Thx guys, I really loved the Boy Scouts. Believe me I voiced my opinion openly to console members and leaders (I was tactful when needed) and thought about this for some time. Breaks my heart what they are doing to it. Got tired of the bull as others stated. Heck I had to do "special" Kali only training and get fingerprinted.

Just took the home vacuum apart to clean agian. Wife unit does not understand its not a shop vac and you need to pick up larger items. Plus she lets a flippen rabbit run loose in the house, leaves little prizes all over the place and they put food right on the carpet for it!

3 more years until my youngest gets out of school!

You have to do what you think is right JR. I don't much care for the diversity merit badge either.

We don't have a girl's troop but a nearby town does. My niece joined. The Girl Scouts are broken but like the Boy Scouts its led by volunteers. Your troop is only as good as its leader. My Niece quit that and joined "BSA" after the Girl Scout leader took them on a hike. Around the inside of her house. No joke. They went on a hike inside the house.

Now I don't like girls in BSA. But this is where I am conflicted inside. If A child wants to learn something I am not going to turn them away. I don't care if it's a boy or a girl or confused. Just how big of a jerk would you be to tell this child you can't teach them how to fish or start a fire. You are a girl you have to go learn that over there. Nope I'm not going to exclude anyone.

As a leader I try to teach them my values. Even in this small town there are kids in my troop that lived a very sheltered life. Some from broken homes, some are an only child that doesn't like to share.  I pound in their heads that when we are together, we are a family. This is your scouting family, and these are all your brothers like it or not and we are all going to get along. I teach them and guide them through their teenage years like I would my own kids. Being a scoutmaster is a hard job, but I feel like I have a good support system with the committee I put together.

I am fortunate most of the families in the troop are all pretty conservative and agree with how I am running things. One family is pretty liberal and that causes some problems. I had to make a rule of no politics discussion unless the material we are working on requires it.

Since this was taken they poured the floor on the new building. They are going to work on the approach next. The building won't actually be delivered until the middle of December.

Dang your out there in snow and tornado country and my footings are double what you have. Damn libs what everything so overbuilt its crazy!

Jon, I agree with you. If boys tried to join girl scouts there would be an uproar. Kinda like happen when Mary's was going to allow boys in the school. Seems "diversity" works only one way, unless your a male wanting to swim with girls. When my boys complained about the last overnight with all the girls there, I knew the writing was on the wall. Then the instance in a summer camp a couple years back and I was a leader there. Camp shirts are pastels now and have flowers on em. Its "BOY SCOUTS" and about building men from boys. Remember, this in Kali out here, things get wierd.

Our leadership is great, still is, but their hands are tied too. We had one of the highest percentage of Eagle Scouts around and I enjoyed my part.

Ok, I'll step down now and we'll talk about Don's back :beercheers:

Ah, come on man!

OK, so you preempted me, here's what is going on.

A part of the Burb engine conversion project is to first see if there is a clear path to just walk away from it. If I don't do this, then it could cause problems with Kat. That and I'll give myself a chance to part with it without getting hurt. Should that opportunity pop up, then it is something I will consider.

If I get an offer on it soon (I won't) then I'll likely take that off-ramp. If not then I sort of being stuck with it and it makes the Cummins engine conversion more attractive, almost necessary in view of rising gasoline prices.

Well you guys may know my 1/2 ton Denali was stolen a month ago

After debating myself for a month I bit the bullet tonight and signed a deal on this.  I went back and forth with 1/2 ton trucks, 3/4 ton trucks and even duallies, Cadillacs and everything in between

Ended up with the2023 Denali XL Ultimate. Fly to Dallas to pick it up Monday.

Figured I still have the Bus so might as well go full sissy. I never put anything dirty in the bed of the 1/2 ton anyway.

Very nice ride^^^

Until now I've never seen aftermarket headlights work as good as factory, as far as light patterns go. I installed these without any adjustments.

I'm very happy with the results, and looking forward to using them next week on a quick trip to Idaho.

Looks good Ken. I just replaced the HIDs in the Bus with GTR Ultra 2 LEDs and they are crazy bright. A bit expensive but very very bright.

Thanks Bob. With one in college and another headed out in 18 months I foresee a number of road trips in my future and this thing has air ride, magnetic ride and the longer wheelbase. It’s a cloud.

Very nice Charles, fly to pickup even, must be nice! I noticed they changed the rear window so they roll all the way down.

Ken, I have been very happy with most of my led/light purchases. In fact I just ordered dorman replacements for my daughters camry and I have leds for it already (my old ones are correct-win)

Then I just ordered a set of new housings for my Tahoe. Already LEDs for it and wow, old housings are crusty inside.

Ken, can I see a pic of them installed in the truck?
The reason is, I can hear a fan in a LED bulb starting to sing. That and the bulbs do not fit snugly into the headlamp assemblies. I may want to upgrade/renew.

Don, I found the SNGL leds to be very good based on reviews. Didn't get those this time but have the higher end version in the DMax and saved the cheaper ones.

I don't get how the fit on the bulbs is an issue, but have found that too. I had to pry the wrong bulbs out of the tahoe, LEDs went in fine.

I had to center punch the steel rings on the high beam retainers to make them as tight as I desired. I also zip tied the high and low beam wires together to prevent future rotation.

I think I could easily see purchasing the new bulbs but the headlight housings themselves still look great. I think I'll try your idea and just tighten up things some

I sent an early set of housings back, could not adjust lights installed! Think I have the TYC in there now.

So did a thing today in preparation for the shop move to MT next year. Ordered this trailer in 28’ and upgraded to dual jacks and spare tire. They are currently 8 weeks out but thought I should have it by years end. Pickup is in NE at their factory. Seamless order, I filled out website info at around 4am and Rachael calls me up at around 1pm. We go over logistics and she asked a set of well versed questions. We came to an agreement and she takes a 10% deposit on the same call. Then immediately emails over docs to sign and questions about truck to fill out. Doesn’t get much simpler than that…..

On a similar note, the slightly used 7.5 x 14’ enclosed dual axle trailer will be up for sale come Dec and depending on deal I may be able to deliver between NW MT and Colorado.

Curious, with factory pickup about how much?

I did that with an enclosed trailer I got for RC stuff. PU in Vegas so just the trailer was ca taxed and all the "add ons" were on another sheet saving me $$$.

Nice thing about Kaufman all the pricing is right on the website so it’s no bs, is what it is. My address is now MT so zero sales taxes.

That’s a clean rig! What engine does it have in it? We considered getting one with the 6cyl duramax, but of course went a completely different route and will leave all towing and hauling to the old truck!

It’s unreal.  My wife has the Mark Levinson system and this one puts it to shame.  19 speakers and signal processing options that are incredible.

I can’t get close to turning it all the way up.

Yeah no kidding. The lady at the dealer showed me security footage of someone stealing one with a radio scanner and and bootleg key. What I suspected happened to mine.

This time I’m going old school. Going to find the ECM fuse and interrupt it with a hidden switch. Then they can have the key the code or whatever and can’t take it unless they drag it on a rollback

Pretty sweet ride, now no slumming it at airport parking……
Yeah no kidding. The lady at the dealer showed me security footage of someone stealing one with a radio scanner and and bootleg key. What I suspected happened to mine.

This time I’m going old school. Going to find the ECM fuse and interrupt it with a hidden switch. Then they can have the key the code or whatever and can’t take it unless they drag it on a rollback

will that cause you to have to reprogram all of your stuff when you apply power again?

Color scheme is very close to what I chose for my Duramax.

Exceptional vehicle

A thing like that is something that one could use for 5 or so years and has caused very little wear and tear. I suspect resale will be fairly high.

I don’t think so. Only the engine module would be disconnected

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Perhaps. But I generally don’t intend to sell anything for at least 10 years.

I feel for people who have paid 10-15k OVER msrp for these vehicles. That money will never be recouped.

Sad that I considered it a victory to “only” pay msrp.

Finished harvest. I have all the numbers but haven't added them up yet. Just by looking at the bins soy bean production is down by 50% from last year and corn is less than that.
We're going to be looking for some trucking jobs this winter for sure. We can't make up the difference but it will help.
The new building is coming along really well. As our projects usually go it turned into a bigger deal than we thought. The way the approach measures out we are going to end up paving the whole driveway. It will be really nice when it's done but that's a lot of concrete we didn't plan on.

Tex, hide the vin when you park it (or all the time) and pull or switch the relay for the starter.

Made it back to mt cabin this evening. Crazy how a week can change the colors. Love this last couple hours of drive to the cabin.

On a similar note, I understand Ken is on his way up today to his place an hour sw of me. Pray he gets here safe (weather fronts moving in, snow and ice) and that he doesn’t get lost in the woods……
