Time to put a new floor on the trailer... Wonder if the concrete guys will miss some of those Crete treated form boards from their trailer??

This is a Mahindra. The number one selling tractor in the world. This is the 4035 model. Will work all day long next to your larger John Deere, cost me half as much, with customer service that's twice as good. ;) I have had JD's, Kubotas, and MF's, and by far I am more impressed with this guy. The company is based in India but they manufacture and assemble world wide and most importantly here in the USA.

The dealer presence in a particular area seems to have a lot to do with tractor brands.  When I lived in Wisconsin Case IH was the preferred choice.  Here in in Illinois (literally 20 minutes away from John Deere world headquarters) the deere dealers are awesome and it's really the only brand of used tractor available within an hour.  I've got 3 family members that work for deere and I can tell you they pay their employees very well.  Part of their theory is that paying local employees an awesome wage will get the best engineers and designers to design the most reliable equipment.  In the compact tractor market that we are talking about thou, it is very easy for any other company to reverse engineer the designs and end up with basically the same functioning tractor.

That being said, I still could not purchase the deere Gator.  Review flyin6's gator build project for more info on these.  The Polaris ranger was leaps and bounds better when I purchased mine 2 years ago.  Plus it helped that my brother works at a Polaris dealer, so I was able to get an equivalent "family" discount on either that or the gator.

They run about 22 in road gear... And you can clutch and shift on the fly on high side... Convertible, faux leather upholstery... Four wheel drive... DOT lighting... No real reason not to use it for daily driving! I took a girl to prom on my old Massey in HS...

All I can say is Thank God the kids take after your wife.  What a beautiful crew you have there.  May the Lord continue to bless you.
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Great looking crew H.C.

I hear good things about that hindu tractor as well

My J.Deere was built in Macon Ga. The engine is a Yanmar jap engine made over there from rice stalks and I'm sure most of everything else were made my chinamen out of scrap American metal, but at least the green paint was sprayed on in Georgia!

Ya most of the stuff is designed here and is made elsewhere, or at least components of it.  My tractor specifically was made entirely in Japan, I believe basically the same as the Yanmar branded tractors.

Nice Blaine.  Might I suggest that even with a vault door that concealment is a good strategy.  A book case made to look built in, but pivoting on a hidden bearing pin with a magnetic latch would provide a great way to disguise it.
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

So the door going in to the safe room is just a heavy tri-hinged/tri bolted fire/security door. When I refer to the "armory" portion, I would be more correct to call it a magazine or a cache of sorts. This will be where all of the bulk stuff is held. I like the idea of making the entry into that section similar to a vault cage. Like where you would draw your weapon. Simply functionable, but mostly nostalgic. As far as where immediate use weapons and turn out gear go. They are stored in another section of the house. Hidden but more quickly accessible. You will have to stop by and I will show you. This room I'm showing is mostly for bulk catastrophe/fire safe storage and weather emergencies, we are all too familiar with in my area. As far as being hidden, this room particular room is in an unfinished portion adjacent to my dungeon where I plan to pick things up and put them down... I will prolly cover the door with something nonetheless.

Third that motion.  My 16yo son got his license a couple months ago and it is hard to walk around to the other side of the truck.  I am surprised the grab handles are still firmly mounted.  He does a good job but I defiantly feel the NEED to be in control.

The spread is coming along nicely.

Love the house, specially the drive up rear entrance/parking area.

Is that the "room" in the forground or is it buried?

This would make a great avatar;

What a great build! Beautiful spot. Lots of room, no nosy neighbors (or at least if they are they aren't right on top of you!). Very very nice! You are fortunate. And you have a nice looking family I am sure they will love it as well. Best of luck with the build.

Yessir, that's the room! The concrete cap is formed now. Should be poured when we get a break in the rain... It is under the breezeway to the garage. The concrete cap is the thickness of that their floor joist.... Should take a good hammering!

Well it is now that we decided on windows and doors... Not looking forward to the next big joint decision! I'm probably the least picky person in the world, so I'm pretty go with the flow... But I have to be the voice of reason occasionally to keep us on budget... I get the, "this is my dream house. I want what I want" ALOT.... I have to say, "your dream dear, costs 20,000 dollars more than we have afforded this line item"

I may need to tell the framers to raise the roof on the garage for my apartment before its all said and done! LOL

If it is any solace to you my best friend is a crazy high end builder. He deals with changes to projects that would make a tetotaller start drinking. But hus clientele is often known for money that can be weighed by the freight car and brains that wouldn't show up on a gram scale. So he told me about a bathroom he did that by the time they were done putting in radiant heat....tearing it all out to move walls...putting in the special towel heating racks....then moving another wall 6" or so....Yada yada yada...when he was done it was a nice $600K bathroom. Thank God in heaven you're not married to that woman!   I told him for that I want a personal servent to wipe my a**. But his client is happy. We lived in an f'd up world some times.

Good luck with the rest of the build! :) know that it could be worse I guess.
