Can't remember my password but Dave the fat melts and it reduces the friction of the meat pieces so it slides downhill like a baking cookie.

Exodus 23:9 also comes to mind. I understand his sentiments but they are poorly conceived and misdirected. Some of the best people I know are foreigners who came here for a better life, embraced the language and culture and love America more than the hippy snot nosed brats that infest our colleges and coffee shops.
Defining people I don't want to deal with can be tough. However like a certain SCOTUS judge said once of pornography...I'll know it when I see it.
This man's misdirected hatred is what we end up with in Charlotte. Some nazi skinhead sympathizer running over people and taking focus off the real issue.
The real issue is that white people have been maligned for decades now as a guilt offering of the radical left. We're fed up with being told we are only successful because of white privilege and that we have to have our rights sacrificed to atone for the sins of our forefathers. Let's remember that while people founded this country. We abolished slavery, we welcomed foreigners and we espoused equality of all men and women and homosexuals and free speech and all religions. This is the greatest country on the planet and I invite the sniveling runt liberals to try to go to a foreign country and run off at the mouth about the same "rights". They'll find themselves in jail or murdered.

Report from behind enemy lines. I've noticed a lot of tats and skinny people and lots of urban dog walkers.
Went to buy groceries. About 20% more expensive than Texas for same items at same chain. The plastic bags out here are REALLY nice. Got me to wondering since I wouldn't think of CA using a lot of plastic bags. Then I noticed they charged me 10 cents for every plastic bag. I guess it's ok to kill the environment if you have enough money. Kinda like DiCaprio and Gore.
Off to find a stack of styrofoam cups. Gonna take some serious recon.
And I guess that's why there are so many skinny people. Too expensive for them to eat.
No explanation for the tats yet....

Oh, and if you are mixing by hand, consider that cheap 3cu/ft mixer from HF. With coupon you can pick it up under $200. it only really mixes 2 80lb bags at a time, but it works well and will cut your labor significantly.

Rough crowd Don. Curious as to the weight of the water and other mechanicals that you intend to store there.
Also the rock advice is sound. Gotta have fines to lock in place.

As a rough estimate, water and piping = 15,000 generator and other electricals, say, 1,000 lbs Lets throw a water heater in there + 500 Weight of two floors...Did I mention I was considering adding a full second floor which when cut into the roof would make for a 10 X 14 bathroom. So structure, what, a ton? So the eight piers would be carrying what, 18.5, so lets just say 20,000 or 10 tons 10 X 14 = 140 sq/ft. 20,000/140 = 142.85 lb/ft2 So here's the trick part Normal home floors are constructed for loads of about 40 psf...
I'm looking at 142ish lb/ft2 I am going to use 2 X 10 syp joists The 2 X 10 can span quite a distance while maintaining live loads of 40 lb/ft2 with a 24 oc spacing. Reducing that spacing to 16" gains a lot and I will place mine on 12" centers. I also plan to span around 9' 6" because I plan to double up the plates the joists will attach to.
It's not completely clear but spanning 10 feet with a 2 X 10 exceeds the 100 lb/ft2 restaurant floor requirement, so with some fuzzy estimating I think I will be there.
Next question is how much weight can a 13" concrete post carry? Well in clay, 1300 lbs per pier, and gravel, 3600 lbs per pier. But what about piers resting on rock? As in a large rock in the ground that God put there? Man, like I couldn't figure that, but I know the concrete is 5000 lb rated mix, so the pier itself is pretty strong. Some of the piers are deep and rest in clay/rock, and others are resting on the limestone below the surface.
The 40 psf and 100 psf residential and commercial floor structure are easily achieved with the lumber I am using and I am doubling that up, but of the piers??? I just don't know. I think to be sure I'll pour a few more and place them strategically to carry more weight
You knew what I was asking about. Couple of things to consider. Your load is not evenly distributed. Those per sq/ft span tables are for evenly distributed loads so make sure you take that into consideration. The only way to know about soils is to test them. If you assume the best, the soil probably can bear 3000 per sq ft. Now remember your kin tucky math. Dem pie are square. Your round 12 inch tube forms are only about 3/4 a sq/ft in surface area. So each would bear about 2300 lbs each. I'd do 9 piers which would fix your span loads for the point load of the tanks and give you a little room on the soil bearing estimates. For a total of about 21,000 lb capacity in 3000lb sq/ft soil. Here's a site I like to refer to sometimes. https://www.concretenetwork.com/concrete/footing_fundamentals/why_soils_matter.htmSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Kyle I'm surprised at DT in your area. Mine has always been awesome. I even had michelin pilot sports on a benz that were $1600+ per set and in 2000 miles my alignment guy could not get the car to stop pulling left. He thought it might have been a bad belt in the front tires and DT warrantied the 2 fronts at no costs. It didn't fix it but they still took care of it.
I have a dozen stories like that, which is why I keep going back.

Nitto and toyo are made by the same company iirc. I like the G2s I have on the LB7. A bit softer than the exo grappler I have on the Dually. I'd look at the exo if you spend anytime off-road. Terra if you are just pounding pavement.

Interesting mental exercise....
both trucks almost always have 60-90 gallons of fuel on board....check Full med kit in the truck....check Family has go bags, with clothes, bottle of water, datrex bars and an MRE, toothbrush My go bag also has my handheld HAM radio, 50 watt amp and roll up jpole for better coms My chest rig hangs in the closet with 10 full mags of M855. Grab a few ARs. Pistol is nearby and I have extra mags in my chest rig along with a few chemsticks and knife and flashlight
At that point I probably have 3 minutes left. Exit early and head to the secondary location where food stores can carry me 6-9 months. Ammo and weapons for the rest of my life. Hope I can get through until garden produces and barter economy is established.
After that, all plans are worthless anyway so who knows.

Don, also remember that the heavier the trailer the less payload you have. You can make a very heavily reinforced trailer but if its overkill then it takes away from your payload.
Food for thought

Congrats Dave!
Today, I had family over for bible study and then did some non physical activity to let my body rest. I finished building my 1U Rack Server and got it fired up and Windows 10 installed. Plan on using it for a file server and a video server for the new security cameras at the Hide/Retirement place.
Supermicro Server MOBO 8GB of DDR3 DVD ROM 4TB WD Purple drive (for video) 1.5TB WD Black (for OS and files) Intel Dual Core 3.2GHz (not fast, but fast enough and not too much of a power hog) Thermal Take low profile CPU fan Athena 400W powersupply Windows 10 pro
Finished that and cleaned up all the parts strewn across the dining room table before moving on to installing a McGard tailgate lock (the fancy version of a hose clamp on the hinge.

Don, I believe control is a fleeting illusion.......
Also, you may already know this, but if you are having material delivered its cheaper to bring in bigger trucks. The belly dumps carry 26 tons a trip and can at least lay a long strip of material along the road as they dump

I have girls so advice on hitting probably not very good. We've always taught them that hitting is not acceptable but if someone hits you then you lay them out. A heavy bag or dummy is good practice but you reserve hitting people for self defense.
As for eating, my wife required the girls to try everything we put in front of them. If they didn't like it that was fine but they had to try it. She never fed them junk (they were 5 years old before they ever had a donut...and someone at school gave it to them without our permission) fortunately mine were never really picky eaters. My wife has given them fresh fruit with every meal since they were born and she feeds them healthy food. Even now as teen and tween they don't eat much junk food.
Bottom line is as long as they eat something healthy, they can be picky.

after stretching the last of the barbed wire and driving 2 more T posts, I have decided that I am going to rent a powered post driver. The soil is as hard as concrete and that manual driver is taking about 300 blows or more to get the post in the ground..
I contacted the rock yard and they are going to come give me an estimate on laying the rock on the 700ft of driveway.
Done for now with the fence until I get back from San Diego. I'm looking forward to relaxing in 78 degree weather and 68 degree water..... We rented a house in Carlsbad/Oceanside area overlooking the beach and plan on relaxing and checking out the San Diego Zoo and a few other attractions

no panic attack yet. I am, however having a hard time lifting my arms above my head. Driving t posts with a manual post driver in soil that is about as hard as concrete is no bueno.....
I am however, just barely able to lift my budweiser to my lips....so all is good

Trump is a product of the frustrations of the flyover states. 36 states are now completely controlled by republican govenors and statehouses.
The issue confronting us is not the media or liberals...it is the RINO conservatives fighting the will of the people in the house and senate. McConnel and Ryan must go. We need to clean house in 2018 and run real conservatives against these people. They act like they don't have the majority. The dems would be ramming left leaning socialist agendas down our throat. We should be getting much more done but these RINOs are our real enemies, not the dems.
I respect McCain for his service but he is the prototypical RINO and needs to go. When it suited his purpose he said build the wall, when he was not running for re election he said no way he was for building the wall.
Primary challengers for the RINOs is where we have to spend our dollars to support candidates. It's time for a house cleaning....

propane is interesting for a vehicle that sits a lot....
Guys I know nothing about jeeps or all the combos of differentials in them. I also really like the FJ40 size, the 60 not so much but I can't say that I've been up close to one. I'm looking for rugged and simple but drivable too. Which is why I'm leaning towards ruling out things like an LMTV and Unimog Doka
I've driven a few CJs and like them, although the scrambler is really cool but again, stupid expensive like the FJ40
I may have to take another look at the M37s but unlike the CJ, i can't exactly put a jump seat in the back to haul 4
What am I missing?

stuck on stupid, yes. Diesel no. I thought I was but trying to be more practical. straight 6s are hard to beat for simple gas powerplants.

Never thought about an fj60. fj40 maybe but never an fj60. Seems big for what I had in mind. nice 40s are stupid expensive (but very cool)
I really like the clean steel dash of the early 70s jeeps (no pad)
I've vacillated between military vehicles or something more practical. I just think I'd get more use out of a small 4wd than a LMTV

Wow. I love you guys(in a non gay kind of way).
I don't plan on rock crawling. The more I think of it after reading a bit the 4bt may be a novelty. I hear the vibration and weight and need to hear correctly can make them impractical.
Truth be told I want a simple EMP proof, no electronics, no emission requirement (older than 24 years in texas - which means 1983 newest) go places larger vehicles can't go vehicle. Currently living in metropolis means I may have trouble getting out(ok I will have trouble getting out ) and I'd like something stupid simple and reliable and tough (ish). I like the flat steel dash of the early 70s jeeps from an aesthetics perspective and more and more the inline 258 seems a good fit.
