Can we start a pot where we all enter a chance to guess the final dry weight of the finished unit?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There will be a fair amount of tongue weight I think. That is built way heaver than a standard camper trailer. Normal trailers wold have a this skin of fiberglass or aluminum an inch of styrofoam and some paneling.

I did some research on this several years ago when I was shopping for the LBZ. I had a real nice 06 suburban but it didn't pull the camper worth a dang. I thought I wold just find a wreaked diesel and swap it. Its a lot more involved than I expected.

From what I understand abut Duraburb swaps is that they basically take a truck and suburban side by side and swap everything. The entire drive train. The stock Burb diffs cant handle the duramax. There was a company out in Colorado that did them. Then they resell the truck as a half ton gasser.

They figured out a way to flash the Burb computer to accept the duramax bla bla technical stuff I don't understand so they could use the factory gauges.

It's dusty and dirty now because I live in a farm. Nothing stays clean very long out here especially this time of year.

Located in North Eastern Nebraska.
I would be willing to meet serious buyers half way.

It's his money to do with what he wants.
I recently found that Kubota makes a diesel generator at a more affordable price. I haven't had a chance to research them yet don't know anything about them.
Eventually I'd like to dump the Onan off my toter and replace it with a diesel generator of some sort.

Picked up a hitchhiker late last night. Changed over to corn because the beans are too wet.

I have been doing a little preliminary truck shopping for when I get the LBZ sold. Just seeing what's out there. I wanted to go with a 3+3 or on old Chevy Blazer but after looking around some they are far in few in between for what I want to spend. So I ditched the idea of a Blazer.

Needs to be crew cab 4x4. For around 5k. Found a few pretty decent early 2000s Ford trucks with the 7.3 but higher miles. And a few Duramax trucks the same era for the same price.
Not specifically looking for a diesel but they keep popping up.

That generator will do just fine. If you need more power then you can get a second one. Personally I would just go with a 3500. Then there is no question you will have plenty of juice. And because I over do everything.

That's the farm shop. 80x80 with 24 ft ceiling. The only reason we went so tall is because the John Deere dealer in town built thier set up shop that tall. Equipment just keeps getting bigger all the time.  The front walk in door is actually inside the big door.

OK, so now with the plans back in and looking at "barns/workshops" I am trying to decide what size to go with. Remember my pad is 100x100 now and I want a house on it too. Sure I can massage that a little.

I have always wanted a 40x60, but do I really need that big? Would 30x50 work? You guys who have shops, what do you think or want? I have decided on 14ft walls for a 10x12 door. I want a lift in there in the long run. Also plan on awnings down both sides plus the container

Price diff is not all that much, little under $20 for a 30x55 and little north of $20 for the 40x60. That's no floor or awning but windows and doors. Here's a snapshot of what I have designed online. Place is out of Tx.

I don't care how big of one you build it will never be big enough. Personally I would go for the 40x60. Put in a hydraulic door then you don't need an awning.
first picture is our shop with a Higher Power aircraft door. 42 wide x 23 tall.  https://www.hpdoors.com/  They are pricey but well built. Puts zero stress on the building. 1/3 of the door rolls into the building like the old solid wooden garage doors. If you park too close it will pick up the front end of a diesel pickup truck.

Second pic is our warehouse. I don't remember how wide it is but its12 ft tall. Its a Power lift. Way cheaper than Higher Power but it does pull on the building a little bit. They say it don't but that is incorrect. https://powerliftdoors.com/ I like both of them equally. The Power lift fits closer to the ceiling for maximum clearance. This one cost $18,000 installed.

I am not fond of pop up trailers. The roof gets heavy. Canvas can leak. It gets torn. Mice eat holes in it. How much taller would it be to make the roof high enough to walk around in?

If it must be a pop up maybe consider hard sides rather than canvas.

« on: October 03, 2019, 07:30:30 AM »
Couple quick questions for you guys. How many gun companies are still in the US? Who are they?

I really like my Savage .270. Its a plane Jane no nonsense rifle. I didn't want anything fancy. It only cost me if I remember right just short of $400. With a scope included.  I don't remember exactly what scope it was but it was junk. After 3 rounds through the gun the cross hairs started spinning every time I pulled the trigger. So they upgraded me to a Bushnell 3-9x 40 mm with the dusk and dawn optics for free. I have not had a chance to try it out yet.

Pad is 20x14x12 inches thick. Rebar every 2 ft. The concrete will be 47B. Same as what they use on the highway. Should be pouring today.

We are taking a hog and beef into the processor tomorrow so I thought I better clean out the freezer. Got some old pork and beef roast in the canner. The pantry is really filling up this year. Mother in law canned a ton of tomato juice and we are in the process of of putting up a bunch of apples.

Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

What do you do with your apples?  We have a couple trees in our yard.  We've done apple sauce and apple cider before.  Sometimes we do apple pie filling but I have relatively high pie standards and I've not found a way to can good pie filling.

Dehydrated a bunch for pie later and made 19 quarts of juice. Mother in law made her juice the old fashion way. I made mine with a new fanged juicer. We kept them separate to see which one is better. I can say that the juicer was 100 times faster. She took 2 days to do what I did in 2 hours. BUT we wont know which one is better until we open a jar tonight.
