Now Nate I do have one of those but it drips red.  The return line weaps but never enough to drip.  This stuff is black as night.  Like 20k oil change except my dipstick oil is clean

 Yeah.
Just take the air cleaner out to look around first.
Could still be a trans line like Nate said.

I’ve got what appears to be a rear main leak. Could be oil pan too I suppose.
Nearing 300k miles. I might have to freshen her up.

Made a metal run. Picked up assorted angle iron to work on some projects.  Plan to build a rear platform for the zero turn and mount a boom sprayer. It’ll also have a removable basket to carry chainsaw, etc and maybe a couple of hooks for a string trimmer

You can store them at my place, plenty of space in the safe for you, only twenty minutes further south than Don.......plus you don’t have to worry about them accidentally getting run over by a green tractor.

Friday afternoon I broke a guide rod on on of the row units into the planter. The broken rod then rattled around and wore a hole in one of the air bags for down pressure. When we got this blue planter I ordered a bunch of spare parts. But not air bags. Parts will come Monday so we went to the river for the weekend.
Today is the day my daughter should graduate. They are having a parade instead. Will be attending that later today.

Went to tractor supply to pick up stock tanks I ordered for the hydroponics system & they had that screwed up. So was able to bring home four 50 gallon units for the vegetable beds. The large fish holding tank 150 gallon was out of stock even though they were supposed to all be rain checked together.....

Then went to landscape supply with small trailer and bought a yard and a half of planters mix for our outside raised beds and wheel barrowed that to the back yard. Dropped trailer at storage and am relaxing as Sat is out day of rest here.....

Woke up 04:00, coffee, eggs, headed to Lowe’s , the dump, and then to the dirt yard. Needed a new ballast for one of the 8ft t-12 fixtures and got some lump charcoal and spray paint.  Picked up 1 yard of crushed granite to fill the gaps in the stones I laid and then dress up the front walk where some had washed away. Then made chocolate chip pancakes for the girls and some eggs and bacon for mamma. Then welded hooks on the box blade and cut off the hitch and rewelded it on after reinforcing the top edge of the box blade.  Then started making a steel table with 3 shelves with expanded metal and angle iron. Need a place to hold shoes and boots.  Didn’t stop all day and now I’m starving and waiting on dinner. Glazed ham and fresh spinach from the garden and some sweet potatoes.  Maybe I’ll get some pics tomorrow. Too tired.

Ok axle gurus, I pulled right rear hub off the dmax today... found this scoring on the spindle. Can’t feel any noticeable grooves or ridges, so can I lightly polish this up some how and get new bearings for the hub and be good to go?

Left side is cleaned up in prep for paint. Is there any part that I should NOT paint, besides the spindle that I’ve masked off (i.e. assemble things first and then paint it so the flange maintains metal to metal contact without a layer of paint)?

Don't paint the inner seal's running surface. Other than that avoid the area where the bearing seats and then paint away

Yeah, I have the seal mounting surface masked off. I was thinking about the piece that is sandwiched between the backing plate and the mounting flange because currently it is bare metal to metal. Don’t want to goop it up with paint and have it sit off axis.

Thanks Ken.

Any thoughts on the scoring/rust/whatever I see on the bottom of the spindle? I’m sure Shawn or Tate will chime in too.

Hard to tell in pics but it looks minimal and you stated you can’t feel any grooves or ridges (you can feel .002 with fingers btw, thickness of hair) so maybe some scotch brite or steel wool and send it.

Yeah, grooves can happen from the bearings being too loose. Make sure it doesn't have a sharp edge on the seal shoulder and send it.

Picked up a new moto helmet,   They don’t last forever, the materials break down and become brittle like all plastics and fiberglass

LS2 is a newer brand to me, great reviews and don’t have a requirement for silly designs and graphics.  Simple and clean.

Finished welding and painting this today. $5 says no one put their shoes on it like the are supposed to

1 inch and 1-1/2 angle and expanded metal with 3/8 rod reinforcement

Bolts and nuts for adjustable legs

Oh. And got in a hurry and ate up 2 fingers with a flap disk while not wearing gloves

Did you know that the edge of those will eat a big gash in a finger?   Who’d a thunk it?

Little late to the party, but looks like Ken and Shawn got you covered Ryan.

Spent the better part of yesterday summerizing the big boat, brazing some aluminum on the little boat keel and re-sealing the seams. (had a freak late summer wind storm while the little boat was still on the pulley system that beat the heck out of it on an outgoing tide with onshore winds, filled the bow still tethered to the line and the waves ground the keel against some rocks for a couple hours before I got home.) fired up the new outboard in a bucket test, accidentally kicked it into gear and destroyed said bucket with the prop. confirmed 10/10 it works. funny, all the boat trouble I had in the past years I had "help" doing the maintenance. did everything myself last fall and fired up like a gem yesterday. looking to take momma and sophie for a ride this mother's day weekend if the weather holds up. Got our fishing/crabbing licenses all lined up. State is finally opening fishing up on Tuesday. guess where I'll be Tuesday evening...
