Battle lines drawn

This sounds very much like 1930’s Germany and their control of religion plus anti-semitism. Pray that Kavanaugh can be confirmed so that justice will prevail.

Battle Lines Drawn Over Supreme Court Pick’s Christian Faith
It’s easy to chalk up the far left’s hysteria of Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court as yet another instance of Trump Derangement Syndrome. But this time, battle lines have been drawn squarely over his devotion to God.

Almost every Democrat in the U.S. Senate has lined up to assassinate the character of the federal judge who serves as a husband, father and Christian. His reputation as a fair and impartial jurist has raised no red flags. His rulings from the bench demonstrate a brilliant and rarely-equaled knowledge of the U.S. Constitution.

Without question, Judge Kavanaugh ranks among the utmost qualified people to be nominated to the high court. But, he’s a church-going Catholic and liberals won’t stand for it.

In an effort to slow-walk and defeat his nomination, Democrats have requested more than one million documents about Kavanaugh. The outlandish request has been infused with hateful remarks about the man who coaches in his daughters’ Catholic basketball league.

“Brett Kavanaugh is a dangerous criminal,” Hillary Shelton of the NAACP reportedly said.

Kavanaugh also tutors underprivileged elementary school children, serves meals to the homeless and guest speaks in church. Everyday Americans can expect to bear witness to one of the most unhinged Congressional hearings with his Catholicism as the left’s red line in the sand.

Since the days when Judge Kavanaugh was appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit by Pres. George W. Bush in 2006, things have dramatically changed in Washington.

Kavanaugh ascended to his post with relative ease. Christianity wasn’t quite the bad word liberal Democrats view it as today. A more recent dust-up between California Sen. Diane Feinstein and Circuit Court nominee Amy Coney Barret shows that the left will not tolerate Christian judges.

“When you read your speeches, the conclusion one draws is that the dogma lives loudly within you,” Sen. Feinstein criticized Judge Barrett.

Barrett, also a Catholic, was taken to task by Democrat senators over her devout faith. Many saw it as a reason to disqualify her for a judgeship. To that end, several Senate Democrats are refusing to even meet with Kavanaugh as the process ramps up.

Only in states that are mostly conservative and Christian have Democrat senators agreed to meet. Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia was the first to extend his hand. West Virginia was won overwhelmingly by Pres. Donald J. Trump.

One of the primary reasons that liberals rally against Christians is that God stands between them and a country in which they can preach secular values. Moral issues such as abortion and racism are addressed in the Bible. The good book opposes both and that creates a central problem for Democrats who garner votes by dividing Americans.

Despite the fact that religious tests are forbidden under Article VI of the Constitution, Democrats plan to shrug off their oath and apply one regardless.

Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has already covertly called for a litmus test for Pres. Trump’s nominations. Religion and the exclusion of Christians is at the center of his thinking when he said the test should be “an affirmative statement of support for the personal liberties of all Americans.” Sen. Schumer is advocating for abortion, same-sex marriage and a far-left worldview.

During the confirmation hearings of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, New Jersey liberal Sen. Corey Booker threw mud asking whether he believed homosexuality was “perverse.” Now-Secretary Pompeo would not dignify the radical senator’s line of questioning. In response, Booker soiled twitter saying, “At his confirmation hearing, Mike Pompeo repeatedly refused to answer a simple question: Do you believe being gay is a perversion?”

The Kavanaugh hearings are expected to sink to even lower depths. Political analysts expect unsubstantiated claims of bigotry, misogyny and framing Kavanaugh’s Christianity as cult-like.

Conservatives, on the other hand, may hold their noses and vote yes, disappointed that Kavanaugh is not conservative enough for them. His appointment would replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy whose views are similar to Kavanaugh’s. Consider where Judge Kavanaugh stands on important Christian issues.

Catholicism:Judge Kavanaugh remains an active practicing Catholic and lector at the Most Blessed Sacrament in Washington, D.C. His volunteer work includes tutoring at Washington Jesuit Academy and helping the homeless through Catholic Charities.
Abortion:Kavanaugh wrote a dissenting opinion that an unaccompanied illegal immigrant teen did not have a right to a taxpayer-funded abortion while in U.S. protective custody.
ObamaCare:The judge wrote a dissenting opinion that Obamacare’s mandate that employers be forced to provide contraceptive care “substantially burden the religious organizations’ exercise of religion because the regulations require the organizations to take an action contrary to their sincere religious beliefs (submitting the form) or else pay significant monetary penalties.”
In terms of religious makeup on the U.S. Supreme Court, Kavanaugh would maintain the status quo. Retiring Justice Kennedy is also a Catholic with similar views about the law and faith. Secular Democrats may attempt to tarnish another loving Christian’s reputation. However, America will wake up a more religiously tolerant place after Republicans and a few conservative Democrats cast 50-plus votes for Brett Kavanaugh.
