No Superbowl for me!
« on: February 04, 2018, 01:17:05 PM »
I will not be watching the US SuperBowl today

Someone will hopefully record the commercials for me, especially the Marine Corps recruitment one that is rumored to be good.

I don't even know who is playing!!!!!!!!!!!

Had the NFL Leadership taken a strong stance against this kneeling for the flag thing
Had they not come down asymmetrically harder on Christian players for displaying their beliefs publicly
I would enjoy the game as i have every year of my life.

This was a good year of high school sports for me, and I guess, that and college ball will fill the void from the passing of Professional Football from my pool of experience.

Fut from this broke kneed veteran to that nappy headed disrespecter of my flag and nation, son, because of you and your communist self centered, spoiled friends this cowboy is done with your industry.

I sincerely hope their viewership numbers are abysmal today. This house will not be playing the super bowl, or any other nfl game for that matter.

I?m with you fellas. Just hanging with the wife and kids at the house today. I thought about this last year and am going to go ahead and plan it for next year. A non-Superbowl Party, no football on the tube, but plenty of appetizers and friends to be had.

The only NFL game I ever watch is the Super Bowl. I couldn't careless about the game. My wife wants to watch the commercials.

Me and the wife discussed this.  We will have a super Food party next year.  Not much of a possibility of turning on the football game

I?m watching it, I heard no eagles took a knee during the season. So I?ll be rooting for them along with 99% of whoever else watches the game......

Go eagles, if that is the case Shawn. Got a pork loin on the Trager and lots of beer in the fridge. Couple people coming over for dinner. Not the game, just dinner.

I will say we have been watching quite a bit of college basketball though this year. Add in my girls playing middle school & high school basketball & we?re not missing anything with the lack of watching nfl games.

I was wondering why they played the game in mini

That place is about (Really) -20F right now. No one would want to come there this time of year, so I'm betting they were planning ton a abyssal failure, and mini could use any help (tourism) they could get this time of year, so it was a marriage made in hell I guess.

Time to DOT up this thread. The ideal Super Bowl sponsor would be?:

The Democrat party
Or....

Best part of the game was when head coach for eagles gives all the credit to Jesus Christ!

Well, Don, Eagles coach just thanked his "Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" on national TV for making all things possible as did one of his captains, and the quarterback/MVP......Glad I watched for the first time this year! :likebutton:

I wished I had stayed home to watch the telly, instead of going out to check on a game camera that quit sending pics Tuesday.  It quit sending pics because someone cut the tree down that it was attached to so they could steal it. I'm guessing cartel but who knows.

Claymore or two would be a much more effective alternative Ken.

Ken,

Make some of these. I have and they work really well!

https://youtu.be/Qj7lBH4nbXo

I have used black power or acetylene and fishing line. Scares the bejeezus out of them but other than some plastic shrapnel it can hurt them too much.

I can't remember where I bought the inert triggers but I think they were for smoke grenades. I still have a bag of them.

On second thought. It would scare off the game also... nevermind.

Reviewing the SB viewership, it immediately reminded me of a parallel in the bible

Matthew 19:24

And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."

The parallel I draw to this is that in the scripture points to the fact that a rich man is distracted by his wealth to the point that he ignores God's call and misses the opportunity...That so few find their way to heaven...

and

Matthew 7:13

"Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate is wide and the road is spacious that leads to destruction, and many people are entering by it.

So few are led by strong internal moral conviction, so few. This is PC in operation. It is so easy to jump on the bus, enjoy the ride surrounded by like minded people. So much more difficult to stay the course and do the right thing.

I feel good about my decision, saddened a bit by my fellow national border occupiers, But that's life in modern times.
