I get to spend the day standing in line at veterans benefit administration just to get my VA claim turned in.

Can't you do it online? Vonapp or something? I know that's where I did mine, I don't remember if I had to turn paperwork in or if I did all online, but may be worth a look so you don't have sit there all day.

that was actually a painless process!  I was in and out of there in 20 minutes.  (it may have been because I was standing in line before they opened this morning?)

mike, I don't understand what you are asking?

WYORUNNER, this was my initial turn in of all documents, to include all 1000+ pages of my medical records.  we also have the big VA center right here on post, so everything gets handled in person.

Hope they are not to slow. When I retired the first check took over 60 days and that was submitted at least 30 before I retired.

It was a sideways comment about the historically poor manner the VA services Veterans......as in turning down your retirement after making you stand in line etc.  I certainly hope that everything goes smoothly for you and you're in for a lengthy period of living the good life after protecting our Nation- you deserve it!  ;)

I had a couple issues with retiring in Italy instead of CONUS.  That slowed it down I am sure.
