Title: extra storage under camper
Post by: Farmer Jon on February 23, 2016, 12:14:20 PM
Every time I get my fishing poles out of the cubby hole they are all tangled up with the chairs.  Sometimes a hook comes loose I grab a chair and a bundle of poles come with it. Irritating. This can also be used for outdoor carpet, sewer hose, and whatever fits.

I came up with this. Ive seen it done on rear bumpers but never underneath. I couldn't do it on the bumper because the spare tire was in the way.
Its 8 ft long 6 inch PVC sewer pipe. I slide a pole in from either end. I wanted the screw on caps but they cost twice as much and I'm on a tight budget. I'm not sure how long them little bungee cords will last. They were all I had at this time. By the end of summer I bet I will be replacing them with rubber tarp straps.
I used ready strap and self drilling 1/4 inch screws to secure it in 4 places to the frame. I called a plumber friend of mine and asked him about it. He said that stuff is way stronger than it looks.  I guess we will find out.

I like it. I'll be looking at that come spring.

What about swapping the bungees out for a short piece of chain (thinking lighter than dog tie out chain) & a small clip. You could have enough slack in the chain to clip it on & off but yet it wouldn't allow cap to slide off. It would be permanent & you wouldn't have to worry about bungees breaking & losing fishing gear. Other than that I like it!

Yea that would work. I even happen to have some.
