving down a dusty road that the dust generally stays below the top fender line? You could crack your window if you wanted for ventilation, yes?
And above your head is pretty clean air as long as you are not in a convoy. so placing the air inlet for the only engine you have that is hauling you away from certain bad times, onward toward hope and a chance, in the best location on your vehicle just makes sense...Tracking?

Assuming you are let's build this snorkel system

Vehicle is a 2001 Toyota Tundra with a lot of mods and a supercharged v8 gasser.

First I selected a 3" diameter (Which turned out to be too small, read: Restrictive) 90 degree silicone bend and fitted an aircraft 3" aluminum flange to that

Tires, Wheels, and Suspension / Tundra SAS conversion
« on: September 26, 2014, 12:46:40 PM »
Years ago I discovered the TRD off road package I had on my Ivan Steward edition Tundra meant it was capable of pulling off the road onto a parking lot or driveway. the truck had 4WD in the event the driveway was gravel, and even low range in the event you had groceries in the back seat.

I was so disappointed with the off-highway capability of that truck that one day I decided to commit to a solid front axle.

I thought I'd show that commitment by simply putting it on jack stands, then using a plasma torch to get the stock junk on the ground!

Self Defense and Tactics / PPCT
« on: September 26, 2014, 12:24:50 PM »
Anyone ever heard of a guy named Bruce Siddle and PPCT? (Pressure point control tactics)

I had the pleasure of hiring this guy back in middle earth when we were fighting the orks or Klingons, or someone. Anyway he is a walking talking frontal system of destruction.

Back then I was off line, and setting up the my Spec ops communities training company. One of the senior hawk instructor pilots says he met this guy over is some alphabet organization and we needed him.

So for 10K for the week, Bruce comes down and creates 10 instructors from 10 ninjas we had sitting around. WHOA...Awsome stuff...

He later personally trained me as well, and I assisted him in training a bunch of people from a particular part of the business world.

He wrote a book, "Sharpening the warrior's edge" which explains the anatomical reasons for what you do.

I taught some women, small ones, how to disarm a gun or an edge weapon from a would be attacker. Then I put them in an aircraft with an ex basketball player, as in a college one. I gave this big guy a red gun (Hard rubber), told him to grab the young lady anyway he wanted and start forward from the back. I sat near the front.

If he could tap me, then he could fly the plane into any thing he wanted. Her job was to save us. Took her about 5 seconds and this big guy was reeling back from a pistol that she now had in HER hands which was coming back toward his temple at about 100 MPH. I yelled stop before she hit him, as in training I did allow contact some times

I'd concentrate on disarming techniques and a couple of stuns and you'd be well protected even against walking oak trees!

Here's one when I was sketching stories about my son while he was growing up...Well, let me qualify, my first son, there are three total!

Chapter 1

Dad The Trash Blew Up!

By

Donald Harward

Raising a family was and continues to be a source of fun and amusement for me. Kids do the craziest things and we as parents are wholly unprepared for the daunting task at hand. Having a family while knee deep in a career is all the more challenging. There always seems to be a fine line one has to walk between career and family needs with the balance in constant ebb and flow. With my family that career was one in the military, specifically, the US Army.

Throughout this story and the many which will follow the focus will center around the exploits of a young boy with my namesake, Don. I will attempt to detail his many experiences while growing up in the surreal world of the military while living in a family that moved around the world and was very near ground zero for a number of historical occurrences.

This story will not take place in the beginning of his wildly fantastic adventure but about one third of the way to him becoming a young man and finally leaving. He would have been somewhere around thirteen years old and in the sixth grade. I am a bit foggy about the exact timeframe, but not at all on the incident that gives its name to this story. No that is a very vivid memory indeed. This story takes place in our home, our very first house tucked away in Rural Tennessee on Lannom Road in Clarksville. If you have ever heard the Elvis song, last train from Clarksville, that’s the same place!

We hadn’t been there at our “new” house all that long, I had purchased it a few months earlier and was enjoying having Don live there and adjust to his new life. We had recently lived in Main Sondheim, Germany where we occupied a smallish apartment for the previous several years. We felt a loss from having left that friendly village where we were one of only two American families in a town of about a thousand. While there, over the months and years we had worn ourselves into the very fabric of that town and into the hearts of many of its residents. We had grown to love them as much as they loved us and in those early days in Clarksville the thoughts of lost friends and of that place was never all that far away.

When I first came back from Europe I had been assigned to a classified (secret) unit in the Army located at nearby Fort Campbell. Because of the difficult and demanding training requirements I had to endure, there was literally no time for anything else other than training and some badly needed sleep. Because of all of that Little Don could not accompany me when I first reported to Ft. Campbell and for many months thereafter. Instead he stayed with my father and mother in Maryland.

He was many hundreds of miles away and my off time was nearly nonexistent, so we saw each other very little for the first few months after we all left Germany. I sort of liked the idea, however, that he would get to live with his grandparents for a time and get to know them much better. From all reports, things were going well for all concerned but we wanted to be back together once again.

I didn’t really have a plan for where to live when I first reported to that new unit. I had never owned a house before, only lived in various apartments during those early years. To own a home seemed like an unobtainable dream to me, still a young officer with limited financial means. But as time went by I thought more and more about living in the country, in a real house that we could call our own.

I had grown up in a rural setting in a very old town, Abingdon, in Harford County, Maryland near the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. My memories of that place were thick enough to slice with a knife. There was the church I occasioned, Cokesbury, which was the site of the first Methodist College in the colonies. On nearby Ha-Ha Branch, a small community a couple miles away, some of our family still lived on land which had been granted to them by Lord Baltimore, the first British Ruler of that area of what would become the United States. I had lived a youth of outdoor adventure replete with almost daily hunting, fishing, sailing, or similar activities. My brother and later my sister had known real freedom and we did not know of the widespread crime and concerns of our modern America. No, back then a child was free to roam the country as he saw fit, and the next adventure was waiting for the adventuresome just on the other side of the large Oak tree or around the bend.

Having enough maturity at the time to realize the importance of all of that as it pertains to the development of a young man’s character, I wanted that for Don also. That was the spark and motivation for the decision to seek a proper house in the country where he would learn and grow. That house, as it turned out was very easy to find. I must say and give due credit here to a certain divine spirit that in retrospect has been at the root of a great many of my decisions which I have made along the way. When we are young we have a strong belief in self. We are strong, fast, fleet of foot, and seemingly on top of our game. It is complete folly though for one moment to think that we actually did any of that in our own power. Actually (and in my opinion) that it is only with a great effort from somewhere else that actually contrives to connect all the dots and get us through to a good decision and outcome.

That good decision for me began with selecting a realtor of local distinction and by paying him a visit on one of my rare Saturday’s which I had off. I even remember the office. It was a brownish affair with cedar plywood panels adorning the sides and a rather average awning and single glass door. More like a home actually than an office in appearance, it had the immediate feel of being “right.”

Inside sat a husband and wife team who listened patiently while I went on about our particular needs and circumstances. They asked the pertinent questions, politely interrupting me only on a couple occasions while they scribbled a couple notes and nodded. I thought I’d try to make an impression, and while describing exactly what I wanted, also make me look like something other than the complete novice which I was at that time.

“We are looking for a three bedroom on some land out in the country with a wood burning heater and we want it to be brown!” The last little bit of my statement elicited both a raising of the eyebrows and a smile. The gentleman realtor answered immediately, “I know the exact house you want, but I’d suggest we look at two others first then visit the one which I believe will fit your needs perfectly.

He owned a large Cadillac Coupe Deville. Powered by a 500 cubic inch V-eight and looking like the Queen Mary with its somewhat faded aqua blue paint, we all got in and drove away. The first stop was to a home in a nearby community which had the proper size and number of bedrooms. That house was in fact brand new and had a price tag of some sixty thousand dollars. Back in nineteen eighty four that was big money. Especially for a junior pilot struggling with various payments including a new car. Further the home had many other homes built all around it. I couldn’t picture little Don leaving the house on a hunt for squirrels with his trusty twenty-two rifle, so we moved on.

The next home was a similar design. This second house was a ranch of about fifteen hundred square feet with three smallish bedrooms and a couple bath rooms. It too, would meet our basic needs, but was a little bit too much money and didn’t have open ground on which to roam.

Those two homes were located in the suburbs of Clarksville which exhibited the typical urban sprawl of a growing bedroom community. Mighty Fort Campbell was the economic engine of that place where it housed the mighty 101st Airborne division and my secretive unit. Over twenty thousand hardened combat troopers worked and trained there and supported a town of fifty thousand just outside the gates of that one hundred forty five thousand acre base. All of that is situated on the northern side of the Cumberland River which flows up from Nashville to the south and empties into the huge Kentucky Lake area to the north west. On one side of that river was suburbia and a wonderful old town, on the other side was near wilderness.

Driving along riverside drive on the south side of Clarksville we turned southwest in that giant Cadillac. Not far away and looming ever larger was an ancient narrow Iron bridge that looked like it had already lived its better days. We made a right turn and started up a long, climbing ramp that led directly toward that bridge. Pulling onto it I wondered if it was even two lanes wide? Was it groaning and creaking as we made our way across? It led to a rampart of hills overlooking Clarksville to the north east. The area we were entering was known as Cumberland Heights, but locals referred to it as string town. I never was quite sure why the name, but I can attest that it was like a different country by comparison to nearby Clarksville. Only hardened locals lived “out here.”

The road wandered from turn to turn as it meandered along the crest of the ridge ever farther away from Clarksville and from civilization. I wasn’t paying that much attention but in about two to three miles we slowed and made a hard left turn onto an oil coated  dirt road. A crooked green and white street sign sticking out of the ground in a honey suckle patch said “Lannom Road.” We would learn later that the road had been named for our very neighbor, Mr. Lannom who had actually pushed enough dirt around to create the road in the first place when he built his house many years earlier, literally out in the woods.

At the very end of Lannom Road a gravel driveway on the left curved around gracefully back to the right, first downhill then back up and ended right in front of a single level brown ranch house. It was deep in the woods positioned on the top of a spur overlooking what locals called a “holler,” which was a valley. At the bottom of that “holler” flowed a perennial stream which worked a crooked path down to the Cumberland river not too far away.

Planting a foot on that gravel, I knew this was the place. Don could make a good run from here. The woods would teach him, the locals would harden him and teach him country ways, and together we would grow and experience many things here. The tour of the house’s interior was almost inconsequential as I just had that feeling that this was going to be our home. The master bedroom was small, as was everything else including the asking price. That was a very affordable $45,000 and it even had a wood burning stove augmenting the heat pump which droned in the back side of the house. For the added sum of only one thousand dollars, I could purchase the adjacent six acres of land making out total property a little over seven acres.

Mr. Realtor was very adept at reading his customers and he had done his job well with me. He saw the look on my face and I think he could see my mind’s eye visualizing my watching Little Don run through the woods on a day of discovery. “Do you want to make an offer” he asked? “I believe the seller is very motivated.” While looking over the expanse of the “holler,” I replied, “Yes, this is the place, this is our new home.”

The process went very well and also quickly, as does nearly all things that are of divine origin. In no time we had an agreement with the seller and a contract, and a willing bank to loan me the money. I called little Don the next week to tell him the good news. He would soon be coming to Tennessee to live in his new home and lay claim for the first time to his very own bedroom. Maybe it meant more to me than him, you’ll have to ask him that question, but I recall it a sure felt right at that time.

Before long, Don had come and life was settling into a familiar pattern. He had quickly found new friends, been integrated into his new elementary school, and even gotten a dog. I was very pleased with how he seemed to be assimilated into the local southern culture and before long, we had the feeling as though we had lived there for a long time. I was surprised at just how fast Don was developing. Before when living in that tiny third floor German apartment, he was somewhat limited by what he could do, but not here. In these rolling hills and thick woods was a life unfolding and exploding in all directions. I was still very busy with the Army and was often gone on some training mission or supporting this organization or that. The world was a very dangerous place at the time, as it remains to this day, I suppose, and my new outfit was a sort of nine-one-one force policing all of it. The calls would come unexpectedly at all hours and I’d be off for an undetermined period of time. But after returning I’d get another snap shot of my son’s continual development.

While constantly expanding the horizons on what he could do, and what I would allow him to do, he attained more and more responsibility. I was allowing him to venture out to who knows where for hours on end. He was shooting, playing sports, chasing the dog all over creation and just having a run of it. While allowing the growth outside of the home to continue, I was also encouraging more and more responsibility in the home. Don was very receptive to the idea, always eager to please and continually seeking more and more responsibility.

I had a lively hobby of working on cars at that time. It seems we always had some car project going and on some of them, Don was very much involved. The garage we had at the time was actually in the basement below the first floor. There, one tiny bay was the site of engine builds, body repair and repainting and hotroding of all sorts. Following any project, the mess created was usually considerable. Afterward or periodically during a project I would clean up the mess and bag the cans and other plastic and metal items for disposal in a nearby dump. You see, we did not have the luxury of a trash removal service so the accepted technique was to burn the paper products, compost the food and organic items and haul the metal and plastics to the dump. To those ends we all had compost piles and burn barrels.

We owned a fifty-five gallon barrel and thirty gallon trash can for that purpose. About two to three times a week, I would gather up the bags of paper and Don and I would haul them a short distance down the hill to a leveled off spot we used to burn the trash. Don seemed fascinated by the power and the mystery of the fire thing and as time went along, I would let him do more and more to help. Eventually, I let him start the fire and monitor it as was required to prevent accidental spreading to the nearby grasses and trees.

On the fateful day, I seem to remember it was an autumn day. I was relaxing on the couch watching TV following a long “day at the office.” My eyes were heavy and I was looking forward to supper and an early night. I had left the house around five AM to go to PT (physical training) on post and had flown some during the day. The cold weather had taken a toll and all in all, I was toast. Little Don presented himself and asked if he could burn the trash. The question was presented in such a manner as to suggest, that he wanted to burn it himself without my presence. I thought about it for a moment. This was one of those decisive moments and a chance for me to show him that I trusted him with something potentially dangerous. There didn’t seem to be all that much risk, a recent rain had dampened the leaves and grass so the risk of a fire spreading was low. “Sure Don, go ahead, have fun.” I could see the slight change in posture as he crossed into a new realm of trust between him and his dad.

It’s funny, but you are just never prepared for all the folly that is always waiting patiently just out of sight to erupt onto your placid landscape and smack you right in the forehead. I believe I was somewhere between sleepy land and the conscious world when I heard the first in a series of explosions.

I came wide awake instantly, but my mind was not there in my house. Nothing fit just right at that moment. I thought I just heard a volley of 2.75 inch rockets slam into the earth producing that muffled “Whump, whump” sound. Then in an instant I knew it wasn’t that at all. I jerked my head around toward the window just in time to see a ball of black smoke spreading outward from where the burn barrels were. I got an instant sick feeling of doom as I flew out the door and turned downhill toward where Don should be. I didn’t know what I was about to encounter, or how this had happened, but I was scared, real scared. In a flash I saw him staggering uphill walking toward the house. He was covered with black soot from head to toe! He looked just like Wiley Coyote who had just been blown up while holding a handful of dynamite. His black stained cheeks had two trails of pink skin where the tears were washing away the soot. His hair was full of tatters of paper and everything else imaginable, but I could see no visible damage. He was shaking and crying as I walked the last couple feet to him but no blood. Through those green tear filled eyes he looked up at me and uttered those words I will never forget, “Dad, the trash blew up!” I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry!

After some inspection I could see he was not harmed at all, just startled and scared. Behind him beside a trash barrel which had been partially blown apart were the remnants of some shattered spray paint cans. I immediately knew what had happened. While grabbing the bags of trash he had collected one or two which contained paint cans from where I had cleaned the garage earlier. Those bags were intended for the trash dump and obviously, not for the burn barrel. In his zeal, born from his newly found trust, he had collected all the trash in the spirit of doing a good job and impressing his father. But as with all things the result is not always what we might expect. The outcome from this little “learning experience” was not a bad one, but certainly was a memorable one. As it would go with many of the things which would happen to Don over the years, he would survive intact and in good spirit. He would as we say in the Army, “live to fight another day.”

Proverbs 4:10-15

Listen my son, accept what I say,

And the years of your life will be many.

I instruct you in the way of wisdom

and lead you along straight paths.

When you walk, your steps will not be hampered;

when you turn, you will not stumble

Hold on to instruction, do not let it go;

guard it well, for it is your life.

Do not set foot on the path of the wicked

or walk in the way of the evildoers

Avoid it, do not travel on it

and turn from it and go your own way...

I thought I'd post up things as I feel led to do so

Today, before studying he word of God, I was talking with my wife. She stated "Bad times are coming to us here in America." She continued by saying that as she strived to get closer to God, that he was making her aware of some things.

Those things are the same things that are weighing on the hearts and minds of every believer here. Something is indeed coming. You know it, I know it. Our nation has unfortunately turned away from him and has indeed turned evil. It is everywhere you look. Our TVs are polluted with all manner of evil and abomination. Magazines?? Same. Literally everywhere...

No news here, we all know it, and we see it. If you are a believer and spend any time in the word, then the things you read there  either smacks in the face of the American scene to some extent, or serves to convict us as a nation.

BTW, I would encourage every man of God out there to spend quiet time with him in the word every single day. I don't always, but Later note that I don't feel grounded when I skip it or start with something else.

Having said that, this morning's reading led me to James. I always wondered what it would have been like being the brother of Jesus, so I am naturally fascinated by James, and I really pay attention to what he says.

James 1:2-5, 12-14 Consider it pure Joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish it's work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking in anything. IF any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Blessed is the one who preservers under trial because having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. When tempted, no one would say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot b tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone, but each person is dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is full grown, gives birth to death.

I'll bet you boneheads never knew I owned and built one of these monsters
What I would consider a slightly more capable Tahoe, it does have good angles and when I off roaded it, the thing did fairly well, although it broke parts.
It has lesser than HD parts...things like a semi floater 14 bolt but with an electric locker. Decent ground clearance, but not enough
Lots of chrome (That don't get you home)
a really comfortable interior and a fuel economy sometimes barely in the 12's

The truck badly needs a diesel and real 1 ton axles, then you'd really have something.
Never the less I took a swing at one and here all that is
