As of right now we are still a go for 05/27 but the weather in not looking real good.

If any of you have your kids at home please try to have them watch the launch, the USA is back in business of putting our own Astronauts in orbit on USA built and designed rockets.

This is what I was talking about, you can also get it without the pitman arm and stabilizer for about half the price

Dodge upgraded the steering in 2009 it’s a bolt in kit for the earlier trucks a lot less work and much beefier.  I have never needed the brace either and dodge also went with a larger output shaft on the later boxes and I think that cured the box problem.

I installed the free-spin internals, and got the hub buttoned up. Then, the rotor and brake went back on. After that, we beat out the old steering linkage as a single piece so we could take measurements. Assembled all new linkage (we the exception of the tie rod adjuster, which NAPA didn't have in stock) on the ground, then hung it as a single piece. Our measurements must have been pretty good, as it tracks straight as an arrow. The steering wheel is a little cocked, but it'll get fixed when I take it in for an alignment tomorrow. (Pic is a little dark, but if you look hard enough you'll see the shiny)

You didn’t do the Mopar upgrade for all the steering parts

In a few more years the metal 3D printing should come down to the point where almost anything can be produced at home.

But again IMO it’s how the japs have always done things it’s hard to break driveline parts if you don’t make any power.

The Tokyo was just not good at anything, gas hog, poor handling, I know people love them but I would never get one as IMO it’s trying to be like a full size truck in a small package and it didn’t do any of that good.  When I’m in Boca I have a 4wd “test track” and it almost got stuck and everything else went right thru.  I guess the lack of power and poor suspension terrible brakes just turned me off.

Seems they are focused on gadgets inside more then how it performed in real world.

Also been able to test out a bunch of cars/trucks/jeeps that normally would not be available for rent, I had all of these for well over a week and all of them min 400mi driving.

1.  Jeep Wrangler all trims except the Rubicon, all had the 2.0 8sp which did ok and Mpg was 28 no real complaints nice package
2.  F150 4x4 quad cab 5.0ltr good power 10speed 25mpg at 75mph
3.  Toyota Tacoma 4x4 ORD, buy far the worst just bad at everything.
4.  Chevy Colorado 4x4 good power, pretty good off-road.
5.  Camaro SS lt1 very good power fantastic transmission, decent suspension, marginal brakes MPG yea right.

If your truck has been in the salt it will be very fun to get apart even if it wasn’t it might still be challenging let me know if you have questions.

This was the thread I did on ball joint replace the and the free spin kit.  Things you should be aware of the kit dose not come with the u-joints  And the hub will stick out past the wheel so be aware of that if you are off road and in the rocks a lot, I doubt you will see any MPG but 100% the truck will be smoother going down the road, also you loose shift on the fly if the hubs are not locked.

Have your teeth stopped chattering yet?  I’ve dove and waded chest deep in a wet suit in some cold water and that takes it out of you right quick.

Congratulations!!

Honestly it wasn't as bad as it seems. But then again I'm stubborn. My dive buddy is a former Marine mortarman so we're both stubborn. We both did the wetsuits. We're both on a track to get our Master Diver certifications before Fall hopefully.

I will be in Brownsville, our site is 30min to the East so I have already decided I am not driving an hour each way.  South Padre Island is nice but same problem one hour to get out were we are.

And please remember I dont think they will ever come to your home to take firearms, unless a an outright threat was made to do something.

As I have said before, there are far much simpler ways to make your life VERY HARD to make you comply to surrender firearms or a written statement you no longer have the evil firearms.

So just witnessed the weirdest thing.
I’m hopin Phil will confirm the launch of 60 new satellites.

Was out dumping the ash pail and a satellite caugh my eye.
Then another shortly behind.
Then another, then like 20-30-40 more. Had time to get a look at a line of satellites all the way to the horizon, holler at mama to come out, and her to see as well.

All in a row, neatly and evenly spaced, far as the eye could see, all on about he same trajectory.
Got cold without a coat but t here was many of them.

Danged if it wasn’t one of the coolest things I’ve seen in the sky.

Yes what you are seeing was the last group of 60 we put up a couple weeks ago,  in a couple more weeks you wont see them like that anymore.  But dont worry we are putting up 60 more on Monday if the weather holds.  BTW SpaceX is now the largest operator of satellites in the world now.

Dont listen to them Ken, the 440CI engines that are in the Dodge series of truck was only 100lbs lighter than the Cummins.  I beat the snot out of many D44 5lug with a 440 and never had a problem.  Tire weight and size is much more of an issue.

It not that Boeing dose bad engineering but they are a perfect example of what happens when you farm many aspects of a program out to different groups and companies and rely on them to deliver a good product.

Reason you dont see that happen with SpaceX is we do 90% of everything ourselves.

you should start to learn CAD, its pretty easy now.  I would invest in the multi material head I think they are around $300.  I just bought a spool of SS filament but haven't got a chance to print with it yet.  I supposed to be good enough for trigger parts i will find out soon.

If you get CAD files you can convert to STL

I feel for you Don, I dont know how many of those letters I have had to write.  I dont know him or anyone else that has used him but usually what the case is a company like him grows/gets big to the point that one person that makes it good cannot cope with the volume.

My guess he has not taken the time to train anyone to help with the volume he is dealing with, again this is TOTAL speculation.  Either way its not a good way to operate a business you charge  people money for.

My brother had very good luck EFI live on the other hand.  Also Oil burners are better!

Tires, Wheels, and Suspension / Re: Federal Couragia M/T

Oh, heck, forgot to report on the new tires

At this point I have one word to describe them and that's, W-O-W!!!

They are glass smooth, zero runout and have an audible whine at speeds north of 55. They ride and handle so well, I am kicking myself in the buttox for not going with them earlier. Total for four tires, shipping, tax, mounting, new stems, and 4-8oz. bags of balance beads came in at $1142.

The BFG's were junk by comparison, I don't know if they were ever this smooth or quiet.

I aired all four to 60 lbs and zeroed out the mileage calculator. After some country road driving, some work in the town and maybe 30 miles of highway, I pulled in the driveway showing 18.1 average. Now I have never, ever gotten a number that high when I drove over 70, and I drove at 75+ on the highway. Tell me I'm crazy, but that is what the truck just recorded. Is it possible tires can improve fuel economy?

Don what are the actual weights of the tires compared to the BFGs
