HF 9 Amp Recip Saw
« on: December 11, 2018, 08:21:12 PM »
For some reason, both my corded and battery recip saws are down at the farm and my need for one is all the way up here at Casa-Don.

So I just bought another one. Makes sense!

I have been having pretty good luck with the Harbor Freight premium lines of tools. Just go for the best of whatever you are looking at and you probably landed on a decent product. No Dewalt not Milwaukee by any stretch, but serviceable, and job killin', You Bet!

Price was $59.95. Packaging was sufficient and the product appears to be robust

The blade retainer is a clever little quarter turn bayonet style device. Simple, cost effective, easy and it retained the blades just fine

So today I gave it a workout, cutting the factory exhaust system, hangers and all off a Suburban. I made a bunch of cuts, making several in rapid succession. THe saw heated up, but never stalled nor really slowed at all. It's as powerful as my Hitachi corded saw which I have had for many years.

I went through 2 6" heavy metal blades cutting the stainless over and over. The saw seems unaffected by it all. For me, it was worth $50 just to have that exhaust off that easily, so I have to give this saw a solid endorsement. May it find peace and contentment and lots of stuff to chew on for years to come.

Sounds like a wise use of time and money.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.
