Another sad "green" energy fact

Most of the parts for a wind turbine are built in Germany.
It requires 60 gallons of oil to lubricate the turbine.
When a seal breaks, that oil goes to the ground.
Blades are made of a toxic fiberglass combination & are buried in landfills
in Wyoming (think ground water).
Turbine has to spin continually for 7+ yrs just to replace the energy it
took to manufacture it.
It would have to run continually for 50 yrs (they don't last that long) to
pay for the cost to manufacture & install the turbine....which is
approximately 2 million dollars per turbine.

Wind has been a big farce since the get go.

Solar does have promise, energy storage will be the big break through.

They put in a bunch of them just north of us. We were actually approached about having one on our land. We own a piece of ground that is the highest in the county. You don't realize just how big they are until you walk up to one. They are pretty intimidating.

Actually, thinking about a small one for the ridge. Just enough to keep a little charge on the stuff.

There is a guy who bought one a few years ago up near the area I grew up in. Got paid money back from the energy company to an extent that he bought another one and hasn't paid for electricity for a few years. That could've changed but I remember my dad talking to him about it.

Well his aren't 200'. He can raise or lower them depending on weather. They are maybe 75' i believe. They a little higher than a standard barn honestly. THe HAzMat rescue instructed that I deal with has his property upnorth off the grid with wind and solar and a generator as backup.
