They're the quick connects for the heater core. On the Tahoe/suburban types with rear heater, they are tees instead of just one connection. Pretty sure the dmax has them up to 2010 , but can't remember for sure.

Faster assembly at the plant Charles. All about the dollar.

And faster when you gotta pull the engine or cab.

Had a buddy and his girls over tonight for dinner, figured it’s cold out. Might as well let him park In the warm garage and use the non iced porch.

This is why I built my garage the way I did.

I can easily fit four vehicles in the garage and have access to three

We had two full size trucks and mommas suburban and my Jetta plus the loads of useless junk

When did you upgrade momma to a ‘burb? Last I recall you had a Traverse just a couple months ago yeah?

I feel ya Dave. I need shocks, brakes (including calipers), probably a lot of front end parts (steering) and would like a small lift and new wheels but not until I need tires.

On the bright side, wife’s Acadia got a new throttle body today free of charge. She needs front brakes, too.

What are those "minus" signs before the numbers? Never seen them before, and don't ever care to. Yuck
First time I saw a “minus” sign was in the dash of the rental car I had in MN.  I flipped out.  Had to stop and take a picture and send it to my wife.  I had no idea the thermometers in the cars actually had a minus sign in them....

Stay away from La-Z-Boy... Super disappointed with the build quality of our sectional couch.

I think we all subscribe to the “buy once, cry once” mentality in one way or another. Be it trucks (and the parts for them), tools, or quality building materials. Spending a bit more will often save you some hassle later.

This van has the Nissan Cummins motor, seating for 12 and 4x4, the tires on it are 35x12.50/18.   It was actually a decent looking rig really
Plus the roof tent, rear tire rack and so forth.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dave, did they have a price on that thing? Had to have been through the roof. The titan with that engine is ridiculous.
It didn’t have a price tag.  I think they were more showing off the wears of that rig.    In the end it’s still a Nissan lol

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is what popped out at me... $30K less than a Suburban??? I wonder what they are listing a new Burb at? $100K?

When Ian from BigTire Garage was on XOR he did a build of something similar. Looked pretty interesting.

https://www.powernationtv.com/build/121/nv2500-van

Close. They’re easily 75k, 80k+ if you get into chevy’s equivalent of the Denali. It’s sad, it seems the new large GM SUVs have become so much of a “status symbol” that they know they can price them as such. I should know - it’s the next ride momma wants. We will not be going new, though.

I’m still unsure how you can look up the vehicle history from a VIN with only the last 8? The last 6 are just a serial number. Digit 10 is the year, 11 is the factory city code, and 12-17 are the serial.

Was the vin plate on the engine, or the body of the truck it was pulled from? Maybe it was swapped at one point?

Edit: found a post that states the vin would also be in the ECM.

I was joking about Norm's Son's power wagon having 3 recalls - he didn't specify what they were for, only that it was an FCA product :)

Don you may be able to just loosen up the top of the rad and then pull it forward a tad to get the clearance you need. The bottom just rests in rubber grommets I believe.

And if you’re out in these parts, I’m in Vancouver WA, depending if you come i84 to hippieville (Portland) or up i82 to i90 into Seattle. Or maybe I can even plan a trip up north and we can all get together with Tate and Dawg.

My ‘02 5.3L had the same issue, rear as well. Harness was the most expensive part, but at the time I think I got it from the stealer and it was $50-$60. Don’t recall hearing about the rtv bulletin at that time.

I pulled the valley cover to get a look at the top of the oiled area of the motor and have a peek at the knock sensors. One was OK, one was heavily corroded and will get replaced

The valley cover and everything else is currently soaking in the purple detergent losing some non-necessary grease calories!

Let me guess... the rear knock sensor?

Could you guys at least get the comma's fixed while you DOT things?

I believe you're talking about the apostrophes (not commas) turning into question marks, right JR?

DOT incoming... I hit up Dawg about it a while back, but I don't think he's been around much. I looked into this a bit and it looks like the forum needs to be converted to UTF-8 instead of ISO-8859-1 (aka Latin 1). This is techy speak for how the text is interpreted by the web browser.
