This bike belonged to a Marine KIA who used to ride with his dad. His dad had it customized and now it travels with the Texas wall of soldiers from Texas KIA Nate pointed out the Soldier's Cross was missing the helmet cover. I still cry every time I see this. Last night and today, I attended the 9th annual Scott McIntosh Memorial Patriot Dinner and Golf Tournament to honor Corporal Scott McIntosh KIA 10th of March 2008 by a suicide bomber in Bagdad. http://thefallen.militarytimes.com/army-cpl-scott-a-mcintosh/3432590 Proceeds benefit Folds of Honor, which provides scholarships to widows and orphans of fallen heros. We raised $578,000, of which more than 90% will go directly to scholarships. https://www.foldsofhonor.org/about-us/our-team/There are always great patriots and warriors in attendance and this year was no exception. Major Dan Rooney (call sign Noonan), founder of Folds of Honor, Major Ed Pulido,VP of Folds of honor, and several other patriots. Guest speaker this year was Staff Sgt Clinton Romesha, CMH, along with a WWII veteran Gideon Jones, who was shot down over Italy and held in Stalag VII. https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2016/december/pilot/pilots-gideon-jonesI was humbled to be amongst such great men, great patriots, great warriors. Some photos to follow.

Yeah, my books are at the other house, but there are minimums for codes but your local may differ. generally 36 treads (some lost to ballisters and handrails) and 7.75 inches (that's seven and three quarters for you in Rio Linda) and 10 inches for the tread depth. No more than 3/8 inch variation in rise over the entire staircase steps. Minimum headroom is 6'8".

By the way, if you all have not read any of the Ed Klein books, I highly recommend them. He has an uncanny ability to get sources that were in the room with the Clinton's and Obama's during some of the salacious moments.

There is a train of thought that if Donna Brazile survives without an untimely "accident" that the Clinton's are politically done for and others will feel emboldened to finally come out and spill the beans on all the bad deeds.

Well back to working on my own. Trying to get it wrapped. Here’s where I left it today. Just have the dormer on the other side and the two little areas under the highest part of the peak. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So today I let my team go at 10:30 to head downtown to the Astros parade.
I also ordered all my R Panel and trim for the casita roof. Hope I can get the framing crew back out this weekend to work on the soffit. I'll work on the housewrap and soffit this weekend if they don't show.

So I’m back in low carb mode which means my smoker should get a workout. Today I had another omelette. Ham, aged white cheddar, red bell pepper, fresh sliced jalapeño, onion and spinach. Some herbs de Provence and three eggs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Shawn is in the knee wall or the minimum height of the interior wall? Code says minimum interior wall height is 5ft and 50% of the room wall height has to be 7ft or greater. (IIRC). My "knee wall" is 32 inches but I will have walls for the room that make the room narrower but brings the height of the walls to the code 5ft minimum
The other thing to consider is this. Not sure if you are adding a knee wall above the first story platform, but if you have a separate knee wall you will need to make sure you have rafter collar ties, or a structural ridge beam (meaning it's load bearing and self supporting) so that the outward pressure on the knee wall doesnt bow it out.
That's one of the main reasons I ballooned framed so the floor joists actually act as a collar tie of sorts to keep the outside walls from pushing out.

I know this may sound crazy but you could go old school pencil and paper with a scale ruler.....
^ this is what I did. And then when it came time to build I did window size and placement on the fly as I eyeballed the scale of the building and built the walls. I had to add a dormer above the stairs to get the stairway headroom to code. Which is typically 6’8”. At 9/12 that means roughly 9 feet away from the eave for the stair opening Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

take the camper shell off the dMax and drive slow as you go across a rail road crossing or busy corner in certain parts of town and there are usually 5 fighting to get in the back of your truck, yelling "trabajo"
Well maybe not in CA since illegals are not illegal.....

I leaned a few thing by watching these guys. They built the lookouts and barge rafters as they laid the plywood. That way they knew the plywood would lay right on the nailing surface as they went. Also the started at the bottom and laid the first course of plywood then rolled the underlayment and nailed on the furring 2x4 for the metal panel. That then gave them a foot hold to stand on and repeat the process for the next row of plywood until they reached the peak. Now that the decking, underlayment and furring strips are down, getting up there and securing a panel as you work your way across would be pretty easy. Not as easy as watching someone else, but pretty easy.

Since you have an academy sports in your area, they sell B&B brand pellets which are supposed to be approved as one of the top brands. Walmart may have them as well. If they do, they should be about $11 for a 20lbs bag.
I mostly use hickory for just about everything, every once in a while i will use some apple when i do pork ribs.
I've used BBQ Delight quite a bit. But I just got 120lbs at BBQ Pellets On Line.com I, too use hickory more than most, but have used pecan, mesquite and cherry (for my turkey) He told me about jumping out a barack window to get into a tussle once but this sounds like a different story....
Yep. Illeshiem, Germany. 1/13 armor vs 1/6th Infantry I started that one. Must have been a hundred or more guys going at it...Fun times!
Sounds like one of my baseball team brawls....started by the littlest guy on the team of course.
