Thought this might be an interesting topic to see what everyone carries on a given day. More curiosity than anything else and it's a good way to get a feel for what works for different people.
I'll start, today I'm carrying a Ruger LCP in .380 with Hornsby Critical Defense rounds in it. Not the biggest i can grab, but the most convenient for in the pocket.
The range is clear, fire when ready.

Yeah, I'll get some updated pics showing the holsters etc.
It's comfortable, did a couple miles this morning on my back. We went around 500 ft in elevation over course of the hike and it wears well. Will come in handy on our summer trip through Yellowstone & especially Glacier where you need to hike to see anything.....

I'll be the first to ask, how were you going anywhere on your back, makes me feel dirty just trying to figure it out. :embarrassed:
-
Had SAR training today.....45 in the pack.

A glock. Pick one. G23 with hydroshock today. Wife blew me away when she said she wanted to practice with the bedside weapon. A G21 with Arredondo extension mag, ghost ring sights and a steam light TLR2 light laser combo

Reminds me of a saying
" I carry my pistol to fight my way to my shotgun to fight my way to my AR"

Nothing as I can't have it in the vehicle when I drive in to the plant. But had I carried it would have been the Springfield XDS .45 loaded with Winchester PDX or the Glock 30 loaded with the same.

Actually your employer (in Texas) can not refuse you the ability to keep a weapon in your vehicle on company property. That law was passed about 3 years ago. My employer was the same way but now I can legally have it in my car on company property and they can't retaliate. This is assuming you aren't on a federally regulated facility and you Te subject to state laws.

For reference.
Can employers prohibit workers from storing licensed handguns in their private vehicles?Generally, no. In 2011, Senate Bill No. 321 was signed into law. Under SB 321, most public and private employersin Texas may not prohibit employees, who hold a license to carry a handgun, from transporting or storing a lawfully possessed rearm in the employee’s locked, privately owned motor vehicle in a parking lot, parking garage or other area provided by the employer. Of course, there are several exceptions, including, vehicles leased or owned bythe employer; vehicles parked in lots owned or controlled by schools; or speci ed properties owned or leased by chemical manufacturers or oil and gas re ners.

I'm with you BigDave. I carried the same at church today in my man bag, an Eastsport backpack. Glad to say I didn't have to use it.
-
Tex, unfortunately in Wa, I had to tell the boss, I won't lie to you as long as you don't ask the wrong question. At the road shops it was my responsibility to see that the private vehicles did not have weapons in them. I ask all the employees to not keep the guns in the rack where they could be seen and not talk about what if anything was in the rig. Win win for everyone at that point, even the union was happy.
-
Bob, reason #642 why I'm not in a state other than Texas. :-)

Indiana had same law as Texas, owner of former shop I gm'ed for once told me he didn't care if I had a pistol in my truck. I said that's good considering state law allows me to do so currently. As you can assume he was not aware of gun laws even as they pertained to his business. Now he could have had issue of the pistol on my ankle had he been aware it was there......

If I read this correctly, I believe my employer would fall under this section here. I'm a process operator/technician at a chemical plant in La Porte. I know I can park outside the gates in the contractor parking lot and leave it in my truck, but I don't think I can drive the 1.5 miles to my unit inside the gates and have it in the truck (which I'm not comfortable with as break ins happen from time to time) They do have large signs right at the gate/guard shack with the 30.06/30.07 penal codes displayed as well.

Ruger LCP in a Blackhawk #1 pocket holster to church yesterday. Can't carry on base for work.

My new Schrade. Still working on HH6 for the Pistol. Brought up in WA this has been a tough nut to crack but she's bending. She and Sam have at least taken the pepper spray I insisted on, but after last weekend she's asking about going to the range. Sam's co-worker was jumped getting into his car. He was able to run back into the restaurant and call police, and the attackers ran off without the car, but that was enough to get her attention. Told her that could be me or you any night of the week.
-
What Schrade is that Tate? I've been looking for a decent fixed blade for my pack....that might do the trick....
-
Springfield Armory XDs .45ACP with Remington Hollow-points specialized for compact pistols..........whacks a good double-lung on coyotes at 45yrds. Sleeps in a Cross-Breed IW holster in the parking spot 75 yrds. from the classroom. In the classroom......sharp wit and snappy comebacks to pubescent stupidity.....Buck open assist blade in right front pocket seam for everyday tasks and tendon carving should the need arise.

Has anyone looking into the civil defense ammo instead of the critical defense. http://libertyammunition.com/product/civil-defense-40-sw
I carried my xdm .40 to work in the car and back home today. I don't have anyone in our Plot that I don't call friend ever and usually a police officer is parked next to me when I leave. No major concern in my area. Work-mailbox-home

I haven't. Though I wonder. It's well known that the 5.56 works on a tumbling fragmentation principle creating multiple wound channels. But at much higher velocity than the rounds from a pistol. The hydraulic shock of a larger heavier expanding round at those slower velocities may still be preferred. True multiple wound channels might be more lethal, time to incapacitation is my main concern, which massive instant transfer of total energy would probably accomplish better. My 2 cents

Officially, we have a no firearms policy. Unofficially, it’s don’t ask don’t tell. LCP in the pocket keeps everyone happy.

Heidi and I went to Cabela’s this afternoon to give mamma a few hours to herself. Replaced the LCP with a S&W Shield 9mm in a Milt Sparks Versamax 2. Spare mag rode in a Neomag. If y’all are like me and don’t like the size of a mag holder on your belt, the Neomag is worth a look.
