Clean and degrease it good first. Then clean it again.

Yes this ^^^^^^  it is all about the prep, especially on older concrete. After doing that, i would acid wash it, rinse with clean water and let dry well for at least 48 hours. The more drying time the better, up to a point for sure, but might want to use a dehumidifier if you got one help hasten the process. keep it as clean as possible before 1st coat. Do extra coats as soon as possible after product has cured. They sell spiked shoes that you strap on your work boots/shoes in order to walk across the epoxy after you have applied it to fix any issues. And there always is something you want to "fix" lol.!

Even today's epoxies like to "yellow out" over time, more noticeable with the lighter colors, so a good top coat will help. I like a polyurea clear coat with UV protection and then broadcast some white Aluminum Oxide grit after laying the clear coat. 60 grit, 80 or 120. This is where the spiked shoe adapter thing a-ma-jig comes in handy again. (so clean it after every use).

Walk in and toss some grit, just don’t over do it, you only get one chance to do this to your satisfaction level.

And yes, Muriatic acid will be fine, just dilute it. Remember Acid to water, never water to acid. And, wear a mask in a VERY well ventilated area. This stuff can be nasty!

^^^ Is that an Ed Zachery quote?  ;D

If the Hillderbeast gets in gun sales will go up more then when Obummer did, and he has sold a Metric crap load of them.

I wish I had time to understand the AR platform better, it's a bit out of my wheelhouse. I stick to bolt action long guns, more of a hunting habit thing i think.

I am getting close to maybe having one or two of this type in the collection soon as well. Sounds like I need to do some fact finding/research as well but I don't feel the need to be an expert on them, just know how to handle and service them properly. You know, just in case...... Like my Cousin.. Justin Case.

Ha!
So a 1000 # + dead weight trailer used to haul 60#'s of useless flimsy steel shelving units with a Honda Pilot?
I can't even begin to imagine the person(s) thinking behind this.

I guess this question is for JR...
How does the 12v controller 'buffer' the voltage output to the pump, with capacitors? What happens when a cloud shades the panel for a few minuets?
I assume there is minimum voltage cut off for the controller to the pump, but would not a set of 12 volt batteries wired in series, as in Sarge, not be the best banking of reserve amp hours at 24 volts?
My thinking says this gets you hours of pumping after the Sun has gone down or reserves during partly sunny days.

I don't know much about these systems, obviously, so curiosity made me ask.

1 Cubic foot of water is closer to 7.48 gallons. So my math, and a few more decimal places, calculates to 2,632.096 gallons.
That's 173.336 gallons Mo H2O !

I like when math errors in my favor(or yours in this case) Anyway, that's a lot of water storage!

I really like this converter program, I have it on all my PC's. It's got a bit more horsepower for those that like this kind of thing. Cool tool.

http://joshmadison.com/convert-for-windows/

Safe download link from the developer, just need to un-zip it. You may need a WIN.rar (windows compressed file viewer) tool to open it, free from MS too.

If youve never used newsprint, give it a try.  Works wonders.  No lint.

This is a great detail trick (or is that a hack nowadays?), I have been using this method for at least 30 years. Best used as a 'final' wipe down/polish for that showroom clean look.

TIP to use: Wad up a full two sheet section of black and white newspaper in to a bit of a ball and use like any other wiper. If it gets to wet it will "pill and shred" but no lint. Just grab another full sheet of the Chicago Tribune and go back to work. NEVER used colored ad paper!

I see them now....

I see dead head gaskets....they don't even know they're dead! (the Sixth Sense)
Get some quoffee...get ahold of yourself...

hmmm. Coffee.

Or more colloquially known, quoffee, is a liquid beverage made by steeping the ground up Quoffee bean in hot water, also known as "brewing".  This is the primary delivery system for the main nutritional element for Real Men, caffeine. Real Men, consume copious amounts, always black.  Black referring to the unadulterated brew, meaning no testosterone sapping cream or sugar.  Be on the lookout for a counterfeit version, known as de-caf, in which a the beans undergo a process of removal of the main ingredient, caffeine.  Known in many circles as "why bother?" de-caf coffee is akin to hiring a neutered bull for stud services on a ranch.

A late 20th century development is an offshoot of the coffee movement in which hoity toity girly men, and women (sorry I repeat myself), create various abominations of coffee based drinks, known as lattes, cappuccino, iced coffee, etc.  This has led to the revocation of Man Cards for millions of Americans, and the wussification of our nation.  The penultimate evolution of this process is the brewing of Kopi Luwak, or jungle cat excrement.  The most expensive quoffee in the world.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopi_Luwak

This is not to be confused with the super-manly consumption of espresso, a highly concentrated form of self caffination, with density of caffeine delivery estimated at 5x the normal brewed quoffee.  Still un reconciled is the manliness of the small demitasse cups in which espresso is brewed.

Now this how to DOT it up. ^^^^^^ !

I gots me one of those CJ-3a's, a '50. Love that little dude.

We had a well used but not rusty 48 MB-2 IIRC, at the 'wyo ranch' too, but the brakes were shot and at that time "it wasn't worth fixing"so it sat in a shed for many years and then it was gone. Oh well, too young to it buy anyway at that time

You fixed what you had to and not much more on our ranch. That's just how it seemed to me growing up there.

My non flatlander years.....

Well, a little more about me….
This most recent truck thing came about when I got my 2012 Duramax Denali new.
I wanted to learn as much as I could about all the new emission garbage that this truck had. That led me to the Dmax forum and then here. I don’t really ever go there now as I have most of my questions answered. So I migrated here and I like the vibes of all you knuckle heads as well as this seems to be way more family orientated, with just plain ole down to earth people.

I’m into rifles and pistols, but nothing tactical. Maybe 20 or so total including vintage war rifles and some shot guns.

I have late 60’s and early 70’s muscle cars. My collection is now down to 4 rare Pontiac’s, 1 Olds and a Kia, er, I mean a Nissan Twin Turbo.

I owned at least 40+ vehicles of all types through out the years. My first and perhaps one of my very favorite was a 1953 Willys CJ-3A. I had it at my folk’s ranch in Wyoming as my summer get around vehicle when I was growing up and that thing would go just about anywhere I pointed it in the foothills of the Big Horn Mountain range. Sure miss that Jeep!

I maintain all the vehicles that I have except for the Dmax, I still take that to the dealer with the warranty concerns and all, but I know how to wrench and have most all the tools I need.

Lastly, you may or may not be interested in what I do for a living. I own a precision flat lapping and fine grinding job shop. It pays the bills. If interested in details my web address is www.lapping.com  (I hope it’s okay to post that link in here).

Sorry for the long winded Bio, but Big D seems a wee bit concerned that I may be trouble here and I wish to quell those fears by ‘putting it out there’ as to who I am and perhaps what my intentions are. I am not a trouble maker. I may instigate a bit though!

Well it looks like y'all is Dottin' my intro post up pretty well, lol. What did I start! ??

Anywho, thanks for the welcome.
I believe I can offer some good advise and engineering opinions/ options here as well as a few engineering and simple part fabrication to those interested.
I am a businesses owner of 23 years with 28 years or so within my industry. I understand manufacturing and have many resources that I may be able to share for the benefit of others here. Let me be clear, I am NOT here to solicit any kind of service for profit.

If I can help someone on a project that I feel I have an experience with, I may or may not (lol), want to offer options and or opinions on how to make it more complicated than necessary and further delay any of that projects completion.  ;D

Oh, and please don't take my sarcasm the wrong way, it's sarcastic.  ;D

Fair warning to all....

Hi all,
got a email response from Cudakid53 just moments after hitting the final join button.
He just happens to be a hoppen' frog's distance from me.
I copied my response below;

Welcome to the site!  We're glad you're here-

Hey Cudakid53,
That was a fast PM! So I have followed Don's posts on Dmax forum and then followed over here days after it was up.
I had to follow the Square D build and of course Combat Max.
Now I feel guilty for not signing up sooner.
I may be able to contribute a little here and there with some different thoughts and suggestions.......

Do I have to take a DOT test? LOL.

So, I'll try to behave on this site and not DOT the place up to much!
