Title: Zip line 1000 ft high
Post by: TexasRedNeck on July 30, 2015, 08:10:15 PM
Today was a great day. We went to Royal Gorge park and did the tourist stuff. Walked the bridge, rode the gondola and then took the zip line from the south to the north side over the gorge. I videod it and as soon as the phone recharges I'll get it up to you tube and link it here.

My daughters were bummed they didn't meet the 100lb minimum so I promised to bring them back in a year to do it with them.

Mommy was MIA. No likey heights.

Nothing like a good adrenaline rush to remind you to live.

That's awesome! Last time I was there the deer were almost tame looking for handouts. I don't think there was a zip line then. That's so cool! It would scare the crap out of me but I would HAVE to do it. Face your fears and all. Good for you!

There's a zipline in Lexington that's 500' underground in some old mines or something. On my road trip back from the wedding in June, I wanted to go check it out, but getting the road trip over with won out in the end.

My sister was just at Royal Gorge last week.  She sent me a pic they have of the ripcord that flies you out over the edge. Didn't mention the zip line though.  I was there when I was really young.  Beautiful area.

You could have been one of Bobbee's bros, hanging out (literally) in the back of airplanes then jumping out, just to prove that most of the time parachutes actually work...Well right up to the point you land in a 80' tree, or when you hit the DZ and get carried off like a plastic bag on the highway...

Pop the release and no plastic bag effect... If you're quick.

My mama wasn't keen on them either. Talked her into in in Mexico one winter. Now she's hooked.
She's not scared of heights per say, but not fond of them for sure.
Now the 1000', might be MIA too.
Glad to hear you're enjoying you time.

My uncle was 82nd AA then 88th. He was absolutely nuts. Dad was 1st CAV. Jumping out of a perfectly good plane is on my list. Want to make sure college is fully funded. Oh wait, I have enough life insurance to cover that.....

And Don, we are camped about 5 miles from the army base. Lots o helo maneuvers in day and night hours here.

I'll bet!

Nice drive up to cripple creek. Good climbing in Rocky mountain Nat'l park, and if you can get a chance "El-Magre' is the highest peak south of Pikes Peak and a great dirt bike ride up

When I would be up there teaching mountain flying, the biker guys would be buzzing around on some of the lower meadows. Sometimes I'd come in and land near them to give them a thrill
