Guys on a much less serious note....

Pray for me and my family that we may make the right decision.

I'm being presented with an opportunity to take a CEO role in Nashville.  Uprooting the family is a tough thing when the girls are in middle school and one has had some issues with depression and thoughts of harming herself.

My family is here, hers is in Memphis.  Its a great opportunity and long term the money would be awesome due to the equity.  In know there is more to life than money but all the things seem to point in the right direction.

Thanks
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

That is a lot to chew on TRN. Good luck with the decision.

Maybe you can let the kids finish school while you get settled if you take the job.

i show little emotion towards animals because they come and go throughout life. that being said my dog (Odie) hasnt been 100% for the past 2 weeks.

keep him and us in prayer. It's just another thing added to a long list of things that have put more pressure on me.

TRN I wish you the best with your decision, I know there are lots of factors that enter into it. I am convinced that things happen for a reason and while we don't always know the reasons (or that it some times takes months or even years to find out the reasons), we have to go slow and let our "little voice" guide us. That "little voice" involves faith obviously but other things as well, listening to your wife, to your kids, to others in the industry and others at the company (and some times those things you "listen to" may tell you it would be a bad decision, which is very important to listen to as well). So often when you make the list of good and bad (the old Ben Franklin balance sheet) about a decision, the "good" is often solely financial, while the "bad" are all the disruptions to the lives of those around us. Now it doesn't sound like that will completely be the case for you as your wife has family near there (if I read that correctly?), but hopefully my point makes sense. Have you asked your kids what they think? Maybe ask them to come up with their own "Ben Franklin balance sheets" for how the decision would impact them. You might be surprised at what comes out of it. And no matter what you decide (go no go) you will have tought them another lesson in being thoughtful and making decisions on facts rather than emotion. I sincerely wish you the best of luck. I know it's not an easy decision to make. And I will pray that you make the right decision for you and your family. I know you will.

Praying over all these needs this morning

Suggestion for all

For today and at least 30 days thereafter, pray the Lords Prayer over you and your family

Emphasize, YOUR KINGDOM COME, YOUR WILL BE DONE

Just do it and rest in your faith

Do it...

...And if you are saved

Claim what is yours. That is authority over sickness and disease, over hungar, over lust over addictions that YOU have the authority to break those chains! YOU DO SOLDIER! Hear me. Jesus died and gave all that to the church. We are the church. He is the head we are the body (church). Show me a head that functions that functions without a body...Well, other than in Commiefornia ;-)
Seriously show me a body that moves about without its head. Show me, and if you can't then learn from that
Takes both parts. It takes Jesus advocating in heaven at the right side of the Father and it takes us putting our left in front of our right. It takes US and a physical effort to put down the bottle, set aside the pills, turn off the porn and stop cursing. It takes us to stop an affair or walk up to a long held hatred for someone and stick your hand out.

Take authority over the defeated foe. You have authority over Satan and all his dominion. You do, so being a man of God take authority. For the big decisions like the one our cowboy red neck friend faces, ask for wisdom, and get real quiet while reading the word or seeking God. Listen. Listen to spirit filled men and see what comes of it. Claim victory and rebuke foul spirits and evil, simply set it aside, you are above those. Evoking your authority and standing in faith, claim victory over that sore knee just like I just did 30 minutes ago and give it no more thought.

As a functional note, you don't have to keep asking, God's hearing is fine. But what you do need to do is repent, ask forgiveness, get right with your God and humbly approach him with prayer. Then make your request known. Know that the prayer for a new car is so useless as to be about as effective as Jesse Jackson with healing racial divide. Those prayers which serve kingdom building will be answered. Not necessarily in the manner you want..."Father God Please make me CEO of this company and give me a big raise"actually may come back as "Ya know dad, I love you and what you are doing here, I'm glad you stayed here where you have more time to share with me."

I don't know, I'm no Oracle, I just trust. I don't think God is a liar, and to me that makes his word true. So he either is truthful and will execute on his word or he's lying and I'm pretty certain surrendering to the fact that Jesus is real puts you in the first camp.

So men, don't ask as much as you did. Ask of some things, "Lord send me the wife you have created for me." But on things that you have authority over, learn to give orders. "Satan, you have no authority over my daughter. I command the spirit of defiance and of self doubt to flee, in the name of Jesus, and I command and pray a line of the blood of Christ Jesus around this child. No harm shall come to her in the name of Jesus."

Stand up and learn what our NCO's in the Army already know. They have authority, they use it. They give an order and it is followed. They waste no more time on it and move on to the next task. Well most of them do...Guys like Bobby and Nate stand around and argue some, but for the most part they git er dun!

So you do the same

Move out, CM...

Praise report: although I continue to have multiple stones in each kidney, I have no serious blockage or kidney damage, and I gave birth to this little fella this morning. 4.7mm per my dial caliper here at work. There is no greater feeling of relief and satisfaction than getting rid of something you didn't even know was causing pain. The lack of pain is like waking up after your best day at work, home, winning the lottery, best cup of coffee ever, kid won a scholarship and you got a raise at work. the image is not for the faint of heart.

Father, thank you for all that you do for us here on earth as we make our way back to you. Bless these men as they have blessed me and countless others.

I take great comfort in knowing that Don "thy will be done". The lord has a plan for us all.  The question is do we have time to hear and truly listen to the lords plan.   I have often wondered after making my own pigheaded choice if I could have chose a better path....... the path we have chose has led us to who exactly we are today.   Learn from our past focus on future and never turn away from guidance

My youngest is going in for a basic surgery Friday morning. going to have his tonsils and adenoids removed, the boys is strong and I am sure he will do fine. Momma on the other hand is terrified and honestly it being my first time I am a little bit on edge as well.  Prayers and thoughts would be appreciated good fellows

Catching up.  Prayers Dave.  Routine surgery is something that happens to someone else or someone else's family.

New Prayer Request:

Robert Blout...My wife's Uncle (That makes him my uncle as well, right?)

He's in the hospital...Enlarged prostrate, can't urinate...has gout...got a kidney problem which is getting better

Get this: He is 97!

He was an actual Army Ranger from WW2!!!!!!!!!!

Well, mostly...The Rangers were seeking volunteers from amongst the troops at the time. He, a qualified infantryman, volunteered and was sent to Ranger training in England. He earned the patch, graduating from the course, but then asked to be sent back to his original infantry unit to fight with the friends he had enlisted with from Cincinnati, his and their home. His request was granted and he instantly became the most highly qualified grunt in his company, where over time he rose in rank. I believe he finished as a master Sergeant, with multiple decorations.

Hit the beach on D-Day and fought until the very end of the war as a grunt. Steely eyed killer, that one, but never, never talks about it. He was doing push-ups every day right up to this year. Lives and has lived in a small mobile home his whole life. Never took, nor asked for much. He is a real deal man from our greatest generation.

Please lift him up for healing and mending and in the name of Jesus, we bind up the spirit of sickness and suffering. They shall have no dominion over this warrior.

I want to stand beside a 100 year old combat Ranger in a few years!

More Prayers sent, we need to keep those men around in good health.

On another note, My mother (Sally Bronk) goes in for a Pacemaker in the AM. She is 78 with COPD and mild heart issue and can barely cross a room right now.

She is the last of my family still on this great earth. She put up with my father who retired from the Marines (passed in 2000, 3xkorea-2xnam), me and my younger brother (passed in 89).

I was just about to post about that. Thanks.

She came through surgery great, but they kept her overnight.

Got her around 1530 today, she was waiting in the chair as I drove up and hopped right in! She can't tell yet but I thought she was doing a little better. Then she went to Costco on her own to get samples (that is a weekly outing for her)

Update, this started yesterday.

Mom was due to have her checkup for the pace maker. Well, she ended up in the ER first thing in the AM for shortness of breath, ending up having a mild pneumonia.

Blood tests came back messed up so transferred to another hospital for more tests. During the test an artery tears with stints and BP goes under 60. She may have had a mild stroke, but seems OK now asking for them to call me and wanted a puzzle book. Dr said it as touch and go for a few minutes.

She is now in ICU and I am off to see her.

Thanks guys, she looked pretty bad. I think she missed any stroke damage as arms and face function well and alert for her condition.

Only 15 min away so will see her again today. Nice thing is she has the same Dr that treated her several years ago for much of the same thing.

We have a funny connection with pets.

They accept and serve you as you are. They don't try to change you, ask you where you were and are always happy to see you.

Sorry for the loss.

That's tough, Dave. Beautiful poem. Made me think of my dog, Apollo, who we had to put down a few months back. It hurts, but they're no longer suffering.
