I must have accidentally stepped in something when I was feeding cows. I saw some on the tires too. Unacceptable I know! Pardon my oversight!

I sure wish they would have done foot lights like that in my 07.  Being able to see on the floor is helpful

Got my gauge bulbs swapped out for LED's. All of the main "ILL" ports take a size 194. Also changed the tag lights out for LED bulbs. Also 194's. The plan will be to swap all of the white bulbs out for LED's. (Save the headlights) I will leave the ambers, turns and tails "stock".

Got to tow a little bit today. Good thing my wife was with me because we had to put our feet out the door to get it stopped! But she pulled and handled it well! Was a pretty drastic change going from the duramax!

Definitely going to have to rebuild my old trailer though. Floor is done, need to wire my truck up for a brake controller and maybe think about a brake parts upgrade.

Upgraded the 08' express travel van with 98' Silverado knobs!

Ok, I kid! The other way around and new tunes!
Before-

After-

Pretty cool mod I think, for my Silverado anyways! We will see if the nanny notices the new knobs on the kiddie hauler!

This is my first post here. Been keeping on eye on square d. Followed you guys over from Duramax Forum. I drive a 15 Ram Cummins today. Just wanted to say your truck is looking great. We are doing some of the same things for my 17 year old daughters 95 c1500 she bought from my uncle. It is not in as good of shape paint wise but we plan to give painting a try ourselves using some of Dons techniques. It has been a good project and she is glad to be in a truck since she wants to go into the family custom home/bunker business. She is turning out to be a great hand and good at every task.
I am currently looking at replacing her exterior lights and housings. We had the rears pop out because they are brittle going over a few cattle guards. What do you think of the parts from 1A auto? Got a better source? The parts for these trucks are so much cheaper than current model parts. So far she has done all her own wrenching with minimal input from me. Four years ago i had her do my FASS 95 on my 12 LML. The install went well and works great. It was funny a few months ago, she was in a automotive class made up mostly of young girls and their moms at church. The instructor, a great GM mechanic friend, was showing how to change a flat and rotate tires. When he got done she was confused with what i had taught her and asked where his torque wrench was and if he knew the torque setting for the car. LOL. Anyway, following your progress with great interest.

I recommend masking body panels with a good high quality grease! ;-)

Welcome Jarad. I like Rock auto and just placed an order from LMC last night for a bad rear latch on the burb.

Yep, we need some pics. Did you guys know you can put the late model mirrors on those? I have even seen they are putting Kodiak door handles on!

Now wait, a 6ltr, 4L60 and 14bt?

Masking? I like the 3m film, used it a few times.

So I came up with a list of to-do's! Unfortunately or fortunately however you want to describe it, A new build is about to be amongst us. We will call it "Old Blue to Yeller". My second oldest boy is about to be seventeen this summer and we are going to slick up my old blue 1987 Chevrolet SCLB 2wd. The truck belonged to my dad and I restored it when I was 17 or 18'sh and drove the wheels off of it. Anyways, it's time to send it down the line. So look for the new thread in the next day or so!

Back to Tina and the list!
-Steering damper
-My new throttle body spacer, Thanks to JR and another mod to the throttle body
-drivers door pins/bushings
-I am going to un-install the mirrors and rebuild them/paint them and re-install
-I am going to finish rust inhibiting and undercoating the frame
-passenger's side door handle and both interior door handle trims
-I am going to retrofit some kind of LED light source into the manual map lights because I can't for the life of me find any bulbs with hook and hoop fastener
-HD front brake kit, HD rear brake kit, fluid flush etc...
-I am thinking about plugging in a second battery, since there is a hole for it and all.
-Bigger alternator and something called a "big 3" conversion to beef up the battery and ground cables.

At some point I am going to contact the fund appropriation committee about  setting up an acquisition proceeding on the powerhouse/running gear swap! But that will be a while. I'm not really sure why I am dumping so much dough in an 18 year old truck, but the kids are enjoying it!

Dude, I feel your pain.  My LB7 is the real money pit.  I've put more than 20K in it in the 4 years I've had it.
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

It really doesn't matter old or new you end up in the same result which is spending a lot of dough

Dude, I feel your pain.  My LB7 is the real money pit.  I've put more than 20K in it in the 4 years I've had it.

That is paltry compared to SD. Heck, I have 5k in parts laying around for mine and then the sub!

So on a whim before my road trip to "the city" I decided to install the steering damper and JR's throttle body spacer.

The steering damper is AWESOME! The spacer will be determined tomorrow on the fill up. I also ground off some lip on the throttle body valve because it's a free country and it looked restrictive!

It seems to have a little more power on the top end. On the low end it just sounds a little different.

That lip is a common low end issue fix. Helped the Blazer that had the same.
