Christmas gifts for the kiddies, what did you get for them?
« on: December 18, 2018, 05:23:19 PM »
Ranger big, so far $500 cash, some ammo... Not done with him just yet

But I am emphasizing buying fewer things, taking the focus off monetary stuff

Money cause the kid will be driving this annum, will need monies...

Wife spent $400 or more on each daughter. Have no idea what she bought....

Grandma added a substantial amount to all three’s college fund this year again. So again I’m grateful for that because in 1.5 years the first will be on her way.

We give girls a grand on 16th and float them a loan if needed for first vehicle.

Our 15 month old has some small packages to open on Christmas but we figure she’ll have more fun tearing paper than anything. Our focus is on college funds so we started her a 529 last night.

My daughter is only 2 so just a doll with some accessories, some books, for some reason she loves carrying a backpack around so a little backpack for her.  A couple other relatively small things.  She is the only grandchild on both sides of the family so she will get loaded up for the grandparents too.

I have 2 daughters 5 and 7 years old.

Short back story.  October 2016 we decided we were done with debt and started an aggressive payoff or debt snowball.  My wife was worried about how we were going to do Christmas on a tight budget.  I think we spent $100 on each of our daughters that year.  Only 4-5 gifts each, which had us questioning how Christmas was going to be received by our children.  Christmas morning after all the presents were opened our children ran to us and said "This is the best Christmas ever!"  What a blessing that was and reassurance that we are doing the right thing.

This will be our 3rd and last Christmas on our debt snowball.  The girls are getting a new bicycle, a couple small toys and clothing.

My wife wants a gas range

So she gets a gas range installed, my dime

I don't want anything, really, just nothing, so I talked her into making the gas range both of our gifts...

Grandson a book, wind up bathtub toy, pull toy gator and a combo xylophone hammer block toy. Next year I’ll make a rocking horse for him.

Wife a single cup Keurig for work, some water ionizing bottle she wanted and some odds and ends. We usually shop for ourselves - LOL! “Here, wrap this and hide it!”

Very smart Longball. I wish I had done the same.

For our 20 year old daughter clothes and airfare tickets. College tuition and all expenses.... LOL
17 year old son clothes, Xbox credits, Cash, ... weird we have no electronics on the list this year.
Wife I always buy her one expensive perfume she likes, LL bean slippers she wanted, and like the others she buys stuff for me to wrap from me to her and I buy stuff for her to wrap for me. :)  We get exactly what we want.

Going to insulate and finish our garage in the next month so I got this from Santa!

My wife has a pair of Ugg slippers.   Need to replace them, honestly we get each other things usually after Christmas or like most guys on here I buy what I need when I need it.

I want happy kids over the holiday so I don’t have to see them grumpy.

I did get this on Tuesday

I’ve got the same Dewalt saw. Works good but the battery doesn’t last long. I’m talking it’ll be dead after ripping one 8’ sheet of particle board. The blade doesn’t keep spinning once you let off the trigger. Almost like it has breaks on it.

They do have a brake designed into them it’s really nice.  What battery do you have? The XR like the or the 5AH or?

Upgrade my friend you will be greatly happy you did.  I get days out of s charge on my impact and the saw is good for a 5-6 hour day pending on type of cuts.

These blades do make a difference also. Less resistance on a cut means less work on the motor.

I use the 60 volt saw. Loads of power and works like half a day
No experience, though, on a 20V saw...
