BBQ rub - very good, very easy
« on: February 27, 2015, 03:10:58 PM »
Hey guys, wanted to share a great BBQ rub recipe... Full disclosure, I can't take credit for it, but have been using it for a long time. Somebody shared it with me along the way, and I love it. I make big batches around Christmas too and take to my guys at work and other friends and family. I suppose since it doesn't have a name, i'll let you call it what you want  ;D

It is fantastic on pork and chicken.

______ BBQ RUB

1 cup paprika
1 cup kosher salt
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup granulated garlic
3/4 cup granulated onion
1/2 cup chili powder
2 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper
2 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Apply liberally, and spritz/mop with Apple Cider if desired depending on what you're smoking.

Enjoy!

Couple photos using the rub...

Some like 'em saucy, some like 'em dry!

These I think I threw some Italian seasoning in the mix in as well for fun

Big ole slab of spares, and also some country style ribs (probably were on sale!)

Some pulled pork

By the Great Lakes, surrounded by farm fields.

Pepper jack, swiss or fresh cheddar is AMAZING on pulled pork, or well just about anything.
