Tooth cap
« on: January 14, 2017, 07:49:41 PM »
So the cap on my molar just came loose

Was flossing and I guess I yanked up a bit too hard

So, can I just superglue it back on

Anyone know?

Question: Which teeth do you have to floss??

Answer: Only the ones you want to keep!

I'd go with JB Weld....

And the answer to your question. Only the ones you want to keep.

Edit. Didn't scroll down far enough

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

I was serious about the SG!

I mean we use it to close up wounds, seems to fit just fine over big tears, why not a tooth or tooths?

Superglue may hold for a day or two, but will break down fairly quickly I think. Definitely do not use JB Weld. Had a Soldier of mine do that once. That stuff gets really, REALLY, hot apparently. LOL!

I'd just go to the dentist.

Well, that didn't work out

Tooth was all ganked up beneath the cap. So much for sealing and all that.

So I got to digging around in what was left and just kept running to more and more junk.

So I bit the bullet and drove over to my dentist's office.

Well she numbed me us and started pulling, but it felt white hot with pain.
So she numbed me again.
This time managed to break out some of it, but it was still hurting A LOT!
So she numbed me up again...Third time

Sometime later the left side of my face fell off

Oh and on the TV placed there for my enjoyment, the home and garden or whatever channel was featuring two homos buying a house together. Yea...

Some dental assistant assured me that my face was still intact, but I'm pretty sure it is on the floor somewhere.

I got them to switch to Fox news

Then we got in digging once more. It hurt a lot. Heard some breaking sounds and watched the tube running red. Heard her say, "This one is a bleeder" but it was still hurting the same.
So
She gave up!
Yup, have a referral for dental surgery
Face is still missing and I can't swallow
Everything tastes coppery, and I keep pouring water out of my mouth through the area where my left side of my lips used to be
Tonight...Not gonna be fun...

Unfortunately

More to come

Well that sucks chief.  :undecided:

Hope your face comes back.
That much freezing something ain't right.

Good luck.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Well I can tolerate a fair amount of pain usually but when it comes to dental pain I fold faster than kahlid sheik Mohammed being waterboarded.  I'd opt for opioids

I have a total dental/dentist phobia...a leftover from my orthodontist Dr. Mengele.  Even reading your post made me sweat. I hope it gets better soon!

Hope your numbness has subsided......missing face/tongue/lips make things interesting!  Talking/eating can result in a tongue sandwich and put a sizable divot in your check at times!  Hopefully the surgeon tells you to count backwards from 100, and when you get to 99, you wake up asking, "are you going to take that thing out already" and they say, already did!  (While the nurse is gathering up the Polaroids your better half requested to help get ground broken on her pool and deck combination down at the Hide Site/Kentucky Beach Ladies Club)

Feel better Don!  Have them put in a Gold replacement for you once the hole is cleared  :likebutton:

Will pray for successful surgery, and no tongue divots.

Our sons godmother had dental surgery years ago, and the dentist was apparently not the best and she managed to swallow part of her tooth. The following months of sickness were undiagnosed until finally an X-ray or something found that she had part of her tooth stuck in her throat, which is what had caused ALL of the problems after the dentist.

Thus the reason I will hold you up in prayer, you ain't got time to be dealing with tooth problems.

Good luck, Don. I sincerely hope you find the missing side of your face. It would suck having to go through life getting food/drink through a tube. Not to mention having to learn sign language at your age!  Praying for a successful surgery!

Well, some idea...

I have an idea as to how busy you are, we could put together a list from your threads on here that would keep any man busy for 8 hours a day for many moons!

So to be laid up with out a face, and an impending surgery.... nope no time for that garbage. It might be God saying slow down though.

When is surgery?

I have BIG filling that will fail someday, but more or less sound. Last time I got 8 shots and it still hurt, I know how you feel.

I used to take inmates to a specialist. All he did was extractions, never knocked em out. He broke em out with a little hammer!!!

Good luck and prayers,,,,,,,,,,,,,Funny thing, my mom goes in Wednesday for a 3 tooth bridge that fell out.

This thing swelled up in my jaw bone yesterday to about the size of half the sphere of a golf ball. Looked bad, was embarrassing

I'm shoving down amoxicillin and it seems to be getting better

Not whining, just sharing. Prayer is good, but I have given this to my father in heaven and he will cover me.
