Do you mean the bill will allow everyone to CC?
Kentucky did that a couple years ago. Everyone carries now. Crime doesn't much happen or at least we aren't hearing about it.

That’s my understanding of the new bill, yes.

I hope it goes through but still be able to maintain my ccp because it fits other states around me also.

I think Az doesn’t accept Utah’s.   I think

It’s like a driver license around here,   Maybe not Provo area but there aren’t many who don’t have them.

I have suggested to many of the young kids I have worked with to get it weather they own a gun or not, to support the issue so to speak

But if they dump them I’m fine with it also

Cox hasn’t made the news much since he started so who knows what he will do.  He’s kinda a dink if ya ask me

Was watching Diners Drive Ins and Dives and they were at a place in Roy Utah outside of SLC called the burger bar and I saw Dave on there eating an 8 patty burger in 15 minutes.

They do make an awesome burger but I assure you I’m a burly burger and Brigham challenge guy

I sure glad I don’t have bleached hair any more. That’s twenty plus years ago.

My mom (78) worked there as her first job in high school,   They have a specialty meat every week, alligator, kangaroo, bison, stuff like that they make burgers out of.  They also stopped doing hard scooped malts a few years ago.

Used to be a hoppin spot for Friday flash mob car shows and running into old friends.  It’s kinda need of an update or at least pave the parking lot

Back to the vise, it’s all part now,

The body as a whole looks ok,  needs some TLC, some new jaws,

Otherwise a soak in diesel for a few days ought to do it some good and I’ll clean her up from there

Looks like manufacturing date are 1930-50 ish, USA made, maybe 100lbs total 6.5 jaws and a mouth I didn’t measure

I have been scowering CL and FB looking for a nice vise. The prices are just stupid, new is worse for anything worth while. A darn wilton is like $800 now!

I could handle that burger, less the onions.

Burger is great, but the vise is timeless.

Just like our go-to hippy loves him some money pits, our boss liking busted chainsaws, Texan and his whiskey, Fred buying everything in the world, I have a fettish for well built tools.... and a good American vise is the epitome of a good tool.

No more pics of that vise Dave. Please. Cold showers no bueno.

I’ll get some more photos when I get it out of its diesel bath,   Plan to strip it down to bare metal, need to source to jaws and maybe someone who will let me spin some parts on their lathe, and make flat face and so forth

Ran into a gent on Instagram gram who buys brass bushings in loose parts of the head and shafts,  I’ll see if I can find some photos to add

Customer had this and needed a kingpin gm axle I have.

Showed pics of this to a good friend and he wanted it and has money to build it but not the knowledge. So I brought it in for him. We have a mutual friend, him and I are going to coach him on the rebuild. Walk him thru the process.

I’ve already named the project as “Johns lil Willy”

No, upgraded drive train with fuel injection. It just makes sense in Colorado with change in elevation etc.

Actually considering a 292 straight 6 w/ turbo or maybe a kubota diesel w/ turbo. Toss in a Muncie m20 & np205 with a 44 up front and same in rear or a Ford 9. Buddy wants to keep wheels narrow and tucked under. His ocd would have him cleaning every other day otherwise.

Little turbo diesel would be cool but bet a v6 would work better in the long run.

Isn't a 205 a little overkill for that?

Maybe but we want to use the m20 and I can get a short adapter for it. Overall length is most important, if I end up with a gear driven t-case then even better.

One section paint/grease free

Is there anyone who can tell me why not to smooth out the front of this vise?

All the abuse from years makes me want to get a flap dust out and clean it up some.

Thoughts?

The base has three attachment points. The side points are still good, the back is broken and gone.   It’s not perfect nor a collector item at this point.

Opnions

I would say have the top machined flat. That is if you can shim the top under the anvil to take it up. Looks like it was beat on pretty good.

I think I’ll leave the shaft area alone.  It’s along ways away from ever being a tight vise.

I was looking at the front in that last photo.

Just disc that down with a disc. A nice thick paint will fill the rest.

Thinking about this; https://smile.amazon.com/4800R-Reversible-Reversed-Opening-Throat/dp/B07V3NXQV3/ref=sr_1_29?dchild=1&keywords=bench+vise&qid=1613350337&s=hi&sr=1-29

Comes in a tad smaller size but would be great for on the bench.

I put a scratch coat on it and took a flat file across it.  To see the high spots.   I’ll play a little more tomorrow afternoon.

I think your right, clean a little and use the darn thing

That Wilton would be a great piece for your big table!

Shawn, you're going to chop up that Jeep? You know how rare it is to find one not butchered and/or rusted out?

I spent 2 years trying to find the original lawn chair seats for mine (before internet), and finally found one folded in half and one rusted out. My former boss put about 40 hours into rebuilding them.
I had to weld together 2 hoods to get it back right. Same with the tailgate.

If I had to do it again, I wouldn't have. It was running great, and used for hunting until I tore it down. Oh well

Ken, I’m not a purist. It has some rust which will get fixed. A guy restoring one needs all those parts you mentioned so they’ll go to a good home.

Finally, I’m not chopping up anything as it’s not my Jeep.

Cant go wrong wit a Wilton. We have 3 and they have been abused pretty hard. You will need a bigger one than you think.

Spent most the of the day thawing out water tanks. Finally cut a hole in one to pour hot water on the float. The problem is that tank is it was designed for 300 head of cattle. We have 19 in that pen. Not enough water flowing through to keep it thawed. It's about shot so will be replacing with a smaller one later this year.

Even more global warming!
We need to get rid of gas burnin' cars or this snow will really start to pile up!

Did I mention Biden is an idiot?

And BTW, why are 7,000 federalized troops still in Washington DC?

Shoveling snow??
