Future buildings. Ran across them on Facebook. Got it for $10,000 with no back wall and free shipping. Comes with all hardware and mounting brackets you weld to the container. The top of the arch will be 15-16 ft tall.   https://www.futurebuildings.com/

They have mixed reviews. Nothing against the quality of the building the bad reviews I found were just people mad they didn't get their plans on time or were short on hardware.

I believe they are out of Canada. The sales person I spoke to was in Michigan. One thing I though was strange. When I started talking to them earlier this summer they had a bunch of orders that could not be delivered because of the flooding this spring. Now all of a sudden these are orders that could not be delivered because of the hurricane.

Faith Discussion / Re: church clothes
« on: September 07, 2019, 02:21:55 PM »
I pretty much quit going to church. Got tires of the whispers behind our backs. I was raised Catholic. We were poor. One day the priest asked why I didn't come to church much other than when I was alter boy. I said I didn't have the nice clothes that everyone else wore. He said Jesus wore rags. He don't care what you wear just come as you are.
My first wife was Lutheran and didn't want to convert to Catholic so I switched. We were a new family in a new church. Still didn't have much but has a few sets of "good clothes". Tht consisted of any jeans with no stains. Anyway I started hearing the whispers behind our back. They wore that last week.
Friendly neighbor to your face. Talk behind your back. I don't need that. We pray every day. Boys are old enough for Sunday school and really need to go but I just don't.

Had nice campout over the weekend. The place is still new with no rules. Peoples dang dogs were running all over the place. That is going to have to change. One persons dogs in particular are the worst. I had a few beers in me as well as the dog owner. I don't know if it was experience or old age in me but I decided it would be better not to confront them at that time. I will see him again when we are both sober.

Wife's Aunt in Cincinnati passed away over the weekend. Looks like we are heading out tomorrow morning.

Been plenty busy lately. My back has been messed up for 15 years or more so I went to a medical Dr instead of chiropractor this time. Just as I figured he gave me some pills. Prescription strength aleve basically.
The boys first Cub scout meeting today. Jasper is really excited about being in this year with his big brother.
Over the weekend I put in a patio at the river by our camper. I was talking it easy not to aggravate my back. Luckily one of my older boys and his friend showed up and took over. Didn't do too bad a job. Ran short of pavers but it's good for now.

I attended a Hemp farming forum this afternoon. It was very informative. My guess is it will be 10 years or so before I give it a try. There is no place to process it yet. Processing plants are currently in the works.

Hemp for CBD oil will never be grown in the Midwest. Unless it's done indoors. It's a lot of work and they say the market will be saturated in 2 to 3 years. So while there is a small fortune to be made now it's going to end pretty quick.

When and if I ever try it I would grow it for the fiber and possibly the seed. I can plant it with the drill I already have. Then just windrow it and bale it.

There is another way to cash in on the Hemp and legal Mary Jane. Worm castings. It turns out that pot and CBD grow very cell in worm castings.

Jon, don’t know about Fass, but my Air Dog was warranties without the warranty card being sent it. I had original receipts.  Worth a call or email to Fass

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I got a hold of the shop that did the work right away when it started growling. They called Fass. Found out they only warranty for one year if you don't send in the paper.
Apparently they also said if you don't buy it through an authorized dealer there is no warranty at all. So, they kinda got me in a corner here. I didn't send in the paper so no warranty AND I have to the replacement parts through their "authorized dealer" or they wont have warranty either.

Our dirt hauling job is done just in the for me to throw out my back. Wife had to tie my shoes for me this morning. Heading to the chiropractor later today. Better heal up quick next job starts Monday. Hauling millings from an asphalt plant to a local feed lot for thier drive way. Then manure hauling starts up after that. There seems to be more money in trucking than farming these days.

When you leave things parked in tight like that in a barn for presumably a long time like over winter, do you do anything to try to keep mice from building nests or eating through wires, destroying seats, etc?  I am finding them starting to live in my equipment that doesn't move often.
We use a product called fresh cab. It works pretty good. You have to throw a new bag in every couple months.
My brother in law is an exterminator. He put bait stations all around all the buildings. We don't have much trouble with rodents in the sheds anymore. More so with the equipment that has to stay outside.

When it rains it pours. We have 2 trucks in 2 different shops. My brothers truck went into derate because of problems with the DEF system.  Its in getting deleted its going to be down for a while. So he grabbed the one that our hired man uses. Mine went down yesterday. I stopped for lunch I set the brakes and went to get out but the ground was moving. I don't have any park brakes. Further investigation both brake cans on the front drive axle broke off. They are just hanging there. We are driving the roughest roads I have ever seen. I surprised more hasn't broken. These trucks get some pretty hard use. We have one more truck I could use but we dropped the commercial license and insurance on it because it didn't get used much. I cant use it "for hire" anymore. Farm use only.

We have been talking about about cleaning out the machine shed. I think I will do that today. Id say there is a close to a million bucks worth of equipment sitting outside. Because the shed is full of old wagons and a planter and stuff we don't use anymore. Time to clean it out and call the auction company.

Took advantage of the weekend off to head to the river and do some camping. It almost felt like a holiday weekend the whole park was full. They got our water line trenched in down there. Met some new people. It was a good weekend.

My sister brought to my attention that there is a Hemp farmers forum coming up. Nebraska recently legalized hemp farming. There are only a handful of farmers planting it this year. I don't know if we will ever plant hemp but it's definitely something I am interested in learning more about.

Fruits of today's labor. 3 more salvage campers. Got my brother to help today. A Ford a Dodge and A Chevy. Made out pretty good on accessories again. Scored an old Minn Kota trolling motor. Nothing fancy but it works. Bunch of floaties, real nice cast iron anchor for my little boat, propane tanks, shade tent and a real nice outdoor rug.
Plus we will have axles and air conditioners to sell when we get tearing them apart. The fridges might work but they are pretty skanky.

I bypassed the tarp safety switch. It's just solenoid that's shuts off the flow of oil when the tarp is closed. So you can't dump. That was not the problem. So I took the main valve off and tested it with compressed air. It didn't work very well. Acted sticky. Called the dealer they don't have parts. Only option was to wait until Monday and go to the factory.
With nothing else to lose we took the valve apart to see how it worked. When I put it back together it went together easier than it came apart. Tested with compressed air again and it seemed to work. I installed it back on the trailer and now it works perfectly
I literally did nothing but take it all apart and put it back together. I have no idea why it works now but didn't before. Must have had a piece of something in it making it stick.

Laid a great man to rest yesterday. My Grandpa. WWII vet. Served in France, Panama and Philippines. He told me not long ago that when the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, he was on a plane in route to Japan. If the bomb failed they were to invade Japan. The bomb worked so they were diverted to the Philippines.
He was a hard worker and had a great deal of influence on everyone around him.

I am on flat land and I personally would not want to pull that heavy of a bumper hitch trailer with a pick up truck. Especially not in Kentucky. We had a heavy pindle hitch equipment trailer. It really sucked behind a pickup. I preferred to hook it to the straight truck. But, I have a tendency to go overboard on my tow vehicles.
If it were me I would seriously look at a mid size truck like a FL 60 or a little Sterling or something. They are under the CDL requirements and you can pick them up pretty reasonably priced. You can't beat that Cummins/Allison combo.
