Brian Williams was a lot more places than I ever knew
On a side note, and it is indeed a small world, Don, a guy I once trained and was stationed with for several years became one of my best friends. He was a chinook pilot also. Yea... So when the second invasion of Iraq was in progress he was leading a flight of two (I think it was two) Chinooks carrying connexes and stuff forward to support the advancing attack. In chalk #2 they were also carrying a certain Brian Williams. Don, my good friend took the RPG through the fuselage, yep, that part happened. It went through the floor, out the roof, and through the rotor system and never detonated. They did have to land to access the damage and they did get trapped by a mega dust storm.
So some of Brian Williams story was true at least!
Honestly, we in the military see it all the time. Celebs want to come out and rub shoulders with us, but are seldom or ever near the bullet slinging contests unless their drivers screwed up and took a turn into wrongsville!
