Tell me about how you took care of the chickens while gone for a week? Automation? Friends helping? Curious.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and prayers.
Other than he is my son, I am happy that there are young men and women out there who still believe in something bigger than themselves and who are, essentially, willing to give up all their free time and devote themselves to the ideal of national defense. Because this nation, despite all the vermin freeloading off the system, is still worth saving.
God bless them all!
Precisely. Well done and congratulations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He is in heaven at the right hand of the Father waiting for the point where he will use His enemies for a footstool.
Christianity is the only religion that believes in the complete depravity of the human, an eternal plan for the unblemished Lamb to be born and crucified for our sins to complete the type that was set forth in the Old Testament when imperfect sacrifices were given.
The death of His earthly temple was a triumph for us as it completed the positional justification of His elect before the Father.
Now we wait….

Boys have been busy.
Dodged the bullet thanks to the Lord for no damage from all the storms. My “experiment” of two 36 inch culverts with 36 tons of rock came to an abrupt end at the ranch after torrential rains washed it all down stream. I have now recovered the culverts from the creek and will be putting them up for sale.
Plan B will be a low water crossing me thinks. I may have to buy a track hoe and use it for a year and sell it.
Standby generator at the ranch has a fault which I think is the control board….
Appointment this week for the Houston house for a 48kw whole house generator. Grid has gotten very unreliable in the last 5 years and time to solve that problem.
Youngest on her way to the Mays School of Business at Texas A&M this fall and oldest is done with sophomore year at Mizzou.
Next two years will be maximum negative cash flow as money goes to two universities.
Bus is limping along and I need to decide to yank motor and get busy or bite the bullet and buy some DEF laden boat anchor dually.
Glad you boys are doing well.

So if we add up the cost for the tac topper, the Dodge, the SRW 3500, the dually, the 5th wheel and the now DRW and slide in Don could have bought that overlander unit…..

That looks really great! So you did the epoxy work yourself?
Reason for asking: I plan to build Kat a new kitchen table about the same way...Epoxy, steel base, and fairly similar size and shape.
I would have been building it already, but I was told I should be building a vanity for a granddaughter...
Yes. Two part deep pour epoxy with mica powder mixed in to make it black. Pour into the cracks after taping the ends and bottom of the cracks. You will find that those cracks can run in some wierd directions and that expoxy will find the way out if you don’t tape it up. Hit the top with a little flame or heat gun to get rid of the bubbles Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

10mm is just a longer 40 cal. Same dies.
Actually the 10mm came first, then the limp wristed FBI folks couldn’t deal with the recoil so they started down loading it and realized they didnt need all the cartridge length….and the 40S&W was born…

Wow great work Sam.
I started in late January and am at the gym 3 days a week on heavy weights. I use My Fitness Pal and track everything, even measuring booze. As long as I get 115 grams of protein I can eat pretty much whatever if I hit my calorie goal.
Im not trying to cut too many calories as I’m building muscle at the moment but down 18, lost 3 inches in the waist and really building muscle. Put up 310 on the bench press this week for the first time in years. Still a long way from my personal best of 380 but that was when I was 42 and I’m now 57.
I’m at 238 and really need to be at 215. Pre covid I was 5 days in the gym and 205 but not hitting muscle as hard. When I get the muscle mass I’m looking for I’ll switch gears to leaning up a bit to land on 215.

Sorry for being MIA for a while Chief. I’ll be at the ranch and look up the recipe and post it with my usual disclaimer.
As for the 41mag, I have a ruger Redhawk single action. I was able to replicate the exact ballistics of that weapon in my G20 10mm by adding a more supported KKM barrel and Wolff 20lb recoil spring. It slings 200gn Hornady XTPs at 1350. Can you imagine that? 14 rounds of that in a semi auto? It’s a beast. And even with the heavy recoil spring it still throws brass 15 feet!

The original round was 2800fps and the subsequent rounds were closer to 2300 when fired from the PS90 FN bullpup.
It was the 2800fps round was the real threat as it was able to penetrate Kevlar.
I don’t think they make the full power rounds any longer and that would be the only reason to have one.
The original SS190 rounds were discontinued and outlawed in 2004. Some are available on the secondary market at $10 a round…

Don, i should probably be fired, but the first thing I did when I got my airbags for the dually was lose all the push connect fittings for proper brass ferrule compression fittings and teflon. I don’t care what DOT says, I won’t run them. Never had a leak.

Do not get the GTR Ultra bulbs. They are stupid bright. However I have them in both the low and high beam on the bus with the all-on mod.
Check out morimoto 3.0. Really good. Just not as bright as the GTR Ultra

Shawn, entirely possible. I’m just making hyperbolic statements as more and more theft rings go pro and use reselling sites.
About to land in HRL. Up close and personal with the border crisis. Thank God it’s just a day trip. Hate not being armed while I’m here. Not even a blade since I didn’t check a bag.

My suggestion for Kat is a small 22 caliber pistol. Her chance of survival is 100%
As the bear approaches, she knee caps you with the 22 and she can easily escape…..

Well thats one more positive for wheelguns. You can get snake/rat shot rounds for it too.
I have a S&W 357 with a 4 inch barrel that I load snake shot and HPs in when I’m out and about in the woods.

I like that, and confess I have never used snake shot before out of a pistol.
Sadly, I looked at the CCI web page and they do not make it in the .44 magnum.
For a slight turn of the subject at hand, I received my first two boxes of .44 magnum (50) last night. One is the Magtech hollow points I picked up for breaking in the gun. Secondly was a box of bear loads which presented with a semi-copper jacket and a somewhat flattened lead nose. Looks to be made to go deeper into the animal in lieu of blossoming right away.
I think you shoot 44spl in the 44. I have them for mine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Well, I’ve weighed in on what I plan to get for my next bear country adventure (500 S&W)
However, if you go with the 629, I have one and have worked up a nice load for it. It’s 240gn at 1450 fps. A bit hot but it will get-r-dun
The G20, I have a 22# wolf spring, a KKM barrel (dont hot load a factory glock barrel, its not supported enough underneath and you can have a bulge or blowout). I have 200gn rounds loaded at 1350 FPS (which is the same ballistics as a .41mag revolver)
I can provide the recipe if you want to give them a whirl.
You know how to tell black bear from grizzly scat? Black bear scat has berries and seeds in it. Grizzly scat has bells and smells like pepper spray….

No need for outside cover as hot and (usually) dry it is. I cut wood 24 inches in length. Those racks are 10 ft long and about 5 ft or so of usable height for stacking. I burn about one rack a year so this years wood will be ready next year and then I can put up more wood for the following year.

Well done, JR. It’s getting the first few courses laid thats the hard part. Should be able to rock and roll from there….
