I have been left unsupervised for 12-14 days while Wife, Mother in law and kids go back home to Kentucky.

That’s just pre-wash. Still have to wash-wash them.

Have a coworker with a 04 duramax and he is trying to convince me that his transmission is a flaw to the truck,  I never have heard of problems with the five speeds.   Am I missing something?

Day 4 home alone. Only dirtied 3 cups and 3 forks and 2 fry pans. Suppers have consisted of fried or scrambled eggs. Lunch has been  gas station sandwiches. Not much for breakfast. I'm starting to get hungry. Lucky for me I have to work the Scout concession stand for the ball game tonight so I get cheeseburgers for supper tonight. If I can make it through tomorrow without cooking anything big I'm hitting Buffalo wild wigs or Hu-Hot Saturday. Maybe I will hit both of them.

I'm working 12-14 hours a day so I am not home much to make a mess. Leave at 4 am get home by 4-6 do post trip on the truck get fuel eat and go to bed.

They were a weak link if you tuned the truck more than a mile tune. Bone stock they were fine

Found a receipt from 2008. 19.99 for a box of 40 cal Hornady 180JHP. Miss those days.

Picked this up today. Olight Baldr mini. 600 lumen and green laser. Tiny and magnetically recharging

Got the 5 ton installed last Saturday.
Getting ready to install the 4 ton this Saturday.
Trying to prep everything after work but even at 20:00 it's still 106 and 30-50%.
I know... it's not as humid as everywhere else but this boy can barely handle it. (But, I'm excited about receiving future sub-$700 electric bills in the summer)

Ken. Interesting regional difference.  Why are they on the roof in direct sun?  In texas they are on the ground usually on the east side of the house out of the afternoon sun.

I've asked a couple local guys that question. (I'm thinking automotive condensers being affected by environment) They told me there's zero difference in performance. They're designed for direct sunlight. Dunno

I will say that since there's less ducting, maybe less heat being absorbed and that evens things out??

Ken is the ducting in the attic or under the slab? Around here they are running most everything in the attic which was a big change about 20 years ago everything was in/under the slab.

I agree with him. Stock 5-speed Allys could only handle stock torque. With any tweaks of the engine at all and the trans would soon (very soon) fail.
The 6 speed corrected some of this, then the 6-speed that came in the LML got a bunch of improvement. Tuners say a stock LML Allison can handle up to 800 HP for awhile.

Witness mine: LML Allison which is almost stock. Just has a deep pan and is tuned for more apply pressure. My motor makes 1200+ ft lbs and my truck has been like that for 10 years now and 125K.

5 speeds with a tune would grenade.

Yes, one unit. All electric heat pump, etc. Most houses here are that way because of the mild winters I would assume. We did do handlers on my brothers new house because he's running propane.

What sucks is the flex ducting in the attic. Not sure how good the insulation (on the ducting) works when it's 140+ up there but I can tell you how hot the air is for the first few minutes of running. I put attic fans in 2 years ago and didn't make a difference. They run day and most of the night during summer months, set at 105 turn-on temperature.

I saw an article by a builder once that builds in hot areas.  He builds a roof, covers in plywood and then sets purlins or spacers ( about 1-1/2 inches)that run vertically from the eave to the peak and then sheaths again with plywood and then the roofing material (he used metal).  Left open at the eave and peak (into a vent system) it creates cooling flow from the eave to the peak between the two roofs and keeps the attic very cool.  Kind of like parking your car in the shade.

Our central air sits at the side of the house , down there, but the furnace and cooling lines are in the attic.  The water lines are up there too and people in Bullhead City turn the hot water tanks off during the summer. Drawing air through the attic is a good idea but summer temps are near 100 all night so kind of a waste of energy.

I don't know where this came from or what it was used for but it is nasty cable covered in grease. 600 miles a day from one scrap yard to another. Easy money but the hours are starting to wear on me. I will get a break in 2 weeks when I spend a week at scout camp. I can relax there right?

This one will EDC

Should start with 1… get those terrible ones out of the way before moving onto the classics.

Star Wars, Marvel, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings are regular staples in our house. In fact, every year on or around 7/31 the wife and kids start a Harry Potter marathon because our oldest and Harry share a birthday - 7/31.

And we do Star Wars around May 4th… because May the fourth be with you ;)

This one took under 2 hours.

Last one took all day. 3 hours to install and the rest of the day trying to get it to work. #1 issue was the old, expensive thermostats wouldn't work with the 2 stage compressors, which is what the new units came with. So now I have Nests, which led to problem#2.

#2 issue is with Goodman. The yellow thermostat wire is supposed to be stage 1 and from hours of Google time, every other brand uses yellow for stage 1, (or old units with only 1 stage including my old Goodmans). Stage 2 can be any color, and in Goodman's case the other color is purple.... but alas.... they swap those 2 colors on the newer units for some reason.  Purple=stage 1 and yellow=stage 2.

Just thought I'd explain that in case someone else runs into that issue.
When those wires are swapped it will only run on stage 2.
