Yep, I would say the same Ken. Think it would drive me nuts.

Wish my mileage was a little better, so far around 15 with lots around town driving. Like to see 20 on trips, but the mountains kill it.

Welp.
Doc was happy with how things looked this morning.
Lost the IV from yesterday. New one in now…
A bit of a pin cushion the past few days.

I still look like I just did 10 rounds with someone.
But do feel “better” and think we’ve got this now.

Not out of the woods by any means yet and I’m fully aware. I’m so not used to having to look after me.
Two sick days in a row, other than when I had surgery don’t think I’ve ever used two in a row.

I’m not walking the lake this weekend as I’d planned but that’s me putting me first. The guy I started las week with is going and that will be my news.
Whatever the fluid in my cheeks and eyelids is I can’t afford to freeze. House bound I am till I’m over this.

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers.

Took the scouts on a campout this weekend. It only got down to 20 degrees but the wind kicked our butts. It was very difficult to cook breakfast with everything blowing away. We stayed Friday night did a service project for the state park Saturday afternoon and called it a day.  We cut cedar trees off the hillside. They are considered invasive here.

I did some maintenance on the suburban this week. This is a poor attempt at a cold air intake. I want to get rid of the spectre air filter and get a dry filter but everything I can find online is oiled.

It's a part of my new Jeep. I thought I would hate it, but if the truth be known, it isn't bothering me at all.

Here's the cool part I learned when researching the feature.

Engineers have long known that engine wear, occurs primarily at startup. Steady-state invokes zero wear except for cycling of valve springs, and wear on some seals. So, to create a scenario where the motor will be starting/stopping hundreds to thousands of more times than was normal years ago, they actually increased the durability of the motor. Chrysler is forthcoming on their engine, summarizing the redo as a "High-durability engine." So with that little feature came a redesign and rethink of the motors to still give very long service while having to absorb the effect of thousands of additional cycles. (A cycle is one start and one shutdown).
That has to be the biggest load of horse crap I've ever read.

Insult aimed at author, not Don.

I'm not a jeep guy, so I wouldn't know beyond what I read.
Hype hugh??
I don't know, but I was thinking the bearings may have been upgraded along with the oil pump, and possibly the spec on the oil requirement...Anybody?
I did read where the starter was upgraded but cannot verify.
I have been letting it do its start/stop thing, but I now think it bears more investigation.
If it's all hype, I think Jeep ought to be brought to account. No good lying and especially to prop up this green agenda bull...

Jon, I think you can use the stock airbox and just get the tube for it. Junks all the baffles and unless you pumping major HP the stock filter is not that bad. Kinda wish I had gone that way vs the $300 system on mine.

Even a HD starter only runs so many times (knock on wood). Running around, stopping, leaving the headlights on and doing things I would want mine to just run. Kinda like the DOD on many cars, does it help that much or just a gimmick?

Guests coming tomorrow for a little R&R. Hope to do a little pistol work. May put up some paper Siloutette targets to supplement the the steel.

Also started setting up the press to load some Lehigh defense subsonic expanding rounds for the 300blk.

I think the simple fix is just go to you pull it and make it factory again.

I was looking for some boots for the winter. Love my Tecovas as much as I do, they have a smooth sole and no-bueno on ice/snow.
I'm digging these, do you wear them? Usage report possibly?

So diagnosis was bacterial cellulitis.
Comes with those similar words “potentially life threatening” that MRSA comes with.
So some seriously serious stuff.

And no beuno on having drinks.
All of the meds no beuno with booze.

Best guess to cause came from our morning meeting at work. One of the guys said maybe from the boat…may be on to something.

Other than I’m still ugly as…doing way better.
Off of the IV as of today and added more pills.
Five more days till they’re done and then I “should” be out of the woods.

I have had these for a little over 1.5 years, and they are still very comfortable to wear for long periods of time.  From March to late November they do not see usage except when i have to get presentable for a formal event and then they will get a coat of polish.

They do have them in steel toe, and i think composite toe as well. Keep in mind that these have a zipper on the back of the boot.

Dang Jon. Glad everyone is ok.

The Sam update. I think I’ve got this licked.
Few more days of meds before I’m confident…

Can’t fix the ugly part. Lol. But other than the scabs on my forehead and the two now quite little water sacs things are back on track.
Feel like I got ran over by a truck yet but back to just ugly now.
Looking forword to getting outside this weekend and hauling fuel and propane and opening the casa back up. Ice is good-ish based on a couple guys that I’ve talked to. They normally ask me…lol.
I’ll do a full send with the sled, pick up my sleigh from the cabin, full send back. Check for water and slush then maybe drill a couple holes. If I’ve got 6” of ice I’m all good and will mark out the trail and start the year.

Looks way better Sam. Think the higher camera angle helps too.

OK looking at those boots, aren't they ruffouts, polish or did I miss something. $200 for those does not seem bad. I am super hard to fit nowadays being old, overweight, super wide feet and, well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I’ll just haul my fuel now and mark the trail.

Few more days of antibiotics and then I’ll call me better.

We had Thanksgiving dinner in Savannah at Paula Dean's restaurant. The staff says she shows up every once in a while, but her son is there a lot.
This was the only way we could all be together, as the grunt only has enough leave accrued to come home for Christmas. We had a nice meal then chased that with family time and rounded the evening at the theater and watched that new movie documenting the actions of a black Naval pilot and his friend in Korea. That movie had some great shots of F4U Corsairs. Hopefully, we continue with a couple more good days...But...The weather is not cooperating.

Saw the previews, looks like a good movie.

We ate at home, was a fiasco. BIL who lives about a mile away now, has a bunch of degrees, 42 years old and knows eveything!!! (joke) Likes to push buttons but is very "right" which is odd. I had to tone him down some and reminded him its my house and he would not be the first I have kicked out. (MIL, now passed)

Kept boiling and wife unit went off the deep end. Not a clue, screaming about anything or anyone right and I mean standing over the table leaned over sreaming. Our other guest was dumbfounded (wifes friend from work who is way out there)

Food was OK, all store bought ready to go stuff, I ended up going to a local Indian Casino for a few hours and relaxed. Even came home with a little extra.

With that in mind Langmuir was having a sale. Bit the bullet and ordered a 4x3 Pro unit with free THC and limit switches, added the laptop stand too. 2 weeks delivery stated now.

Happened across a miss marked stack of tools at HD today. $119 for this

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-Mechanics-Tool-Set-290-Piece-H290MTS/312945780

Considering it’s a pretty decent all in one set for the Rv I thought worth sharing.  The manager didn’t argue to much when I showed him the stack of boxes with the sticker @119.  Gave it to me and removed the tags off the others.

Had a cool day. Hung out with Matt Atkins on his 84-acre farm. Really nice place. I think My Kat was scheming on how to get one of his pigmy goats into the Caddy. I was on guard, and we managed to leave without any additional livestock! I'm in the hotel for the evening...She found an outlet mall (OUCH!)

Goat would have been cheaper, but not for the ride home

Got out to the cabin today.
Didn’t check ice, buddy said there 10”.
Was planning to haul fuel and propane.

Mother Nature had bigger plans. Over a foot deep and twenty odd feet across maybe a tad more.

Found another hole in my boots when checking how deep. Will need to shoe goo it.

Broke my favourite snow shovel.
And had to Jack the big deck off the sleigh hitch…

Was an adventure I suppose.
See what the weather brings tomorrow for hauling.

And I feel like a million bucks again.

Got back from elk hunting, or elk viewing more like.
Thought I was in Sam's back yard for a minute. 13-25f. Constantly blowing 15 with gusts up to 40. Not fun for this desert rat.

Back at the boat today.

But before that spent too much $$
BOAT - break out another thou…

Garmin 95sv on a cyber deal
New hydraulic helm to replace worrn out cable job
Shares in stainless hardware.

Oh well. Buy once cry once…

Had a helper tonight and got the console tore out. Last of the flooring lifter and some foam stripped.
I can say I hate foam already…and still at the clean stage…

Found some areas of intrest but no smoking gun yet.
Tomorrow has cam Mexican credit card and gas tank will come out. Last of foam and if time is on our side down to the powerhouse for internal flooding and wash.
Interesting how these are out together…quite a pain to work on.

1200. We narrowed it to 560 when he decided to bed down for most of the day.
Buddy went in and spooked him at 50 yards (was pretty thick cedars)

If it wasn't for the wind I may have taken a shot at 560 depending on the round. I sure like 7mm Mag.

Scored this at ACE yesterday for $99. https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/Power-Tools/Combo-Kits/2-Piece-Kits/2497-22 Still less than most ebay/amazon deals and helping the local business out. I have a few M12 tools already (ratchets-light-grinders-grease) and my old craftsman are getting long in the tooth. I thought it was just the tools at first but surprised to find a bag, 2 batteries and charger in there.

Finally fixed this last night. Just this section rotted out when the solar leaked salt water into it.

Just in time, raining now.
