New color below. Old color up top. Didn’t like the orangeish red tone.  This is much more brown.

What’s the load rating on those bfg’s? Just curious I always thought of them as a light duty tire.
These are load rating E. Max load of 3525 which is more than the Toyo’s I just took off.

These are so much quieter.

Here are the new BFG's. I don't have pics of the old Toyo's. They kept them at the Discount Tire shop.

I currently have Toyo Open Country on mine and will need to change them out in a couple of months. I'm a pavement pounder so I don't need the lugs. They started with 16.67mm of tread and now they are at a little under 6mm with only 29,000 miles. That is terrible in my book for easy driving on pavement.

I will be going back to BFG T/A KO2 305/65R18  $340.97 per tire but right now until end of December they have a mail in rebate of $60 for the set. Still expensive but if I can get 45,000 mile out of them vs 30,000 on the Toyo and much less squirm and road noise I think I will be happier. Before the Toyo's I always ran BFG's and was happy with them.

 :likebutton:

Update on the Toyo's. I pulled them off on Friday with 4mm left on tread after 39946 miles. I can't say I was too impressed with them for the cost and my use which is pretty much snow and ice pavement daily driver. I also had them siped and they were not that great on snow and ice.

I had BFG KO2's put on. 305/65R 18 at Discount Tire instead of more Toyo's so we will see how they do. One odd thing I noticed was that the BFG's have 15/32 (~12mm) tread new. The Toyo's had 21/32 (16.7mm)advertised but checking my notes on the Toyo's after 2614 miles they were at 15mm and 13mm front and back. So Toyo starts off with more meat but seemed to wear the first few mm off pretty quick. we will see how the BFG's last. Hopefully I get more than 40K on them.

We had 10 inches of snow this weekend and roads were snow and ice this morning coming into work. The BFG's gripped so much better. I could actually stop on the ice.  :likebutton:

Being the Internet Surfer that I am I thought I would share this guy (Ron Paulk) in the PNW youtube channel. He is a home builder and has tons of ideas on trailers and box trucks that he has used over the years. He also sells sketchup designs for some of his stuff. I have used them for tool cubbies and drawers and have liked them.

Looks like Hickok45 is still there for now. He is also posting his video over on full30.com.

We have to do just like the libtards when they don't like something. Call / contact all of the youtube advertisers and tell them we won't buy there products if they support youtube 2A ban.

Or just go to alternative sites and leave youtube to the cat videos.  :beercheers:

Mike thanks for that. It’ll have the Polaris cleaner and will be a salt water pool. Any advice there?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

TRN, We had a very large saline pool when we lived in NJ and it was the easiest to keep maintenance on it. We rarely had to add salt because the evaporation only takes out the H2O and not salt. You could hardly tell it was salt water but kept the crud out. We ran the pumps about three hours a day. We had a Polaris also like this.

It worked easy also. We also had many trees and it took care of all of it.

I think you are in good shape!

Watching this raised a thought in the back of my mind......how much of the existence of Asslam might be linked back to the Israelites failure to follow God's instructions to "kill every living thing and keep nothing for yourselves" back in the Old Testament as they were being lead to the Promised Land?  One spared descendant and a goat, and we probably ended up with entire lineage of the false prophet.

Goat... LOL nice touch.  :beercheers:

Time for a pic dump.  A lot has happened in the almost two weeks that have passed since my last update.  Here are some images of various states of completeness.

Laundry Room drying racks.  More will go on the wall above these cabinets.  Sink will be installed when the rest of the countertops go in.  Hopefully today.

The boy's bedroom and his nearly completed closet.

Daughter's room and closet.

Fireplace is coming together.

The powder room should be finished up as soon as the tops come in and the plumber can do his thing.

Master bath is close as well.  The tub to rule all tubs should be delivered Thursday.

The kitchen still needs a few finishing touches, but it will come together when the counters are finished as well.

Bonus room above the garage.  A space the kids can escape to.

The back porch.  A place I can escape to.

And like everything else the stairs are nearly complete, minus some touch ups and hand rails.

Obviously there is still a lot of work to do and some finishes and details will take another couple of weeks to wrap up, but this project is nearly in the bag.  We couldn't be happier or more excited.
Beautiful house. Great progress.

That’s what I was thinking. Everything I could find said they’re $1,000-1,100 (new) when in stock. I may be shunned for it but this is also the first .45 ACP I’ve owned. I don’t reckon having a second option for pistol calibers is not a bad thing.

Longball. I wouldn’t worry too much about getting shunned. I bought my first Glock and it was my first 45 and didn’t get shunned. You’re safe!

I think like most everything in life they would have to posses "WANNA". They WANT to be the person that feels trained and ready to confront an arm subject. They WANT to devote the time and money to continued training and real life situations that improves their skills so they could match up with a Dog Catcher. :)

We should just remove the obstacles and provide the resources to the WANNA's of the world so they can be the first line of defense for the most vulnerable.

Oh yeah.. as well as hardening the schools, locking the doors, having a single point of entry, buzzed in visitors, etc.. all of the other "SENSIBLE" building control ideas.

When I was a kid, if I'd acted like that my Mom would have whooped my @$$, and then I would have received another from my Dad when he got home! Liberal helicopter parenting is, IMHO, the cause. I believe it si also why we have so many shootings at schools. Parents aren't involved in raising their kids anymore.

Yep. We always got the twofer special also. They seemed to try and out do each other with the belt or whatever else was handy at the time.

I want to hear more on the sheriff's policy of not arresting kids to keep the Broward co's school stats pearly white.

If that is true, the sheriff may need to serve time and be subject to suits from the families who lost children.

Sundance with the Conservative Treehouse has extensive write up on this and much more. He lives in the area and has investigated them for years. Specifically Obama's policy to stop disciplining kids so they wouldn't end up in jail.

Click through all of the links for each article and it gets very deep.

Gun Control / Re: Trump to Sessions “ban bump fire stocks”
« on: February 27, 2018, 08:57:41 AM »
this might not go as planned, but here it goes.  I'm all for gun rights, but practically we have to do something to prevent more of these massacres.

I believe we have to start with better reporting of disqualifying events;  prove to me you are efficient with the laws we already have before you earn the right to pass more.

e.g. the church shooter in Texas,  DO discharge from AF for domestic abuse, not reported, should have DQd him immediately. , countless people falsifying their 4473 and not prosecuted when rejected.  FBI and local LE not taking the reports seriously on this wack job in FL.  There should be a high bar but a bar none the less on removing mentally ill people from their weapons.

Then I believe that federal law should promote armed protection of our schools.  Bad guys gravitate to gun free zones.

Agreed as long as the there is a way to challenge the system if you are listed by mistake or by fraudulent means.  Its VERY easy to get on lists but very hard to get removed.

As they say possession is 9 10ths  of the law so when they have confiscated your firearms the normal civilian has almost zero power to COMPEL the authorities to give them back. They can drag their feet for years and what can you do? Sue and rack up $$$$$ in attorney bills. Even if it was fast process of decision that is no guarantee of fast return.

The law would have severe penalties against the law enforcement that has your guns. If they don't return within 5 days of judgement they would have to pay you $5K for everyday after that. But then you would actual;y need judges to enforce the payment. Will all of the liberal judges they could be too busy also.

Not a lot of TRUST is the enforcement community. There are many examples of people that have had their property taken and never given back. Hmmm....

NJ is a pit. When I lived there I had a gun safe full of violations that moved in from Texas. I played poker with a ex NJ trooper Detective and he was over at the house one day and noticed the safe. I told him what was in it and he freaked out and told me to not tell anyone I had a safe at all.

Never was I so happy to see NJ in my rear view mirror.

Norm, I always like hearing your points of view. Makes me think.

Couples of my 2cts I would throw in. You refer to the smartest coming up with solutions. Not sure if you watched the CNN "Town Hall" debacle it is painfully obvious that the anti crowd wants to work on any reforms. They want nothing short of confiscation. They see no reason why anyone should have guns. That isn't just the far left fringe it is most all of the left if they had their way. Obviously they have lots of obstacles but that doesn't stop their effort.

They will be successful in a 100 years or so because they are grooming and raising millions of kids that have no interest in life, liberty, or happiness and especially true respect and dedication to the constitution and bill of rights.

That is why they jump so hard anytime a tragedy occurs and the ONLY focus is on the gun. GUN = BAD. over and over ad nauseum.

Sorry Tex but I had to laugh. All of this time I thought the house (shed) you have been building was your primary dwelling. I thought you also had a shop / garage there also as a stand alone. Then you were going to bring in containers for storage and gun/re loading room. Then I see the pictures of the actual house next to the pool and then the light bulb goes off that you have a retirement house there and the rest is all add on's.

Very nice!

When I lived in NJ I had a very large pool and heated with Natural Gas. No spa but the wife likes 80 degree plus water or she won't go in. That thing cost me about $1000 a month to heat 5 months of the year. Plus another $1000 a month in electrical for the two pumps and 26 stations of sprinklers. I was always looking for a pool heater that was the type that floated on top of the water when you were not using it. Tons of lilly pads and other floaty types but I wanted one where you could hook up the return water line from the pump to it, it then circulates the return water through a series of dark floating pads and then returns the water back into the pool after it heats up.

Similar to these but instead they would be like air mattresses with water flowing through rather than air. Scale able to whatever size of pool you had.

https://youtu.be/bUZd_fAQnQk

Thank god I'm in Minnesota now where you don't need a pool. (sarc)
