Tornado just went by my house. House only took superficial damage. But it tire my shrub bushes right of the ground! I had a pile of brush stacked up against my truck which was the remains of some of my landscaping. Pics later. Still no power. Working off the cell phone

Hopefully the truck will be able to back away from the landscaping w/o getting stuck again.
Living in the remote north hoping Ken doesn’t bring H up here any time soon…..

Glad you're okay.

We had one go by about a mile north I think from the same storm, based on trees down and damage. My sisters house lost their power lines and a tree or two.

Glad you are ok. And praying for all those affected and to be affected.  It looks like another one of those long days for bad weather.

Glad you're okay Don et al.......hope your favorite neighbor has some new bushes and a few sticks to pick-up!  Some parts of the country refer to that type of storm as Spring Cleaning!

Power is back on

It tore the fascia off some of the front of my house and tossed things all over. It snapped off some shrub trees of mine and piled them up against the Chevy!

There's someone's trampoline in my front yard and a bunch of trees down around us, but, ah, I'd have to say, G-T-G!

Thanks for the concern

Chili looks awesome!  I'd take a bowl of that. I mean it's not CINCINNATI chili, but it'll do. (That was sarcasm, Cinci  chili is definitely not my favorite)

I paid taxes on the practically new Ram I am trying to sell. That was more fun than a wash tub full of possums. Then came home and changed the power steering fluid in my LB7 since I will be making a trip to pick up my tractor in a couple days. Steering improved noticeably but the brakes feel like a completely different vehicle. I wish I would've done that a long time ago.

I think I say that every time I change mine.
I might just make it a springtime ritual.

Such a different feeling, for the better.

Not much going on in my world. Cold as heck again tonight.
Went to light the stove at the cabin, was -15 or so after work, well past -30 went I went out...

While ashamed to say how long it's been since mine has been changed, I would, if I only knew. Somewhere between 91k miles and never. I can't believe I overlooked it for that long. I mentioned it to my dad and now he's set on changing his out next time I am home. The ps fluid in his 2002 has never been changed but it only has 56k miles on it.

It's so super easy to do also.
You need a piece of 3/8 ID tubing to get to a collection pail from the hydroboost return.
Fill reservoir real full or have a helped adding, and pump the brakes slowly.
Keep it full of fresh and once clean turn wheels lock to lock and continue flushing.
Takes a couple quarts and about 10 minutes.
Worth ever penny and second.
And I think I was well over 100k the first time I did mine. So you're not alone. Lol

It's Lee Greenwood at Trump's inauguration. Lord knows I have not always been the perfect father but when a 16 yo, who is surrounded by crazy leftist BS in school and the state we live in, sends me this, I realized I had at least done something right.

Oh! Thanks for posting that Stewie....I thought it was simply a "harvest table" for sorting stuff etc that allowed for easy clean up after. Pretty cool. It would require daily watering though no? You might throw some wheels on it so you can get it into shade so it doesn't bolt in the heat.

I think Don was referencing the Cinci skyline chili with the cinnamon question. they eat that crap w/ spaghetti noodles and piles of shredded cheese. it's an abomination to chili. should just be called OH spaghetti sauce.

Nice list of chilies and peppers there too; gravy's lookin' good. I'm a fan of "no-bean" TX style chili.

Listening to that just made my morning. That has to be one of the most beautiful songs ever right behind God Bless America!!

On another note, there was a real flyover at the Daytona 500 this year. The ThunderBirds did the blossom right at the end of the Anthem. Great to see real military flyovers-salutes with the new admin.

Looks like I need a fluid change. Brakes have felt a little wierd and with just 135k on the oem oil.

I love chili, so I'd try it with spaghetti noodles. And I'm in Wisconsin, so there's always cheese in my chili. I just like chili..

Clarification: I would probably eat this. I would also eat it on a dog, no question. But I would not call this chili. and cheese is cool, just not appealing to me in this way.

TRN's style is way more my speed, and yes to chocolate in the gravy.

I would try this but I am with you....I think TRN's chili is "CHILI"....I think this is just a different kind of spaghetti sauce.

I know this isn't for the TX folks where chili is beef only but anyone else put mushrooms in their chili? I put in the sliced canned ones....I like it.

Update. 2nd place today with the chili but I've requested a recount as I believe the Russians were involved.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Was the winner a nice watered down borscht with a few fingers of vodka?

No, it was an uncomplicated flavor profile with just loads of heat.  People confuse heat with taste.

Yeah, our annual church chili cookoff usually has a couple of entries that just burn out your taste buds. I don't find it enjoyable to not taste anything after an initial solar flare in my mouth. I'll usually wait until everyone else has gone through the line and see which ones get the "I'm going to regret this in the morning but gotta look tough" reaction from some of the guys. I'll normally avoid or just take a small taste of them.

I've got a good friend who has had to deal with this in salsa competition deals, however the winner ended up being an extremely bland mostly tomato salsa.

Also, I'm ashamed to say this but..... I've never made chili. I now want to especially with the fresh off the hoof cow in our freezer.

Got my snatch rope from Randys. Comes with a bag too. This thing is solid, even has a little pocket for gloves in the bag.

Also found a 1.5 die for my JD bender. Little tight at 4.5 radius but for $100 was hard to beat new.

I bet that was fun. Speaking of good news, we finally made the trip to mom and dad's to reveal a secret we've been keeping since January.
