Had the carpets cleaned Friday. Spent the weekend doing more cleaning. Cleaned bathroom today. I’m over it.

The stepper motors just start acting “weird”. Not reading right when they always have before, going past their min/max, etc.

The fact that it started happening right after you changed the tune is suspicious though.

Like JR says, plenty of places that rebuild those clusters all the time.

Now after saying this, yours is an 02 and might not be applicable given what I’m seeing here.

…Tried to fire it today but after giving up with “dead” batteries I headed back to the lake.
Seems odd that after a couple weeks disconnected they’re dead.

Half way across the lake…”duh”, I didn’t tighten any of the grounds on the block…
It should start when I get home tomorrow evening.

Mwahahahaha happens to the best of us.

I did the exact same thing. I couldn’t get it to run without hooking a booster/charger to it. That must have provided just enough wiggle on the negative cable to make contact and allow it to start. Got it out of the garage, took it up the road and romped on it— fell flat on its face. Got it home, then realized both battery grounds to the block were loose.

Cleaning and replacing wire loom and prepping for paint.

Don a 20 amp circuit will accommodate 2400 watts of power, so look at the fixtures you want and determine the wattage and add it up.

Watts is power
V is voltage
I is amperage

P=V*I

So...

Something odd came up

My neighbor who is building that road through his place to mine offered to trade his farm in another county even up for mine

I'd be giving up my 91.27 acres for his 121 acres...even us. He has a solid tobacco barn, fields like mine, electric power, a cistern, and he said I could have the double wide mobile home to. It is far from new and I'd likely just get rid of it.

Interesting...something to think about.
First question… what’s wrong with his other farm? ;). You’ve poured so much blood, sweat, tears, sunglasses, cameras, chainsaws, brush hogs and tractors into this place.

Makes sense for him to have two properties side by side.

So I’m a warshin’ all me engine parts.
Started in the varsol tank(bout 5 hours). That sucked the next day.

Kinda went back and forth to the ultrasonic.

Then was varsol hung over Tuesday.
Today vacation has started.
And so I’m cleaning engine parts.

Mama didn’t bat an eye, only asked how I was making out.
I think I’ve got a redneck wife…well her hubby is for sure.
Cleaned parts drying in the entry way.

And I brought this home to help.
Slowly getting everything cleaned up.
House stinks of varsol and I’m already tired of the ultrasonic’s whine.

You don’t use a gasket. GM uses a type of RTV from the factory.

I would’ve just bought the dmax store one that comes with the bigger fumoto - like the one I just installed and never got to use because I sold the truck :’(

Well, the red wrench and my impact. No beuno.
Red wrench, flywheel lock, big Johnson bar. No beuno.

Add my buddy and a 36mm on balancer bolt to counteract the force on three and voila.

Not done alone for me. Watched some YouTube and got that idea.
So you don’t have the flywheel locking tool? Might want to hop on eBay and grab one. You’ll want it for putting them back together.

I could bring home a 1” bohemoth but that seems like overkill.
My Milwaukee is 1100 ft/lbs. breaking torque.
This is the first thing it couldn’t break or loosen.
2862 M18 FUEL, for anyone that is interested.
They have a bigger one now too.

I’ll do a heat soak to break down the loctite.
If that doesn’t work I’ll have to get mean.
I have the 1400ft lb one. “1400ft lb of NUT BUSTING torque” they advertise on the website. LOL

Heat the bolts? Probably have threadlocker on them, but Ken will know best.

You have it on an engine stand that doesn’t hold it by the adapter plate, right? That plate can’t hold the weight.

I don’t know how you keep all the hardware straight.

I also don’t know how ya can do that in a timely manner. I can’t finish a project no matter how small lol dirt bike in parts, ATV in parts, enclosed partially done, flatbed conversion rusting away.

Yeah I’m not sure I’ll have to do some wire searching see what I can chase down.  It’s not a two ware plug its just a single eyelet and I think beaded wire isn’t it?

Hardware goes back in the hole it came out of, or in a labeled ziploc bag. Wiring connectors get a “toe tag”, but only if you’re OCD like me :D

Dunno on the glow plug Dave.
Doesn’t make sense that it would be a dud.
Could be a bad wire. I’m actually quite scared for the project I’m in the middle of for bad broken wires.

I think I have the motor ready to pull.

Nine aweful trans bell housing bolts out.
Six ridiculous to access torque converter bolts out.
All six bazillion ground points off.
Six motor mount bolts left.
Insert trans jack cause it looks like it’s gonna fall.
Jerk the LBZ free.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’d ditch the leveler. Just made it more difficult because of the angle of the chains.

Hope it separates from the trans easier than mine did. The dowel pins hold it really well.

A 2x4 across the torsion bars is a great trans support.

Pulling the engine?

Do it. My brakes felt much better after, but I also put new calipers, pads and had the rotors turned.
