Broke my Glock
« on: October 09, 2014, 07:52:20 PM »
Broke a Glock. This is my EDC gen 3 G19... Not sure how this occurred. Glock says I had to have dropped it, but two weeks ago during cleaning it wasn't like this. Put 500 through it the other day doing some drills from concealment. Stripped it to clean and this is what I got. Had to happen during carry somehow bc I wasn't doing any muzzle drives this day... Oh well, here is my $180.00 paperweight-

Link is empty, would like to see it too!

I do know they updated all our 22s some years back. Heck, I must have 10k plus through it easy, still shoots like new. Solids reset and just put Mepro sites on it.

Suffering from "Glock Block" activities- no pictures, but it's surprising that the manufacturer wouldn't work with you on it.  I'd think they'd want to have it to do some research into the whole thing?!

Really want to see some pics.

My G17 has 18,000 rounds through it and not a single malfunction even when running 1600 rounds of crappy steel cased wolf thought it without cleaning.

I'm an unapologetic Glock fanboy (as long as you replace the trigger disconnect with a Ghost Rocket)

What is a Ghost Rocket and why use one?

Only thing I ever do with a glock is to add an extended slide release, well that and add floor plates to the mags...Then I run the big gun mags in the compact guns...

I am still up in the air on the floor plate. More rounds are better but $15 for 1 round?

Slide release, YES. The factory is way to small. Also a big fan of better sights.

I had the 23 mags in my 27 until I sold it and got the 23. They make nice sleeves for those but are a little sloppy. I have several non factory 30 rnd mags, but the KCIs are not drop free, but they work.

OK, see the ghost rocket on GB, does it just reduce pull?

Ghost Rocket disconnect is as close as you'll ever get to a 1911 trigger pull in a Glock.

It reduces the factory 5lb trigger to 2.5lb, the minimum "safe" according to some....

PLUS, it has a tab that the factory disconnect doesnt have that is "fitted" (meaning filed down a little at a time until you get the right reset) so that the overtravel and reset is less than 1/16 of an inch.  Makes double taps and follow up shots very quick and clean.  I promise if you get one installed and do it right, you will never, ever, want to shoot a factory Glock trigger again.

SLAM!

Glock might want to update their QC department with a higher drop test section then...  ;D

I volunteer to work that department.
