So short update, Baylee is mia on this thread. Chasing boys I suppose or they are chasing her and she’s getting dinner and movies quite often. So often she doesn’t have time for things like putting the soft top on at night. So had a hard rain storm last night and tj interior was flooded again. Baylee calls dad at shop this am wanting to bedliner interior. She pulled nasty carpet completely out this morning after pulling drains. I informed her a bedliner deal will cause her to be down several days and quite a bit of work. Told her to look into rubber form fitting liners and she found a company making a water proof removeable bedliner type insert for these jeeps now. Maybe she will bless us with a link to what she bought?

Worked on the jeep in dads shop today... we installed the under the seat lock box...  We replaced the roll bar speakers and found that the previous owners used a ghetto method...  then we installed the speakers up front and took apart the dash to install the new kenwood deck..  will upload pic of the deck soon

Drove without my dad for a little bit today and was heading out around 6 with my friend in the car and we ran into this problem which didn’t start so well but eventually I got it after a few tries and a few angry people behind me lol. You/your dad have plans for this one?
I know it's too bad that it was totaled considering all the work and new parts sitting in the shop waiting to go on it :(... Future plans are to install a security lock box underneath front drivers seat, security box in tailgate as well, military grade terminals just like the ones we put into the xj, flat fenders, 33 in tires off jk once dad puts the 38 in tires on his jeep, shocks, and new rims. Probably going to need some oh shoot handles as well...

so I procrastinated putting my license plate bumper mount on when he was around and he isn’t here at the moment so I had to do it all by myself and I did it just fine and I knew what tools to use as well so thank you dad.

Cause, I get my shirt tails, my sleeves and anything else left dangling caught.
I use those bolts a lot for hard to grease areas
It does sometimes but I try and keep it pulled back and out of the way lol.

Last but not least Dave and I took on the speedometer. He has had to tear apart his dash several times before on his XJ so he was kind enough to show me how to take the entire dash apart and clean two components. We first removed the plastic surrounding the stereo and A/C that just snaps in.   Secondly, we removed the plastic pannel that covers this metal pannel in order to get to the speedometer. The metal pannel is held in by three small screws underneath.  Then the metal pannel was removed.  After removing 16 screws total we were finally able to get to the speedometer. Which we then took out and blew out the dust with an air hose. The final step was to spray the backside of the speedometer/connectors with contact cleaner/ enhancer.   Putting the pieces back together wasn't all too complicated, but after finishing the steering today and rotating the tires it took about 10-15 minutes of driving until the speedometer to start working again.

I am extremely pleased to see the proper use of socks to protect ones feet, open toed shoes can be bad but using socks closes them right up, I chose to weld and grind with out socks as to burn off the hobbit feet hair

square nuts fit into the winch mount but we couldn't find any locking square nuts so we made our own.  here is the finished product including the battery cable quick disconnects and el jeffe winch cover courtesy of amazon.

here we added d-ring mounts and a lower 1/4 x 2 facet.  dads old winch from the early bronco that we drug out of the shed and mocked up, it fits!  me with some elbow grease cleaning up this dirty winch  finished up each side with 1/8 flat steel to create wings and then painted it with a textured grey and black paint.

This is the jeep as first purchased with the OEM bumper minus the end caps.  strip down minus the OEM bumper  then we started with a couple pieces of 1/4 x 6 flat stock to create the frame mounting plates.  Then my dad cut and bent 1/4 x 8 flat stock and added holes for the winch mount. It was then tack welded to the frame mounts. One goal was to keep the winch low and tight out of the grill so the winch wouldn't restrict air flow to the radiator.

Currently the XJ has 31 inch BFG All terrains on 15 inch wheels, 4.5 inch lift the best we can tell, it also has SYE, and detachable sway bar links.
Goals for the XJ is to replace the front and rear bumpers, add light bar, mount the rack properly (hose clamps don't count), proper sized battery, remove the getto sub and amplifier wiring, add an anti-theft kill switch, and new gas struts to replace the broomstick handle currently residing in the trunk.

Recently I purchased a 2000 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) with the help of my dad. So he is pushing for me to start a build thread so... here we go.
