So I've hit a dillema.
I decided I was buying a G17/19, and a G21/30.
Kind of a his and hers deal.
Being in the military, some dealers offer IOP pricing.
So I contacted one, and much to my dismay, they're not offering what I'm after.
Now I know the 10mm and .45 will run I the same frame, and the G20 10mm is one they have.
My other options are as follows.
22 .40
35 .40 gen 3 & 4
37 .45 GAP gen 3 & 4
The do have a G26, which as it sits is prohibited in Canada, but they will do a barrel swap and the required paperwork. If I supply a barrel.
The pricing is very good for us up here, 30-40% type discount, so part of me would like to go with them, but at the same time, it's not what I was after.
I'm not sure I'm even remotely interested in the .45 GAP as I don't think it's as common, and will it be handy if needed in a SHTF type scenario.
What's everyones thoughts?

And to add to this our laws don't provide for carry permits just about at all.
So CC is not a real issue for me either.

Of those listed.. the 22 gets my vote.
G.A.P... no.
-
There's those dang numbers again....19/56 28/92 41/28..oh no, I meant gen6 1734/2832 or a 793/1854........jeese just get a 10/22, it's less complicated. :)

Why is the 26 prohibited? Interesting.
22 is a good weapon.
If you want a 45, then buy the 20 and get this

and some mags.
Or skip the discount and buy a 21

Barrel length. We need to be over 4.somethng inches.
It's just plain stupid, but we're (libtard Canucks) scared of guns in general, and handguns oh my!
Was debating the barrel change route, but need to see if it will be any less than just buying a 21.
I'm likely skipping the 9mm discount, as it's not available right now without messing up a 26.

The aftermarket barrel is $150ish so it won't be cheaper, but if you ever wanted to hunt with a handgun and do your own loading, I can share some recipes for 10mm that will knock down anything on your continent. 200gn XTP at 1350fps. Bear, moose, whatever....

So what you're saying is I won't be disappointed with the 10mm then?
-
Just go with a 22. There are loads of barrels out there. Here we can have shorter barrels, just no threads.

Can Mrs.Sammconn handle a 10mm?
-
We'll see. The 10mm would be in lieu of the .45 though.
But I may just do like a few are suggesting and get the 22.
More first world problems.

I CC a G19 regularly, and a G26 for deeper concealment or on long road trips (much less pressure on my back), both on the same Crossbreed IWB holster. I love my G19 though...highly recommended. That being said, I have a friend who CC's a G17...
Edit: corrected model numbers...got my wires crossed again.

In that case get the 22. 10mm is a limited purpose weapon. Not much ammo available commercially.
If you ever want an interesting read, check out the origin of the 10mm round. FBI wanted it but the female (and some limp wristed males) agents could not handle the recoil so they began to specify lighter loads....which negated the need for the longer case....which was shortened to....you guessed it....the .40 S&W
