Cummins is getting smart
« on: November 02, 2016, 02:51:30 PM »
http://www.trucktrend.com/events/sema-auto-show/1610-cummins-reveals-repower-diesel-crate-engine-program-at-sema-2016/

At long last they are selling a crate motor for repowers, I would assume that if this sells well the 6cylinder and V8 will follow.  I see they didn't mention cost, if I had to guess I would say around 5-7K depending on what bells and whistles you want.

Bring back the 12V!

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

is there someone else doing a cummins swap in a jeep, or am i the 'Shawn'? hahah.

i follow a guy on IG who has a 4bt TJ on one tons that i THINK helped the fabricator with R&D on engine mounts and such for that 2.8..

if and when i ever get a TJ/LJ platform, that just bumped its way to the top of the list.

the guy i sold the 4bt to already has it in his full size bronco and getting >2x fuel mileage with it.. andblooking/sounding orettt dag on cool as well.

I was actually approached about a start up doing these swaps in jk's & the newer fj's last week. If a couple things fall in place it may be a go for me for next year. At this point there is still much to be discussed but I'm meeting with the other half next week on this project.

Now this is an interesting turn of events!
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Yeah, tell me about it. However, couple things have to play out like I think they will. Part of it is me leaving hippy land and then just the normal work out the details of a new business with a partner. My potential partner is pushing hard......

Kind of sounds like a win, win sort of situation.
Not that moving is ever fun...
