Nice going.

I was thinking about the Armasight Co-mini and the PVS 14, and narrowed it to the PVS 14 for its wide use and options. Plus it is 4 oz lighter. Would like white phosphor but out of the budget.

I would still add a drain while its dug out. Why not keep it dry and if you expand you are covered.

I will take a car door to nothing. Remember too that angles play into that alot.

Most bullets will NOT just go threw a windshield or blow out a tire like in the movies.

It is hard to explain, but here's a little more. Entering a room or coming around a corner, step back about 2 steps and slowly move sideways so you can see what is there. You will see a shoulder, arm or something BEFORE the other person has a shot. You can decide weather to engage or not, but you know where they are.
Second, by stepping back a few feet, your barrel or you are not within easy reach of who might be there and they don't see it either.

Concealment. Be lucky to deflect a 22 with a door. Newer are better with the side impact doors.

With a car, get behind the block, it also hides your feet.

Also, never hug a wall or fence. Bullets tend to stay within 12in of the wall when they deflect.

Now, have you heard "slicing the pie"?

D.O.T. / Re: WDYDT (What Did You Do Today)

What is the difference between cover and concealment?

Simple;

Cover is when you get behind something to stop bullets

Concealment is getting behind something so they don't see you, but bullets can.

9762
Yep, blame the camera,,,,,,,,,,,,

See those little dashes under the numbers? When you use power they scroll to the right, when you make power on the grid, they move left.

Sounds lie you need to bait the coyotes and get that M1 out.

Tac wall is a go.

But they are right, all concrete cracks. Cracks WILL leak. If water is an issue in anyway, outer drain barrier with weepage base.

The guy who trimmed my tree out front had that little Stihl. Really nice with just a single grip on top. Just pulled it up down on a rope.

Mine started first pull every time cept when I ran out of fuel. Very little vibration and always idled easy.

When needed, a BIG brother will follow.

Mine is 9lb with a 16in roller bar with 2hp.

50, I only wish!!

Well, mine works great, already burned threw a tank with a big ole that has been waiting for months. To bad its at ground level, my back is not happy.

My brother in law asked about Trump last night at TG. My wife was screaming about how bad he was for at least 10 minutes. We talked facts, she yelled racisum, womanizer and unqualified. She even thinks today there might be a recall listening to her liberal channels.

Well, just came home with the Stihl 180. Will do anything I need around here and then some. Case was 1/2 price, spare chain and plug. OTD for $270 fueled up test run.

Old guy who runs the store said he has a 20 year old one that still runs great. Still a lot of plastic but I like the controls (just 1 lever) and side chain adjuster.

Well, I running down to the local dealer stihl now. Thought about fixing the poulan again, but I just don't trust it.

I need something for utility work and will run when I grab it. I have always used stabilizer for my 2 stroke stuff.

Not looking to drop a 30 inch tree but sure I could if need be. 16inch would probably do me good and be easier to handle for what I have here. I can always get bigger later if the need arises.

Glad I found this. I have a Craftsman (Poulan) and been thinking about trading up. Ran great at first, now all I do is pull and pull and when it starts, it way stay running. (did the fuel lines/filter)

When I got it thought it was a Husky, now I too have been looking at Stihl and there is a dealer just 2 blocks away.. Don't think I need bigger as you guys but 18-20 up from my 14 sounds great.

I have upped my budget a little, but still looking at other options.

Looking at the Armasight co-mini that is very similar to the pvs-14.

Then there is the PVS-17a and the Nait VS-20.

Are you guys familiar with these at all. I have been doing lots of reading, learning alot.

Don, you just need a good night sight. Heck with all the info provided and you not being restricted for use you have many options!

Darn that looks good. Tums a rumbling.

Speaking of snow, took the kids up to the snow today. We ended up in Sugar Bowl (Donner Peak) and they had fun.

Even with 35s on the dmax I was dragging the diff in the snow pack. Cooper STTs worked great.

29 in an hour, better than shooting squirls! What a blast.

Badger and a dog, feel sorry for the dog.

Think you would be OK using the m4 though with NV, reason to buy that digital scope.

Because it is digital Don. Digital cameras work really well in UV light so the migration NV Scope has been going on for sometime now.

The Core above does not have auto shutoff for light as most NV does. I still think I may have to build one. Its like building one piston for an engine. Good parts, good NV.

Now onto FLIR, this is cool for about 1/10th the price of stand alone. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EXAQLVY?psc=1  Could be very handy around the farm.

So I see my price of 1k is not going to get what I want. Even bumping it up to around 1500 does little, unless I build my own.

So I am at the road of getting the spark. Looks like a good unit. Doesn't have the accs like the 14 does, but it is just $500.

I can build my own, almost looks too easy. Kit minus tube is $700, tube can be well up to 1k or more. But options and upgrades are almost unlimited. I could even get a cheap tube and keep it under 1k.

Done that a few times. Have a buddy in Tehachapi and I used to work for a company based there.

PM your address to me just in case.

9791
So you did. Had to go back and look, can just see that under the slide out.

9792
Using NV would be a natural there, plus would be good for other things.

Good thought on adding more jacks, but I would use the solid screw stands and maybe even get those tires off the ground if that is a permanent location.

It shows a little less resolution than the spark (60-71 vs 45-51). But it is smaller and has a better 40* fov vs 30* for the spark.

Big thing should be the distortion in the tube. Spark shows obvious edge distortion.
