Been building a recording room for one of the youngin's. She's a voice actor (that's what she calls it)....in other words, she reads out loud instead of to herself... and gets money for it.
A store bought version of this 4x4x7' box is about 6 grand. We might have about $700 in it when done. Might do a build thread

Ken you can also get that foam with the pointy peaks in it and staple/glue to the inside. Very good for audio

I did a voice tape way back in college but nothing came of it. I may do it in retirement just for kicks. I have a face for radio

So I followed grandma up the canyon to help out one of my nephews.  About 200 miles round trip.  Some good elevation changes and open road to poor on the fuel
Trans temps all stayed in the 150 max range on the way up with my grill cover in place, removed for the ride back home and the temps maintained about 135.  I think this was a good investment but I won’t know what a load will do until next spring for camp season.  Unless I end up driving the truck to LA for family vacation of Christmas.  Thinking about a .   Maybe drop the truck off at mikeL for a service

The view of the cooler from the front

You can barley see the top shinny aluminum brackets in between the grill and bumper
Note the yellow circles from first picture to this photo

The song "its a great day to be alive" by Travis Tritt came on the radio yesterday and cheered me right up. Its amazing how one song can change your entire mood.

Got a new manure hauling job as soon as the new pay loader gets here. I'm shopping for an older semi to haul with so we quit beating up the good ones. I usually haul with my Pete but its broke down. In all honesty I don't like pulling the side dump with it either. I had to use the new truck yesterday. I put a nice little scratch down the side of the def tank on our 14 Kenworth hauling busted up concrete. By "little" I meant huge. It can be fixed. Plastic tank with stainless steel cover. It did its job. Without that cover I would have really tore it up. Well life goes on. So quoting the words of Travis Tritt "I think I'm going to go get me a new tattoo".

Took my daughter to look at a potential new member of the family today. She volunteers at a local equine therapy facility where they help people with handicaps ride horses. She’s been working hard and hasn’t stopped begging for a horse for five years, and now that we’re sitting in 60 acres, were in a position to let it happen. Of course that means I’m going to be building a barn/shelter and putting in some fencing. Oh well, my daughters smile was pretty awesome when she saw the horse.

That’s great Dave. Having her be a caregiver for her own animal builds character.  Now, if she can help build a fence....

She will be, she’s been researching everything for months now. This horse kind of fell into our laps. The owner is getting older and had bought the horse for his grandkids several years ago.  They lost interest after two years and she has just been his pet for the last few years, not ridden at all. He wanted to donate to the place she volunteers but they didn’t have any space for any more horses, so the administrator put us in touch with him. We’re going to get the horse, any equipment he has and about fifty bales of hay he has stored for the horse. He’s going to keep her for us until we are ready for her. Definitely an answer to my daughters prayers and mine as well.

It’s tricky, I thought it was a split lock washer at first because of the little arrow across it. Too small to be a fender washer.   Probably made in China since the thickness isn’t uniform.

Calc III?
Calc 2 intro

The idea is to find the area of one washer ( the basic idea is washer) and it follows the line F(X) with regards to g(x) and the 3 dimensional shape rotating around  the X axis.
Thus finding the volume the washer takes up.  Than add the trig stuff in and who knows what else you can do.  Thanks sir Isaac Newton

Calc II was my first guess but then I thought that 3-D must have been III.  Been about 10 years since I took those classes so it is a little rusty.  What are you going to school for?

That works just fine for finite objects.  Describing it as a washer makes it easy to conceptualize.

My first major was industrial engineering then I came to my senses and decided I wasn’t fit for a degree. Looking back now in hindsight it was the correct avenue for me, not everyone should choose that route obviously. My wife has three degrees & it worked for her. I’m the guy who starts businesses then sells and does it again. Dave, understand you need to bypass on the partial lobotomy that is normally offered with an MBA.

Only way I'd recommend it is if your employer pays for it and you have a ton of free time on your hand.

Or at least look for a school that has a professor that has spent at least 20 years in the real world before teaching MBA classes.

Boar hunting, sorry.  What type of yardage are you looking at in most cases? Co working is going on a trip and wants to upgrade his optics from a basic red dot to something more suitable.  I over heard his convo and said I might have some input after consulting you folks

Depends where you hunt them, Ashley and I were discussing this about a year back. He was riding horses in the river bottoms in heavy brush. He was looking at a new caliber and .458 socom came up in the discussion for the short yardage and heavy slug.......

I'll be glad when we get through this. Of course...that may be a while as my FIL is coming to live with us. Look forward to having time to come hang out here more.

MBA? Don't have one, doubt I ever will or need.

Now hog hunting sounds great! Have em here, but I doubt I could hunt em here like you see on youtube.

I agree Shawn. My office is littered with MBAs

I’m married to one, she passed on the lobotomy. Many of her colleagues did not.......
I'm glad I reread the message you quoted - talking about MBAs and then wild boars...

Boar hunting, sorry.  What type of yardage are you looking at in most cases? Co working is going on a trip and wants to upgrade his optics from a basic red dot to something more suitable.  I over heard his convo and said I might have some input after consulting you folks

I hunt them in the same woods as I do deer so 25-100 yards is the norm. I’m comfortable toting anything down to 1x. The hard part is that they don’t ever really stop moving unless they’re spooked. If they stop, you’ve only got a couple seconds until they get outta dodge. Also, their vitals sit further forward than those on a deer so a bullet that passes behind the shoulder is most likely through the stomach and they’ll be in the next county before they stop running. For that reason I shoot forward of the shoulder, in the neck, which is a pretty large target. They’re tough, especially in the shoulder area, but a quality 223 bullet will handle the neck shot.

You can see the entry would in this pics. It’s a little low. Ideally it’d be somewhere between the top of the shoulder and the ear.

He was right at 90lbs
