NP263HD (non diesel) 32 spline. NP263XHD 29 spline (diesel) np261 is just a manual shift version of the 263.

I trust nearly everything out of his mouth Don.

pull the case or look at the old one and see what your spline count is. if it’s 32 (should be since it’s an 80e) then source a 261/3 from a truck and let it ride.

T case is an NP246G for the 4L80 trans

Yeah.

Nice but not quite like around here.
I think I have a tree turning brown down here….does that count?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sure that counts. You probably need to cut more firewood anyway. Been a tough summer for trees up here also. We have 3-4 that turned brown and will need to come down.
Temps are still in the high 70’s and rifle deer season starts in a week. Should be rain, fog and 50’s. Leaves are still hanging on the trees and brush and the game is up all night eating.

come on down to visit me here in southern OR Bob; dusk is like playing dodgeball with the deer in residential neighborhoods, and 2-3 dozen munch on the golfcourse perimeter and most folks landscaping. bag a turkey or two while you're at it. out in ashland where all the houses are literally built into the hillsides, nearly any home with a yard has bucks bedding down in their hydrangeas.

Very scenic! Funny but I don't think of Utah, at least that part of it as having trees. I recall it being more barren and desert-like, but obviously, I am mistaken.

I have a fair amount of stick time, low level between Las Vegas and SLC. Not saying the area was used to rehearse any particular scenario, but I have personally sent a few million $$$$ of jet gas out the tailpipes in that big valley west of the highway...

This reminds me of the f16s ripping through the canyon at eye level giving us hikers a little wing tip flip through the glacier peak wilderness when I was in scouts. we didn't truly appreciate it at the time and it would likely kill me now to get there, but 50 mile backpacking trip through this work of HIS hand was life changing.

I forget sometimes you used to live in WA where the weed is legal... this is either genius inspiration, or college inspiration, lol. either way, it's going to have to happen. I didn't get pictures, but i did use enough filling to make her a full size egg roll rangoon, and maybe myself one too...

I actually never made this one while living up there. this idea came from a local place that made a version of it the was ok at best. wendy challenged me to make it better, and i did ... lol

the other one that i do is a rueben pizza. same crust (its worth the $11 for the premade crust) i spread some spiced up thousand island as the sauce layer, sprinkle generous amount of corned beef (i havent tried homemade smoked corned beef (which is pastrami) yet), cover with some sauerkraut and shredded swiss. i bake to my liking and drizzle a little of the sauce over the top.

I can confirm this is a good idea. at the pub i cooked at way back when we would make these as specials after st patty's day if we had leftovers. if i was feeling fancy i would cook up some rye bread crumbs and sprinkle them on the butter basted crust.

Sophie's birthday was last week, and she requested her favorite junk food, crab rangoon. pretty simple:
8oz cream cheese softened
12 oz K-rab, (the good old fake stuff is classic. you can go all out on real crab, but i think the krab actually tastes better in this)
1/2 cup green onions
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

wonton skins at least 24
1 egg lightly beaten with a small amount of water for egg wash
oil for frying

mix cream cheese, crab, W sauce, green onions, and garlic powder until combined.
lightly brush outer edges of wontons with egg wash
dollop a heaping teaspoon in the center and pinch the sides together to make a star pattern. repeat until you run out of filling, typically get two dozen or so.

deep fry at 350 flipping occasionally until GBD, (golden brown and delicious) and serve hot with sweet and sour sauce or sweet chili sauce

Not sure if I could tap that easy enough during an inspection. Isn't the issue in the rear? Unless there is a port up front.

Wonder if a code reader would tell me? Probably not reading off the ECM.

That's the start of the variable cylinder shut down feature, and clogged up oil screens leading to false pressure readings like what Don's boy went through. 50/50 shot clogged filter or toasted motor. fueling issues on the early ones too in combination with the oil pressure and variable cylinder BS. maybe Ken has some better details, but i would aim for an 06 or 10+ when they started getting out of Obama era bailout construction.

Good morning, and thank you for your prayers and well wishes

Infection is controlled, I've lost 16lbs of inflammation do to that sucker. yesterday went as planned back home and sore. yesterday was the lithotripsy to break up all my kidney stones, so no more of them for hopefully many years. couldn't do it in the ER because the kidney was so infected and inflamed it would have damaged the soft tissue. I was just in the ER to bring my infection under control and get the white blood cell count back down, and was nearly septic, but we're OK now.

next week I get a new CT scan on the abdomen for the diverticulitis and abscess and fistula; these need to all be dealt with surgically so at least two more procedures, but I should be right as rain after the last procedure. luckily it's mostly laparoscopic, unluckily, the part that isn't goes right up the barrel... have I mentioned my distaste for catheters?

Looking forward to putting this behind and getting better. on the positive side, I have dropped 16lbs of inflammation weight, so that's good. (pretty expensive way to do it though).

If you all can see fit to squeeze me in here; just spent last week in the hospital after being admitted to the ER with a bad infection. Those kidney stones I was lamenting about a while back, finally passed 3 weeks ago, but there were 5 of them, really. about 4mm each. what i didn't know is there was a 6th, stuck in the plumbing and become infected after tearing a small hole. flash forward to last Tuesday after a horrendous labor day weekend, (pain, fatigue, all the nasty stuff) my wife got back from her trip and ordered me to the urgent care clinic. I do a good job of brushing off the stuff that hurts, because I've been there before right? wrong. I was nearly septic. couple more days and you might not have heard anything more from old Tater. Still have a couple procedures to clean up pockets of infection now, but I'm at least out of the woods on some HEAVY antibiotics. Just would be nice to heal up soon for Sophie's 12th birthday coming up here on Wednesday. Thanks brothers.

I sent it to a detailer a couple of hours ago. He was convinced that the truck was going to come out amazing looking

We'll see...

I'm 99% certain the clutch is your issue and you have no need to rebuild. we build them very tight for initial break in, and you can overcome this clutch situation with a few alternating figure 8's in 4wd in the parking lot. might even be worth a try before jacking it up.

Agreed, phenomenal drive. Definitely top ten in the US, road was finished in 1932 so I’m assuming ccc built it. But can’t recall atm, took a boat tour on lake McDonald last time we were here and they covered that

This is correct sir. Great Grandpa built the road, Grandpa helped with trails and cabins as part of the ccc.

He just participated in and won the "Norwegian Ruck March Award"

The march began at 0400 this morning in Germany. Nate was amongst those in the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division who made it.

The Norwegian military sponsors it and is both present and certifies a soldier's participation.

What's cool about this is that the Norwegians were Vikings, and Nate has a fascination with the Vikings of old.

Congrats son!

The Norwegian ruck march is a Norwegian armed forces skill badge which is earned when participants complete an 18.6 miles (30km) ruck carrying 25 pounds in their rucksacks. Participants receive a foreign military “Marsjmerket” badge upon completion. The general rule is that Men must complete the Norwegian ruck march in 4 hours and 30 minutes
Congrats to him! They are holding this event on MCBH in December. I’m gonna try to get in, very limited spots here.

sounds like an overly preloaded clutch to me or a dry clutch. may be a simple solution to this but i may be warrantying this out for you too. hold tight, i'll let you know asap. from my lead tech:

If in 2wd the front disconnect is locked, then they need to fix the disconnect motor.
Yes, depressing the plunger by hand / long screw driver is stiff.

As far as the front drive shaft not turning easy in 2wd, yes, they can scrub the clutch pack to break them in faster by doing the figure8’s.   but if the front disconnect actuator is frozen in the locked position, that would be why it bucks.

They intentionally build the t cases w/ a tight clutch. you can do some tight, 4wd figure 8's in a parking lot to speed up clutch wear, but it IS intentional and should not be affecting fuel mileage. if your actuator is stuck and the front end is running all the time that would definitely affect mileage. all 4 wheels in the air, 2wd nothing should move up front. if you spin one tire by hand and the other moves in 2wd, your actuator is engaged.

I guess I can jack it up, put it in neutral and 2H with the key off and manually turn the rear drive shaft...Or should I use engine power?

Why not sit that pig up on 4 Jack stands and thoroughly go over it? Unless you own harbor freight stands……

This. you can check the actuator just by having the front end off the ground with the driveline out of it. if both tires move when one is turned your actuator is engaged even in 2wd.

The unit i sent you had a shift motor on it. could very well be the issue. but i would still like an up in the air w/ all 4 wheels off the ground test. 2wd/4wd check driveline free spin, and verify front wheels spin in opposite direction not same.

Ken, good packaging material is not inexpensive. As a small parts manufacturer (with heavy components to ship) I can’t buy it in low volume for a reasonable price I can pass on. So recycling it makes sense as does keeping it out of the landfill, I’m already throwing a lot of trash out weekly from other packaging. Frankly, you don’t know what you’re talking about with costs in regards to packaging, sorry. You’re not turning “more” liberal on us are you? I mean facts seem to evade most liberals arguments. Just watching out for you here as it’s a slippery slope……..
