Just trying to figure out why a one man shop would have 2 blast cabinets. That's all.

It’s one cabinet, door at each end. I bought it with intention of blasting housings once I get shop air finished and do some tlc to this cabinet. Has 4 guns inside two that hang vertically from top middle of each side. And then two guns one either side. I think for manufacturing purposes they just bolted the two cabinets together.

I would not have bought two of those, was planning on building one before this popped up.

Thanks Nate, between your cooking and bourbon we would definitely be able to work a deal.  :beercheers:

Now just get the significant other to get a contract out here.....

Seems like you are always waiting on electricians.  Is that required by the facilities or do you need some edumacation on electrical stuff...

Charles, up until a few months ago I have always completed it myself and with good success, never an issue. However, I have a good friend who is an electrician (neighbor) and neither of us like to charge the other. So we swap labor and I believe I’m owed quite a bit atm so trying to bring that surplus back a little more even.

On a side note he’s fun to harass especially when as last night he opens a box to find two blacks and a white in the box. I keep telling him electricity doesn’t care what color the wire is.....

And I might add he is super particular about his work, so these little things drive him nuts.

Makes sense. Was that 3 phase in the box?

Someone was too cheap or lazy to go buy a roll of red wire when they ran out. At least wrap some red tape around it!

That was me and it was marked, otherwise I couldn’t have hooked it up in first place correctly. I'm not an electrician (those guys have meters for a reason) so having extra around isn’t a priority. Wasn’t going to buy a roll of red for that last short run.

I agree Shawn, but probably should have used some red tape on it any way. Well now I am not even sure about that,  two blacks and a white might of met code too

It’s ok, there are two runs in shop where colors aren’t exactly ideal and he’s found both. Like a darned blood hound. I get plenty of grief from him on using prebent 90 conduits, again not an electrician and only own one size conduit bender.

Single phase 240 two blacks is fine. It makes no difference. They’re the same voltage but just out of phase by 180 degrees. You can even run a black for neutral but you have to put a wrap of white electrical tape on it at the connection. 3 phase is a different story because you need The phases to  match up with the winding on the motor so it’s not working against it’self.

Waiting for raptor liner to show up (which did today btw for the fummins) I decided to clean up shop and organize a bit. Which included building some shelving and adding some paint in a few places to give the shop some color over these next few cold months.

Safety Orange!

Helicopter doors were painted that color at the Army Aviation Center, Fort Rucker, Alabama.  if you saw an Army aircraft with orange doors in AL, FL or GA, you knew students were flying it!

As of yesterday I sold the old shop. I had the floor epoxied and in all after expenses made some money and sent it down the road. New owners are using it mostly for storage.
