Looking real good. Are those D rings 5/8s?

Welds look better too.

Speaking of ammo cans, they are going for around $12 on ebay right now.
D-Rings are 1"

I was thinking of a biggin...like the 20MM or the 30MM ones. Weld up a foot for it to rest in then get captured by something. Keep things like a fuel siphon, recovery stuff, and stuff like that in there

Or to feed that mini-gun.......... ;)

Well, I finally made a choice. I found a used 226 for what I thought was a good price. It's an older model (1994), made in West Germany. Should have it in the mail in a week or so!!

Congratulations.  If you ever break it down to the last screw make sure you do it on a smooth clean surface and not on a table in the grass.  Those little parts are hard to find with they fly off the table into the grass.  Don't ask me how I know.

Which trigger set up does it have?

I have the DAK which, I believe stands for something in German that means I can't pull the trigger long enough and hard enough while still keeping it on target.

One day I would like to send it off to have the SRT put in, which is the Short Reset Trigger.

Deutsch Armory Krapola possibly?

Fresh out of the washer and heading out into my local community to ruffle some feathers!

2572
When we believe that public schools should teach everyone to the same standard, we either disenfranchise some or drag others down by teaching to the lowest common denominator.

This is one of the major issues with our current education system, it is a one size fits all method.  This system is very easy to administer by the teachers, but is not well received by all students.  There are other, much more effective methods available, but they would require more effort on the teachers part and more resources allocated by school districts.  Which is hard sell, even if it could guarantee better education.  Not to mention a complete paradigm shift in the attitude and thinking about how education occurs.  Also it would become difficult to continue using standardized testing (which is another whole topic about whether those tests really provide value)

Gotta disagree with you on this one-

As a teacher, I have to differentiate what I do for multiple levels within each class.  Requires sacrifice of time from the sharp ones who get it, to the glass lickers who can't perform simple tasks, like use a ruler; can't read, comprehend or follow written or oral directions.  Can't solve simple problems with out being led to the answer through questioning that shouldn't be necessary, but is!  Daily and multiple times each period.  Some cannot even grasp concepts when demonstrated infront of them!  THESE ARE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS!

Aside from MANY parents neglecting their roles as THEIR kids first teachers, WE are to afraid of damaging little Jimmy or Nancy's (Jaun or Juanita, Depac or Himadri) self esteem (more likely their parents) by HOLDING THEM BACK when they don't achieve at grade level from year 1 in their Education anymore!  Schools pass on kids repeatedly, so their lack of effort is negated because they're STILL with every other student their age, whether the can read, write and do arithmetic or not!  Society demands that we pass them on, but blames us for making them MORONS!

All the politically correct bullcrap HAS to stop!  I'm not talking about Special Needs kids, I'm talking about the lazy ones who hide behind the skirt of some milk toast Psychologist who eagerly diagnoses everyone they see as being Special Ed. so they can keep the Social Services money train chugging along!

EVERYONE needs to stop blaming the teachers, because it's driving the GOOD ONES out of Education, and those same IDIOTS who have been socially promoted are some of those looking to get a job teaching!  The Bureaucratic Bullcrap is driving quality teachers out of the profession, because we are being LEAD by idiots who usually only taught for a few years and got on the Administrative gravy train, where they don't have to really know how to successfully teach, but instead get to tell EVERYONE that they're doing it wrong!

The important material has been replaced with the Social Engineering agenda of the Libtrards, where we are more worried about teaching about EVERYONE ELSE' culture while negating the American Culture and History and the true struggle for Independence by our founders; the True Ideals behind the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and the reasoning behind them.  We spend more time on the "expletive"-ing Rainbow Flag than the Stars and Stripes; not to mention encourage more students to view a transgender miscreant as a "Hero" instead of embracing those who were/are willing to lay down their LIVES to give such immorality a right to exist!

The REAL HEROS are ignore in history classes across this Nation, and Left Coast Loons that teach history, come to the National Education Association Convention and have the audacity to propose that 10,000 other elected delegates, consider their motion to have the Association ENDORSE the concept of freeing a convicted Cop Killer by the name of Abu Nedal - luckily it gets voted down every time it comes up, but it gains more support all the time!

My POINT in all of this; get involved!  Superintendents only listen to parents, same with your local Boards of Education.  Teachers who are good need YOUR support and they need YOU to put the HEAT on your local School Boards to STOP the Secular Progressives who work to subvert everything that is great about America, in order to embrace incompetent, unmotivated masses of humanity so we can all feel GOOD about ourselves!  Excuse ME I'm going out back to PUKE!  Don't blame the vast majority of Teachers, support them YOU'LL be better off and so will your children!  Direct your sights towards those bureaucratic imbeciles that put up hurdles for quality education to happen!

Took 7 hours, but the coffee kicked in!

It would seem that supply is building again- Cabelas raised their per person limit to 500 rounds .22 or one box if a larger quantity.  Selection today was good, with several 300+ round options and different brands- Federal, Remington, CCI, Winchester etc.

So get out there and plink away again!

I'm not so bad now, but when I was sweatin it up in the garage I was feelin a bit peekish

No, was for comic effect to tie in with KIA - glad you're not fully down and out, fight the bug!  Nate, whip up some chicken soup for Big D and send him a sniff-o-gram!

2577
Thanks for the insight Don. You're correct - Caleb or Chung, or both together in that order.

The med kit pictured has an Israeli type bandage but no quick clot. I have quick clot in a larger kit in my trunk. Based on your feedback I think I'll transfer a few more Israeli bandages to this pack and some quick clot product.

Curious as to what folks are using to secure a pistol in the car. I don't carry every day because work does not allow it. But I do drive a lot and would like one on hand in the car. I've just been worried about theft when parked in a lot away from home.

There was a small suunto compass in there as a backup to my etrex 30 which I normally use on outdoor treks. It is just a barebones compass though as I don't have a map in my pack.

Change of clothes includes wool socks. I didn't picture it but there is a beanie as well as mountaineering gloves too. No baby wipes or tp but both great ideas.

My car bag is kitted for myself mainly, but supplies could stretch to two. My bug out box is kitted for two. Interesting concept you shared on differently loaded bags being at the ready. I think based on that, I might transfer my bug out kit into a backpacking pack.

What do you typically use for camo paint/make up?

No NAPA near here that I know about

We have ORilleys, Autozone, some other a-zone like store, and Kentucky motors. I use the first and the last and am vaguely aware of the other two.

Besides it's already on the way

And

I have another development.

Last night one of the pre-Rangers pulled a 101.5 with projectile pukin'. Second one started it about noon, now I'm feeling it...
Probably a blessing that the stuff won't be here for 48.

I started in on another truck project on SquareD but finally gave it up around 1630... I'll lay around and complain, see if I can get some sympathy.
It's a long shot, but who knows!

KIA's striking back for all that bumper you built to bugger them outta the way with-

Probably ASIAN flu......GET WELL Don! :)

Financial Prep / Re: Purchasing bullion
« on: June 07, 2015, 07:52:20 AM »
I enjoyed reading comments from so many like minded individuals, but I was wondering if Don ever had the chance to work with JM Bullion again? I have purchased silver through silver.com and have been pleased, but am always looking for positive reviews of others.

Trev- I've made substantial purchases from JM Bullion and I've always had great service, quality of product and fair pricing; lowest that I've found from a reputable outfit.  After you've established a working relationship with them (multiple purchases) they will often kick yup up to a streamlined purchase group, speeding up the purchase timeline.  Best part of JM that I like, is that you get live pricing updates (refresh often to see) and the current price that you lock your order in at, is what you pay!  Shop on-line, 24/7.  Their phone support and question line is US based, so you're not talking to Himadre who introduces herself as "Jill" saying, "how may I hellllp djou" and needing to place you on hold to answer your questions!  Free, insured and tracked shipping included & their tracking is accurate.  Depending upon quantity and weight, USPS or UPS delivers to your door, signature required.

Don and a few others have also used JM Bullion as well and expressed satisfaction as well- I'll let them relay their experiences.

I will say that based upon current pricing, Gold & Silver appear to be still "on sale" considering the similar message and obvious theme in world news, common sense and Biblical Prophesy.  Too many dissimilar voices are saying the same thing.  Current paper currency and National economies are on the precipice of ruin, to NOT hold physical metals; currency and the kind resting atop some cordite that comes in standardized calibers.

I just read the thread on that -- a very moving story and incredible outcome! Did not imagine the support group on this site. I'm down to shoot sometime and learn a few things. I keep missing the ones that launch to the right when I'm at position 5 (as a lefty). Very nice O/U btw  :D

As a lefty myself- point your forward foot towards house, swing right towards where you'd like to break it and a bit low- speed up through it and squeeze trigger- it's moving faster than you think!  Highly unlikely you'll shoot ahead of it!  Follow though is key!  As you near 90* the lead gets huge!!!

With all this Bruce Jenner sensationalism and people referring to him as heroic and so courageous maybe we should take a second and re-set in our brains what real heroism and courage look like! Roger that!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That guy, the Decathlon Gold Medalist- he's dead!  Secular Progressivism and Medical malpractice killed him............should have just caught a Javelin with his head, instead he elected a scalpel to the groin.....tough way to go.

If the media refused to waste air time on this crap, people wouldn't be so accepting of it, and young kids wouldn't jump to the conclusion that they're GAY because some sicko suggests that it's OK and perfectly normal......I've seen an increase in this CRAP over the last 10 years, because of support and acceptance at the school level.  Not intentional by adults mind you, but moronic Counselors form groups and Official school clubs etc.  Socially awkward kids, picked on for one reason or another, suddenly are supported by a group who's moral compass points to "anything goes" and they start to think "I must be this way, because they LIKE me! (Over simplification - I know, but you get the gist)

In the last 5 years, I know of 6 kids who are/have gone through the medical process of switching their gender!  Surgery track, hormone treatment etc.  BOTH directions.....W.T.H.!  KIDS making irreversible choices with parental sign-off!  What damn teenager, is mentally sound enough to make such a choice?  They haven't fully grown or matured yet!  Make a youthful decision about dropping out, studying to become a pole dancer or become an accountant and make the wrong choice, you can change careers and go back to school!  Chop up your goody bits, and your SOL undoing that mistake!

So Jenner is out of the spotlight, surrounded by famous idiots he fathered/calls family who are paid ridiculous money for public immorality and being feckless fools.  He's gotta figure out a way to become news worthy too!  Really gives illustration to the phrase, "I'd sell my left nut for a ........."

I'm NOT advocating abuse of GAYs, I'm just against saying that their life choice is ok, I will NOT accept it as such, and I will NOT acknowledge their choice as anything other than immoral.  We are all sinners- mine are NOT OK, nor are theirs!

IF the press and media actually focused on topics of worth, we'd all be better off!  Sodam and Gamora  is in scripture for a reason- as valid today, as it was when it was first recorded!
