Bear, congrats on the new addition!
Charles you've been busy looks like a good time.

Been busy dealing with hard cider. Racked it last night, pretty tasty.
Packing for my trip to Ottawa, two weeks of good shooting, good times, and good friends.

Built a 556 and it's amazing how much easier it is to do when you get an upper that's actually in spec.
Had to drill out a "fire" position (made it large on purpose), and filled with red paint:

...final version with gunfighter keymod forward grips:

Well time and miles are against me apparently.
Noticed a funny belt squeal driving in the city with windows down.
So, since I've got 222k miles on original everything under the hood, I picked up parts.
I have changed idler and tensioner once, but have them again, belt and alternator.

I hope to make it home where the power steering pump is, and only tear into this once.
But being a random, non discernible intermittent squeal, I'll take my chance and let fate get me home or have the culprit self identify. Lol.

I can fix what I know is broke, and have tools a plenty with me, so no biggie if it packs in on the road.

Good luck Sam.
You should be able to go quite a ways even if the belt breaks.

Well turns out it was front ujoint. I knew the noise was at the front, then after leaving the parts store it made the squeak for the first time in two days decelerating... Found a good spot and checked, yup toast. So in any case I'm ready for the alternator to crap out now.  8)

I gotta say though, it was like the alternator bearings were getting sluggish enough to squeal the belt for a few seconds then clear up. When I caught it slowing down I new right then it was a ujoint. Oh well, 222k on factory stuff I'm on borrowed time as I see it.

18 miles on my bicycle this morning first thing, hung couple more 4' led light fixtures (for on sale at Costco $23 ea these things are great) in garage along with some more wall mounted shelving which in turn allowed me to clear the work bench. Installed battery maintainer leads on the wr450f. Then modded my carry pistol g22 with extended slide release & 3.5# connector. Gave it & wifes g43 a good cleaning then as well. Now I'm rewatching the breaking bad series..... ;D

Jeep motor is taking forever...... 3 weeks behind currently.  ::)

I am running that ammo, works fine in my custom psl & ar-10's. Read the reviews & for the price it's hard to beat.

I have an older solid 700 in 30.06, been contemplating getting rid of it although it's a lefty so harder to move & I have a decent stock of food for it. Kinda on the fence, it would be nice if it was a 308 that way I would be more consolidated. On the other hand every hardware store in America stocks 30.06 along with most older white males..... ;)

Ran around with dad and checked out some rummage sales. Bought an E-Tool, but the cool one with the wood handle and the head only pivots 90*, a mess kit and a 10" cast iron skillet. Went back to parents place, played with Bear, ate dinner and watched the Badger/LSU game.

Long day. Up at 5. Pork butt on the smoker. Ribs later. Went to lowes, SAMs and a small engine repair. Yesterday the mower deck spindle disintegrated and I needed to change the blades. Went to Home Depot for a 220 50 amp outlet. Came home with dishwasher pods, dish soap, hand soap refill, scotch brite pads, 15 amp breaker, 6 pk of LED can retro fits, homer bucket. Went to SAMs looking for water filter. Not there. Wound up with BBQ sauce and some camo shorts. Drove another 20 miles to get the mower deck spindle. Replaced the mower deck spindle and finished mowing. Cut up some downed elm trees and piled them around some stumps to burn them to the ground. Gotta weed eat tomorrow and start some wiring in the shop.  About a mile away neighbors having a family reunion and playing some REALLY loud music. Drove over on the tractor and gave them a rack of ribs to make nice. Family reunion. Music lower now.  All good

World ended bright & early this morning as my girls were all grounded from electronics for eating breakfast in the living room.  ::)

Then moved on to plumbing up bulk propane tank to shed & gen set (so it is officially hooked up) so that supplier will come fill tank. Filled oil into new gen set & added el cheapo hour meter to it. Got it fired up & it's now gtg. May add a slightly longer hose to the genset so I have a little more flexibility moving it around inside shed. Want to add full synthetic oil to it but don't feel waiting until full 30 hour break in to do so. Thinking maybe run it half dozen times for an hour this coming week then swap to the better oil going forward. Need to research home transfer switch too, I always went the not so legal route in the past in a temporary situation.

Hung another outside led motion security light over new rear deck & wired it into shop wiring. Still need to add an exterior water tight switch so we can disable it outside if we're on rear deck & don't want it lit up.

Then to garage & did some more misc organizational stuff which included hanging & wiring my electric heater for the garage. Now I'm relaxing out on the porch with a cold beverage.

Helped the parents with some landscaping in their yard which meant running back and forth to the composted dirt pile by the village recycling point, grilled out then came back to my apartment.

Did bible study about Paul and his justification before God and the lack of spiritual growth from the new churches. Downed a few small trees and pressure washed the porches and outside of the house. Treated for termites, sprayed demon WP for the scorpions and such. Used the weed burner on the front gravel path. Pressure washed the outside furniture and table and my old set of Toyo 37s as I'm ready to sell. Fed the fish in the pond. Burned a huge pile of limbs that made a monster bonfire.

Church,
Got to server which is always good
Lunch with a buddy's family, he was a special boat guy on a SEAL team
Then to Son's football game...We won, he got three sacs!
Then rode the bike, she took the GJ over to a church picnic and apple pie bake-off
Then fireworks...I got to set them off
Almost got blowed up!
Went to sleep, was a good day

The wife had small hands.  My G23 never felt good and was too big.  It was between the shield and a G43.  She said they both felt good.  Just so happened I noticed the shield on sale today so we picked it up.  The wife wanted to be the one to do the paper work so it would be her official first gun.  Unfortunately the little girl got hungry at that point so I took care of it.

Modded the harbor freight blast cabinet. Out with the wimpy 2 candle power flourescent and in with 2 60 watt halogen.

Used metal single gang boxes and metal outdoor flood light receptacles. Drilled through each corner and inserted the receptacle and righted the retaining nut. Used old 12/2 extension cord and wired a switched duplex and the light on the right and the switch in the left with the grounded plug coming out of the left.

Also rummaged through the plumbing and electrical isle for about an hour coming up with the right combination to get from about a 3 3/8 opening in the back to a 1 1/4 hose barb and made a water filter bucket with a small shop vac.

The whole set up works much mo betta!  Also replaced the foam seal on the door with a thicker variety.

My first project was to blast an old Lodge cast iron skillet.

Also added a beer fridge to the shop. Seems to go well underneath the powder coating oven.

Next up will be bending conduit to run 220 and 110 over to that corner of the shop.

Oldest boy busted his thumb last week and in a splint. Back to ortho today to see what ups but he is swelled up good this morning.

About 20 things to do this AM but changed out the #6 glow plug last night, added a SS fuel bleed and pulled the blocker plate. That thing does it job, but kali doesn' like em.

Raising boys into RealMen!!

There is a baffled port in the back of the cabinet. That leads to the sealed bucket with a extension tube that exits just above the water level, which is only about 2 inches deep. The suction of the vacuum attaches to the top of the bucket with no extension.

The fine particles exit close to the water and get trapped  on the surface.

Just a few minutes of running it and the water was nearly black.

Yesterday we buried a good friends mother. It was a nice service. She was a good woman. So a couple days before the funeral he calls me and said he needs me to be a pol barrer. No problem. I'm honored. Oh by the way he's says we are having a party at your house after. Well ok. He said I need to get up there with you guys and get away from the fakes that keep calling and visiting. We have a very small circle of friends so 5 of us and our wives sat around reminising and having a few drinks. Everyone stayed at our place over night. Wife made eggs and bacon. It was fun reminded me of old times when we we're bachlors and did this every weekend.

39 could be our annual low temp here in Houston
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Bought a new truck! Found this rig for cheap! Going to be my daughters first truck. The consensus amongst the "experts" who were selling it was the trans had crap the bed, but knowing these trucks like I do and the way it drove, I wasn't believing it. (Just shifting erratic and hard... tire chirping hard) CEL on... Had it in my mind, throttle position sensor, so first stop was o Reilly and a $49 part later and the transmission magically came back to life and shifts dreamy like!

So pics-

I noticed the radiator had a split in it, so picked up a new one of those too before it exploded at the least opportune moment.

Then took it for a good detailing. Even after buying parts I'm still under 2k in to it...

98 Chevy 1500 2wd 146k miles 350 automatic... May just keep it for myself!
