I feel good about side-swiping the Prius. What is one of those things doing in Idaho anyway? Either on a car hauler headed for Washington or stolen.

Actually Saturday, my son and I got this up with the wife's help.  The wife and I finished it on Sunday.  10x14.  It has room for the smoker, grill and griddle as well as the table and 4 chairs.

IS that one of the sams club deals. How sturdy is it? I've been eyeballing them for a while.

I’m back.  To make people hungry

Father’s Day lunch today with my dad and family. Went on at 16:30 off at 06:30. At 235 I thought it might take a bit longer was targeting 16 hours but it will keep in a warmed cooler. It has to rest a minimum of 4 hours so I’m only 90 minutes ahead of schedule.

17.5 Lb prime brisket. And the pan is rendered fat trimming that I’ll store and use for cooking.

Was talking to the oldest grandson about firearm purchases. The subject of the good old day came up of when just about any hardware store would have a barrel of surplus rifles and they were dirt cheap. He didn't believe me and got his cell phone out and did some searching. He looked at me and said grandpa at those prices why did you buy them all? I love that kid!

Daughter passed out yesterday, hadn't eaten for hours. BS was 69, a tad low. Guess she can't go that long without grub.

Worked today, she seems OK.

I worked at a coast to coast in high school in Indiana, assembled bicycles and worked the gun counter selling pistols, rifles, shotgun and ammunition from time I was 16-18. I don’t think sub 18 is allowed to do that now anywhere. I loved looking thru the firearms catalog they had.

Got home at 3am & parked on street as my driveway is difficult atm during the daylight to back a fifth into (ditch on one side and logs on the other) until I get u shape and new entrance complete. So went in a took shower and 3 hour of sleep.

Get up to get machine shop ready as the hvac guys are supposed to show this morning for mini split install. I get some things moved and go out to find all of this lumber in my way and much of it way to close to our fifth wheel rv.

Apparently our rd identifies as xx wildcat rd, it used to identify as shoshone trl. Who knew?!?

So I relocated it to the street to give myself a place to park truck and trailer off whatever rd I now live on. I figure once the boss of lumber supply explains to said truck driver he was lost and delivered 5-10k worth of material to incorrect address he’ll be back for it and didn’t want him on my property.

Trusses get delivered tomorrow so I warned him in case they try to deliver them to his place…..

Didn’t plan to take the bumper off but made lit so much easier.

The box is ready to lift off tomorrow evening.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Good job Sam.

Channeling my inner Tate..

Have an Aussie wagyu ribeye and a Japanese A-5 wagyu fillet.  Going to sear in the pan with garlic cloves and rosemary using the beef tallow I rendered off the prime brisket last weekend. Finish in the oven to 125

Also making crispy smashed baby potatoes roasted in beef tallow, then tossed in a spice mix with garlic, salt, paprika, cayenne, onion powder, chili powder.

Lastly is yellow and gold cherry tomatoes roasted in olive oil salt an pepper and served with chiffonade of basil.

Praying Im not screwing up the steaks.

JR, I bought my 14’ 17k trailer for a tad over $11k in beaver city NE factory direct from Kaufman. My sales lady was great. If you need a contact let me know. The upgrade from 16k to 17k was $1k it went from 16” 14 ply tires to 17.5” 16 ply tires and slightly heavier axles.

All I’ve hauled is stone and it does great, twin boom. Don’t know about hauling brush, I upgraded to pintle and added side boards after taking possession of it. Mine came with the roll away tarp cover which is a savings of a few hundred if deleted btw.

So what I’m saying is you could a brand new trailer for probably less than what you’re paying for used there.

^^^^^^^^I have that same trailer, except a 12-footer. I can't say enough good things about it. Have used it for years now. Everything is good, finished flaking in a couple of areas, hydraulics are leak-free and even the battery is strong at 4+ years.
Kaufman is arguably the best or at least at the top of the heap.

The back story on the owner of Kaufman is pretty impressive as well. He was literally living in a trailer and buying scrap from the junkyard when he started his business building trailers. The beaver city Nebraska facility was because he knew people in that town from his local church in NC.

I think it’s safe to say it’s a good company to purchase from. I now have two of their trailers and two flawless transactions with them. Very happy with both trailers.
Living in the remote north hoping Ken doesn’t bring H up here any time soon…..

Cleaned and packed all the bearings on the travel trailer. Yuck.

I need to tear my system down. My truck says trailer brakes need help. We just finished a trip back to Indiana and the trailer brake controller was talking to me off and on the whole way. I think the problem is the wiring going through the axles is chaffed and causing ground problems. Now that I am home I can get under there and pull new wire and of course check all the brakes too. I don’t buy into repacking bearings once a year like is the common statements from almost all the dealers. Adjust the brakes, check the brakes on a gravel road and call it a day. If the tires all slide a bit in the grave all should be good. Every couple years a complete take down might be in order but every year, I don’t think so

Yeah we’ve had the trailer 3 years, figured it was time.

Also discovered one of the tires (OEM chinabombs) has the beginning of a bubble in the middle of the tread. :(

Bummer on the tire problem. Glad you found it before it came apart and took the wheel well with it when it let go.
