I guess I left that part out. An acquaintance came out with a snake and didn't have any luck. My neighbor, who's house was built around the same time as mine said his line was full of calcium. Said it was set up like concrete. I am working on the assumption that I am facing a similar situation.

I'll check that Ken. Just added post to the power steering leak thread.
That valve is the one where the pressure line attaches inboard correct? Sounds like a mess...lol.
Yessir. When you unscrew the large fitting (1" wrench) it should be spring loaded....valve comes out first, spring underneath. If there's no spring tension when you unscrew the fitting, the valve is stuck (although just unscrewing it will usually unstick it...doesn't take much movement.

Sam, sounds like the pump. You can try taking the valve out of the back and cleaning it. Congrats Blaine and son!
Just had one daughter graduate computer graphics, and another came home for the summer from med school, then off to NY to intern. Those were my last 2.

Wait, isn't the word Redneck already owned by a different group of people? I'm pretty sure it is.
"hey oscar, let's form a group to fight racist, fascist rednecks"
"ok joe, what should we call ourselves? "
"hmm, how about redneck's revolting?"
Geese these kids are not only dumb, but now they're armed without guidance.

There were a total of 10 guys, including myself, that showed but as little as 2 could pour a couple pads that size...4 would be minimum for rookies imo.... it kinda depends on the patience of the delivery guy. They like to dump it and go on to the next job. (One pad was 25x12 and one was 15x12... total of 9 yards.) The more guys the better though.

Hey Bob, it doesn't hurt to dream! I'm pretty sure I could handle being off grid, just not sure if I could handle the cold. My body hurts badly when it's cold. My wife absolutely loves the cold and wet, but not being cold and wet, if you know what I mean.

Man, Mr Sam that's awesome. Maybe someday I'll need to fall back on this thread, if the Mrs. and myself make our way to Alaska and agree on living away from the city. It might be a tough sell.

I hear you JR. Went from sleeping in a bed to hauling a fifth wheel that's larger than my first house. Shawn, sounds like a great trip my friend..... ... you have lighting covered? My go to camp light is a Coleman dual fuel lantern....it takes white gas, or regular gas...and then I carry a small propane one for backup. I prefer a gas lantern because they're cheaper to run and you don't have propane bottles to deal with (unless you're camp stove is propane, then you can tie them together and run on a large/regular tank). Bug spray is a must have.. Shovel for camp fire If allowed.. Rake ( to clear a place for the tent...all it takes is one freaking pine cone or rock) Not sure if you're going to convince the family to leave electronics at home, if not, a cigarette lighter style inverter will keep laptops and such charged. I also carry a Rockford jump box under the back seat. It's strong enough to actually jump start a vehicle, and comes with every adapter you can think of, to charge phones, etc.(I know, so much for roughing it) Rope is a must have (I always keep 200' of mule tape in the truck) Oh, if you're hiking, in addition to a good map like was mentioned, it wouldn't hurt to use a GPS hunting/hiking style phone app, (unless you already have a GPS)and be sure the areas that you'll be in are downloaded before you even leave town. Anywho, just some things that make camping a little more enjoyable.

Excellent tip on the tips Shawn. The only time it really matters is when you're trying to do something precise, like splicing body panels with .023, if you use a bigger tip the wire will tend to work back and forth, like magnetism pushing it away from where you want to weld . At least that's what I've seen. Another thing, keep the wire dry. If it surface rusts, it will slip on the rollers and play hell on the liner.

Sorry, I assumed they were new.?.. I know that if you put new shoes and magnets on old drums, they have to wear in, mostly on the magnet side, and if you clean the drums with solvent, it will take longer to break in. If everything is old and was not touched, you have an issue somewhere. ...and it's been my experience on trailers, that if they are too loose, they will actually grab harder (it allows the magnet to travel farther, gaining more leverage)

Wouldn't worry just yet. Usually the brakes take a while to brake in. Pun intended.

Sounds like you went from trying to find a used one to The Typical Charles and Ken Co. of Buying the Best and Most Expensive!! lol (I was thinking used, so didn't consider the '17 1000 crew)
Ill just leave this here: Tex: Not looking for a racer. I'm looking for utility. 4 seater with a bed that can be used around the range and hunting and adventure trail riding.
Ranger 900 would be perfecto..no wait....you need a 570.
I will be so pissed if you get the 1000!!

I've been told by a few guys that you have to register the tools/batts to receive the warranty. Not sure if you need to keep receipts or not (if you do, photo copy them..HD receipts fade quickly!) Been using ridgid since they first came out, but never registered anything. Most of the original batts are toast, so I've been upgrading to lithiums as needed. Tools are great btw. Also the jigsaw is very well built.

Yes you need 60+ hp Tex! Throw your wife, girls, and a heavy cooler in the back (2014+crews=900ci w/large bed...RZR 4 seater=1000ci and almost no bed fyi) and anything less than 60hp is a slug, unless your just hill climbing. As far as belt drive goes, if you drive like me, you don't even need to consider belt issues. (I still carry one on the trail just in case ). Oh, P/S is a must...you won't regret it, especially on trails. Highway/graded roads not so much.
side note: I sure wished they had the General when I was shopping a few years ago. IMO it would be the perfect family cruiser for those that also like to haul butt now and then. (it's a cross between a RZR and a Ranger for those that don't know)

There's a reason Polaris is #1 in the utv world, just sayin'. Do they have issues? well, depends on how they're used. The gators, mules, etc. definately have their place, and may be more durable in some cases, but for a smooth ride with on highway capabilities, a ranger is the way to go IMO. In my little circle, we have 7 rangers, one RZR, and 2 can ams (probably better than the rangers, but also more pricey).
If you go looking at a ranger crew, try to go for a 14 or newer if you want to be able to accelerate without having to add a turbo. lol

There's a valve back by the distributor for a fuel pressure gauge... The cap can do that all of a sudden. Did you look at the design of the old one? There's several places that the terminals cross over each other and they're only seperated by a bit of plastic (1/8" or so). The original cap was made out of a bake light type material.... Aftermarket ones are just plastic. The spark will jump right through the plastic sometimes, and cross fire cylinders, and also backfire.

That truck has the "spider" injection, and it will not run well on less than spec fuel pressure... About 56 psi... it won't run at all with less than about 48 psi. Also, after market caps tend to let spare jump through the plastic, between cylinders, and you won't be able to tell by inspecting it. I would check fuel pressure, then replace cap, then possible crank position sensor and it's wiring (tends to lose insulation by oil pan)... This is all assuming you tightened plugs and snapped wires all the way on.
