Starting my .44 collection
« on: February 10, 2024, 01:46:29 PM »
Knowing I am buying one of the Smith .44 magnum pistols, and before I even owned the gun, I started easing into acquiring ammunition.

I picked up some 240-grain cartridges for breaking in the gun, and some solid loads I want to test for penetration for my possible bear load carries for the upcoming trip to Wyoming.

Tex pointed me to the shotshells or snake loads.

I think I'll carry 6 of them in my holster belt loops.

These are flat-nosed rascals that I have absolutely no idea about how they shoot or perform since I don't own a gun that will shoot them (YET).

HSM boasts 1260 FPS from a big flat-nosed bullet. That's doing a whole bunch of work right there!
