Just looking at some recommendations, 1+ for big trucks but the 7/8th is rated for 4 times the trucks weight.

Since it started here I'll put this here...

https://youtu.be/-iHAjOrrU4k

Nice drone footage of the glory hole at 3.5 ft over
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

I'm surprised there is no safety barrier around it to keep boats out.

On the 7/8 rope strength.
I think that my bubba is the same rating.

When attempting to pull the 18 wheeler, I hit a 4wd run of about 6 feet.
Then proceeded to burn all four tires on the hard surface of the road for another 6 feet.
Stretch like crazy, and no issue with strength.
Once I tractioned out, it pulled me back a couple feet before letting off.

I think it is sufficient, guessing 28-30k sitting on the road.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

There is a floating barrier a couple hundred yards up. What is cool is the road (128) is so close you get right next to it.

I think more water is flowing from the power station than the glory hole. Glory hole is just surface gravity but the PS has the water pressure pushing it (400ft deep).

Down stream is normally a 10-15ft wide creek with fishing and lots of access. Little wider now, see the bench?

You would have NO chance if you fell in near it, just to much water moving.

It has claimed 1 person who thought it would be cool to try it. Water was lower but still too much.

Next to it is almost tranquil. It is much quieter than you would guess. From drawing I have seen it drops about 200ft then does the turn to the outlet. Just after the turn there is a lip, then an airway which is why there is little spray/noise.

It is 72 ft across and can handle 360,000 cubic ft per second (that is 3 times what they are pulling from Oroville right now)

Wow! 72 feet across is far bigger than it looks in the pic!
Yeah, that will move a LOT of water.

The NYTimes had a story (linked from Drudge....not like I would go there on my own! ) that said the water moves slowly near it and someone could swim away from the glory hole if they wanted. I was thinking to myself there is no bleeping way someone could swim away if they were caught in that- as you say JR just too much water moving.

Its eerie too the way it just disappears down into......something..... Yeesh

Well, not a good WDYDT, blew the motor in Bertha.
So like any good bush man, towed it home.

That was after the two mile walk to the marina to pick up my other sled.
About 30mph with my Renegade as the horse.

Hope the video works...

Sorry for the vertical video.

I wondered about this..... made my arms itchy after the shower. And I wondered, "how are my arms itchy I didn't play in fiberglass" but I did load arm fulls into about 7 bags.

Oh and to answer your question, regrettably, I did not. I ordered me a new rz mask this morning and will wear it to complete the house, and had intended to do so from the beginning however we left later than planned so things were forgotten, to include my mask.

I could swing an engine block from it. It's waaaay over built.  Rated at 4000 lb. (2k each side on the weakest component ) I suspect at least 2x safety factor.

Hauled rocks to the dump/landscape supply. Dug these all out of the yard last year.

Was a little soupy. I may have goosed it a little on the way out ;)

Then hauled all this hazardous waste to the recycling center.

Ran a couple more errands...

So, basically I drove around a bunch today.

Also worked on cleaning the garage.

It works amazingly well. I put a tarp underneath to catch all the rocks that don't stay on the main tarp... however the blue tarp pulled with the roller and got caught up in it. Best laid plans...
Still was able to offload all the rock in less than 10 minutes.
I wish the roller tarp was wider, but then you have to deal with "locked loads" (around the wheel well). Think I need to build a little box to prevent that when using this.

Temporarily finished the swing. Climbing technique much improved with double foot loops.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.
