I did Dave. Thanks. I’ve been working these guys hard and they are all within a couple hundred dollars. Probably gonna use the guys that hassled me less. There is a dealer on the way from Houston to the weekend place that would be convenient and they also happen to be the place that has an RV dealer and they were super helpful when my fifth wheel had to go back to the factory for repairs even though I didn’t buy it from them.

As I watched the sunrise today in a still free country I was chatting with a friend who has been on assignment in Kazakhstan for 3 years. It makes me humble and proud to be amongst the 1% of the world blessed enough to be born here and live in relative freedom and security. All of this because of some really hard men and women who give up the niceties of life to secure our liberties.  People who go to hell hole places on earth and kill vermin who want nothing more than to wipe us off the face of the planet.

Some of those men and women never come back and those that do live with some really bad memories of twisted cultures and sick people and the deeds they’ve done to survive and preserve our way of life.

Today may every man woman and child take a moment to remember those who gave all so we could BBQ in peace today. A seemingly mundane event but built on a foundation of blood sweat and tears.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

yes,  had to drive home to pick up the wife to drive back and pick it up.  Several people were checking it out while it was sitting there.  Wife got to drive the denali home.  she approves.

Nice truck, I also wondered about the red dually behind. Charles is color coordinating his outfit for the photo op.......

Wife is probably thinking “finally a truck I can drive!”. My wife only ever drove our dually once, in 12” of snow the day I had laser surgery in both eyes. Half way home I told her to let me drive but she refused, true story.

Funny about the shorts. Just a coincidence.  Shawn my wife loves driving the dually on the highway. Hates maneuvering and parking it.

I’ll decide whether the dually goes on the chopping block once I hook a trailer to this thing and see how it tows.

The 8 speed transmission is interesting.  Lots of gears.

Why the dually and not the bus with its recurring issues and problems?

Because I can use the Bus like a truck and not worry about nicks and I've replaced almost every single piece of mechanical on it.  Dually will be redundant as I don't really have anything to tow more than 10,000 pounds at the moment.

It also getting crowded at the house with a 2 car garage and 5 vehicles.....

I guess that is the Denalli as I don't see a Z71 on the rear, or is that on the door now?

Specs?

JR it’s the Denali, with the ultimate package which basically means it has every option. The only option you can get on top of that is the rear DVD player.

It has the 420hp 6.2L and the 8spd auto. Even comes with a spray in bed liner

This is the pearlish white color with black leather.

One of the coolest features is the steps. They pivot out horizontally and not drop down like Amp steps. Then there is a button on the rear edge of the step that when you tap it with your foot it pivots back towards the rear wheel allowing you to step on it and access the bed.

It has the magnetic ride and it is amazing compared to any truck I’ve driven as far as ride is concerned.

Guess it has the 9.5 rear, not a bad option really. Mileage reports will be nice after a little break in.

BOBBY - we will be running by Maplewood Meats when we head home Friday morning - probably around 8am - 10am, let me know if you are free and wanting to meet. (meat-up!)

I was working Friday morning, and just signed into here so I just saw this.

that is ground contact pressure treated lumber in cedar color, and the bottom of all wood that is touching ground there is landscaping water sealing glue.  that wood says its specifically designed to be used in constant wet areas.

that is the same thing that I made that planter box out of!

by building codes, the green pressure treated lumber of the past is no longer allowed (read illegal) to be used for decking or wet areas.

Been busy as heck around here for me.
HH6 on a girls vacation, sonny boy back for the summer, job here not yet in the city.
Ice finally left the lake on the weekend, dock moved on Monday evening.
Spent a few days cleaning around the house for the first time in as many years as we e had the cabin. Man we had some junk to move.
Replaced the floor on my skidoo trailer, fixed (finally connected) the brakes on the car hauler.

Need to measure for timbers to redo the crib for my dock. Supposed to be a low water year so I need to fix it up.
Oh and forest fire season is here too. First one near us today, under control now they say 30 miles away.

Charles, nice truck!
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Followed up on MRI results today and it doesn't look great. Bone Spurs, arthritis in my neck, and a disc bulging, pinching the nerve in my right arm.
..at least the boss upstairs took away a lot of the pain. Pretty tolerable as long as I don't use it.

Wow. Today was musical chairs. See if you can keep up.

Wife unit sick with cold I gave her. Out of commission and non functional.

Drove the dually to the office and parked it in my parking spot. Ubered back home.  Took daughter #1 to school in new Denali. Drove Denali to work and parked in the spot next to mine which belongs to a coworker who’s on vacation until 6/6. Then drove Denali to stereo shop for a Viper alarm installation and had them add a secondary subwoofer to the factory Bose system.  Got picked up by a team member and taken to lunch with an employee and some team members for a birthday. Then they dropped me off over at the repair shop to pick up the wife’s GL320 - new door lock latch and actuator and reman transfer case (ouch). Then drove the GL home and grabbed the wife’s minivan to take it to the body shop to get the NASCAR racing stripe repaired on the passenger side where she was sideswiped (driver bailed to the exit and ran). Ubered back to the office. Picked up the dually and took it to be inspected and drove it to meet up with some friends at happy hour. Then back to the office and ubered over to the stereo shop to get the Denali and finally back home.

Now I actually have to get some work done.....

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

I met up with my medic from my last deployment back in 2010 for lunch.  he and his family are coming over for dinner tomorrow evening, so that meant i had to trim and season a 20lb angus prime brisket along with prep a italian noodle salad for tomorrow.

Shawn, my buddy actually lives just south of you down in colorado springs.

And just cause mike was crying the other day, so i thought i would rub it in...lol
